Institute of Liver & Biliary Sciences (ILBS) is an autonomous super-speciality institute of excellence under Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi. Its vision is to be a global leader by becoming a beacon of patient care, teaching and research in the field of adult and pediatric liver and biliary diseases. ILBS has a Deemed-to-be-University status conferred to it by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 3 of the UGC Act 1956. The institute is inviting application for DM/MCh/PhD and PDCC courses, recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI), in the academic session August 2012, as perthe details given below:

Applications on prescribed forms are invited from eligible candidates for admission test to the above courses.


ELIGIBILITY: DM Hepatology: Candidate must possess: 1. MBBS degree recognized by the MCI: 2. MD/DNB degree in Medicine or Pediatrics recognized by the MCI.

MCh Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) Surgery: Candidate must possess: 1. MBBS degree recognized by the MCI; 2. MS/DNB degree in General Surgery recognized by the MCI.
PhD in Biomedical Sciences: A degree of Master of Sciences or Master's degree in any subject allied to Bio Medical Sciences with at least 60% marks or Master of Surgery or Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree or Diploma of the National Board of Examinations MBBS degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in the professional examinations. PDCC in Liver Transplant Anesthesia: MD/DNB in Anaesthesia PDCC in HPB Interventional Radiology: MD/DNB in Radiology

HOW TO APPLY: Candidate may download the prospectus along with the application form from the ILBS website (www.ilbs.in ). Candidate must ensure their eligibility from the prospectus before applying. Application form duly filled in with all necessary documents attached should be submitted in person or sent by post to the Associate Dean, Institute of Liver & Biliary Sciences (ILBS), D-1, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, 110070 on or before 5:00 PM of 31/05/2012. Application form must be accompanied by the application fee in form of Demand Draft for Rs. 2500/- (Rupees two thousand five hundred) only, payable at New Delhi, in favor of the "Director, ILBS, New Delhi". Application fee once paid will not be refunded even in case of his/her application is rejected. The filled in applications received after the prescribed date and time shall not be considered. The Institute will not be responsible for non-receipt of applications or delay in postal transit. In-service candidates shall route their application forms through proper channel.

PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION: Selection of candidates for DM/MCh/PhD/PDCC courses will be made on the basis of entrance test. All applications would be screened for eligibility and only the eligible candidates would be called for the entrance test. The schedule of entrance test is as follows:

• Written Examination at New Delhi 01 -Jul-2012, Sunday
• Departmental assessment 02-Jul-2012, Monday The courses shall commence from 01/08/2012

The Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), Delhi has invited applications for admission to following degree courses of Academic Year 2012-13.

1. DM Hepatology
2. MCh Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery
3. MD-PhD
4. PhD (Biomedical Sciences)
5. PDCC (Liver Transplant Anaesthesia)
6. PDCC (HPB Interventional Radiology)

Qualifications Required:
DM Hepatology: MD in General Medicine or Pediatrics from an Indian University recognized by the Institute or Diplomat of National Board in General Medicine / Pediatrics or any other examination approved by the Institute for this purpose from time to time.

MCh Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery: MS in General Surgery from an Indian University recognized by the Institute or Diplomat of National Board in General Surgery or any other examination approved by the Institute for this purpose from time to time.

MD-PhD: MBBS or any other recognized medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or part-II of the Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1958. Holders of educational qualifications Included in part-II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in subsection (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.

PhD (Biomedical Sciences): A candidate seeking admission to the PhD course must possess at least one of the following qualifications of recognized University / Institutes:
A degree of Master of Sciences or Master's degree in any subject allied to Bio Medical Sciences with at least 60% marks or Master of Surgery or Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree or Diploma of the National Board of Examinations.
MBBS degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in the professional examinations.
PDCC (Liver Transplant Anaesthesia & HPB Interventional Radiology): MD in Anesthesia or Radiology respectively from an Indian University recognized by the Institute or Diplomat of National Board in Anaesthesia or Radiology respectively any other examination approved by the Institute for this purpose from time to time.

Upper Age Limit: Forty years (as on 31st July, 2012), relaxable by 5 years for SC / ST candidates.

Ph.D in Biomedical Sciences, Admissions 2011-2012

Institute of Liver & Biliary Sciences (ILBS), New Delhi, has invited applications for admission to Ph. D. in Biomedical Sciences starting from October 1, 2011.

A candidate seeking admission to the Ph. D course must possess at least one of the following qualifications of recognized University/Institutes:
• A degree of Master of Sciences or Master's degree in any subject allied to BioMedical Sciences with at least 60% marks or Master of Surgery or Doctor of
Medicine or an equivalent degree or Diploma of the National Board of Examinations.
• MBBS degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in the professional
examinations.
Students with ICMR/CSIR /DBT JRF qualified /project fellowships need to apply for entrance test.

The candidate has to fill and submit the application form online. A print out of the online application form has to be posted to the Associate Dean, Institute of Liver & Biliary Sciences (ILBS), D-l, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi - 110070 on or before 5:00 PM of 30th June, 2011, accompanied by the application fee in form of Demand Draft for Rs. 2500/- (Rupees two thousand Five Hundred) only, payable at New Delhi, in favor of the "Director, ILBS, New Delhi".

The schedule of entrance test is as follows:
• Objective test: 17-July-2011, Sunday
• Interview: 20-July-2011, Wednesday
