We are happy to inform you, that Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), Dehradun, is announcing its 85th IIRS Outreach Programme on “Basic of RS, GIS & GNSS” during 16 August – 26 November, 2021 for working professionals and students.

This online course is a unique opportunity to learn Basic of RS, GIS & GNSS by devoting one-and-half-hour each day (1600-1730 Hrs) from the place of stay of the participant. 

The course can be attended without any cost through Internet. 

The Certificate of participation will be awarded to all the participants on successful completion of the programme.

I. Courses and the eligibility for admission are as follows:
1) MSc Forestry: Three years Bachelor's degree in science with atleast one of the subjects, namely Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or Forestry.

2) MSc Wood Science & Technology: Three years Bachelor's degree with physics, Mathematics and Chemistry or BSc degree in Forestry

3) MSc Environment Management: Three years Bachelor's degree in any branch of basic or applied sciences or Bachelor's Degree in Forestry or Agriculture or BE / BTech in Environment Science.

4) Post Master Diploma in Natural Resource Management: MSc in any discipline

II.Percentage of Marks in the qualifying examination:
Candidates should be having 50% or above marks in general category and 45% marks for scheduled castes/scheduled tribes.

Walk in interview for selection of Senior Research Fellows will be held on 29th October 2011 in Doon University, Kedarpur, Dehradun for National Initiative on Climate Resilient Agriculture (NICRA) of Central Research Institute for Dry land Agriculture (CRIDA), Hyderabad funded project on “Community Driven Climate Resilient Hill Agriculture in Village Ecosystems of North West Himalayas (Uttarakhand)”.

Minimum Qualification: 1st class M.Sc. in Environmental Science/ Agricultural Sciences/ Forestry/Botany and related disciplines.

Desirable Qualifications: Experience in soil and plant analysis and field work relevant to the project. Extensive travel and stay with village communities, particularly women, in hill areas is mandatory. Female candidates are encouraged to apply.

Age: less than 35 years for men and 40 years for women.

Candidates should possess a background of Forestry training with a minimum of Bachelor's degree in any of the natural sciences.
Foreign nationals with forestry background at equivalent levels are also eligible for admission to the course, provided they have adequate knowledge of English.
Both Indian and Foreign candidates should not be more than 45 years of age as on September 1, 2011. They should be fit to withstand the arduous outdoor training programme.
Admission to the course for Indian as well as foreign candidates will be on a “first come-first served” basis.

Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun, has invited applications for admission to Post Graduate Diploma Course in Advanced Wildlife Management for the Academic Year 2011-12.

Eligibility:

A candidate, alternatively, could register for one or more sub-components as a lateral entrant, depending upon the vacancy in the main Diploma Course (20 seat capacity) as also upon his/ her interest and time available.

Sub-component 3, includes a Wildlife Management Overseas Study Tour, which shall be open only to regular diploma participants, who opt for the entire 10 months course.
