(i) Academic
(a) For BE Courses
The admission to the First Semester BE Courses will be open to a candidate, who (i) has qualified in the AIEEE-2011, conducted by the CBSE, for admission to these courses.
(ii) has passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination with at least 60% marks in aggregate (55% marks in case of SC / ST / Physically Handicapped), conducted by a recognized Board / University / Council in March / April 2011 and not earlier than March / April 2009.
(b) For BArch Course

The admission to the First Semester BArch Course will be open to a candidate, who
(i) has qualified in the All India Engineering / Pharmacy / Architecture Entrance Examination (AIEEE-2011), with Architecture Aptitude test conducted by the CBSE
(ii) has passed an examination at the end of the new 10+2 scheme of Senior School Certificate Examination or equivalent with Mathematics and English as subjects of examinations at the 10+2 level (not earlier than March/April-2009) with minimum 50% marks in aggregate;
OR
has passed 3 year diploma in Architecture (10+3) (not earlier than March / April-2009) recognized by the Central / State Governments provided the candidate passed the Diploma examination with 50% marks in aggregate.

Online Registration and Counseling Procedure:
All eligible candidates are required to register Online through Internet (http://www.chdenggadmissions.nic.in ) from places convenient to them. The candidate will register by entering the following as indicated in the AIEEE-2011
o Admit Card
o Roll number
o Application No.
o Name of the candidate
o Date of Birth

After registration, the candidate has to take a printout of the e-challan and pay an amount of Rs. 1050/- as registration-cum-counseling fee (Non-Refundable) in any branch of State Bank of India. After payment, the candidate has to Login once again and enter the details of the e-challan for successful completion of the registration process.

Last Date for Online Registration: 24th June, 2011 up to 5.00 pm.

Admissions will be done through three rounds of online counseling followed by one last (fourth) round of manual counseling. Only those candidates who have successfully registered themselves till 24th June, 2011 and paid the registration-cum-counseling fee of Rs. 1050/- will be able to participate in these rounds of counseling. However, there will only be two rounds of manual counseling for the candidates belonging to Sports Category and son / daughters / spouses of Military / Paramilitary Personnel.

Thapar University, Patiala, Punjab - 147004 BE, BTech Admissions 2011-2012 Applications have been invited for admission to BE / BTech courses of Thapar University, Patiala for the Academic Year 2011-12. Admission to BE / BTech Programs shall be made on the basis of merit in All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE-2011) to be conducted by CBSE, New Delhi on May 1, 2011. Only those candidates shall be eligible, who score at least 20% (15% for SC / ST) aggregrate marks in AIEEE-2011. In addition, minimum 60% (55% for SC/ST) marks in aggregrate of Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Computer Science at 10+2 or equivalent examination are also required to be eligible for admission. 50% of the seats of BE / BTech program are reserved for the candidates who have passed/(or appearing) in their +2 examination from Institutions located in Punjab. EligibilityFor Higher Secondary students:
Candidates seeking an admission to B.E/B.Tech courses should have complied with the norms prescribed by the Government of Tamilnadu. The norms would be the marks secured in the higher secondary board examinations and the marks obtained from competitive exams such as TNPCEE.

Diploma Holders:
Diploma Holders seeking an admission to B.E/B.Tech courses should have the following minimum aggregate in the 5th & 6th semesters. For Diploma holders (Second year admission) there will be no qualifying age limit.

Candidates other than SC/ST:
Candidates belonging to communities other than SC/ST should have passed the qualifying examination in not more than 2 appearances and only the first improvement will be considered. The age limit for the candidates other than SC/ST is 21 years at the time of admission (1st July of the respective academic year).
Foreign Students:
Foreign students seeking admission to B.E/B.Tech courses should have passed the equivalent of the +2 examination, in their respective country. Anna University has to approve this examination and issue an eligibility certificate endorsing the same.
