Distance Courses Admission Notice 2014-2015

Applications have been invited from eligible candidates for admission into the following Courses of Study (Session 2014-15) offered by the Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata, through Distance Mode:

Courses & Eligibility:

1. BA (Spl. Hons) in Rabindra Sangeet - Pass Graduate in any stream (General, Professional, Performing Art etc.)

2. MA in Rabindra Sangeet & Vocal Music - General (10+2+3) / Hons / Equivalent Graduate / Post Graduate in General or Professional Course

3. MA in Bengali, Education, English, Environmental Studies, History, Political Science & Sanskrit - Hons. in the subject concerned / Pass Graduate (10+2+3) having the relevant subject of 300 marks at Graduate level.           - For Education: UG / PG with Bed / Spl. BEd also eligible. For Environmental Studies: Hons. Graduate in any subject / Pass Graduate

4.  Master of Social Work (MSW) - (10+2+3) or equivalent Graduate with 50% marks / Hons. / PG*

5.  MA in Geography - Hons. in Geography

6.  Diploma in Music - HS or equivalent

7.  Diploma in Tagore Literature -  Graduate (10+2+3) or equivalent

8.  PG Diploma in NGO Management - Graduate (10+2+3) or equivalent

Applications can be obtained from DDE, RBU Main Campus (99): EE-9&10, Sector-II, Saltlake City, Kolkata, Pin. 700091 or from Selected Branches of the Allahabad Bank on payment of Rs. 120/- or Selected Study centers of Rabindra Bharati University. Application fee can also be remitted through Demand Draft in favour of D.D.E, R.B.U payable at Kolkata.

Completed application forms can be submitted to DDE, RBU Main Campus (99): EE-9&10, Sector-II, Saltlake City, Kolkata, Pin. 700091 or to desired Centers.

Last Date of Submission of Application Form: 18.09.2014 (without late Fee) and 29.09.2014 (with late fee of Rs. 100/-).

Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkota has invited applications for admission to PhD Programmes (2012-13) under the Faculties of Arts, Fine Arts and Visual Arts in the following subjects:

1. Faculty of Arts:
(a) Bengali, Tagore Studies
(b) English
(c) Sanskrit, Vedic Studies
(d) Philosophy
(e) Political Science
(f) History
(g) Education
(h) Economics
(i) Library and Information Science

2. Faculty of Fine Arts:
(a) Drama
(b) Dance
(c) Rabindra Sangeet
(d) Vocal Music
(e) Instrumental Music and Percussion
(f) Musicology

3. Faculty of Visual Arts:
(a) Painting
(b) Graphics (Printmaking)
(c) Sculpture
(d) History of Art

Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates having Master’s degree with 55% marks (50 % for SC / ST) or its equivalent grade from any UGC recognized University in India or an equivalent degree of a recognized foreign University preceded by graduation with Honours or its equivalent degree in the concerned or allied subject are eligible to apply for admission to the PhD Programme of study in his / her disciplinary subject of study or in a subject of allied discipline or in an inter disciplinary subject.

Admission Procedure:
The candidates will have to appear for a written Entrance Test, and if qualified, have to appear for an interview to be conducted by the Department or School or Centre concerned. However, the students who have qualified / cleared in the MPhil, NET / SET / GATE / UGC (JRF) / CSIR (JRF) or Teacher Fellowship Holder will be exempted from appearing in the written Entrance Test to be conducted by the University. Such candidates will have to appear in the interview.

It is mandatory to attach the demand draft / pay order for Rs.100/- drawn in favour of "Rabindra Bharati University", payable at Kolkata with the downloaded form.

The duly filled in downloaded form along with copies of all mark sheets, certificates and other relevant documents and demand draft, has to be submitted in the Office of the Secretary, Faculty Councils at 56A, B.T. Road, Kolkata - 700 050, in person (not by post).

Last date of submission: 22.03.2012 (within 4:00 pm)
