Admissions 2012


Applications are invited for admission to the following programmes
i) Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in different branches of engineering at ITER.
ii) Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at IMS & SH.
iii) Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) at IDS.
iv) Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm.) at SPS.
v) Bachelor of Hotel Management & Catering Technology (BHMCT) at SHM.
vi) Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) at SNC.
vii) BBA LLB at SNIL


Eligibility
a) B.Tech.
Pass or appearing (in the year 2012) at 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects alongwith one of the following subjects : Chemistry / Computer Science / Information Technology /Biotechnology / Biology / Informatics / Statistics, by securing atleast 45% marks taken together in the subject mentioned (40% incase of candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC category) OR
Pass in Diploma programme in Engineering / Technology with less than 60% marks in aggregate.
b) MBBS and BDS
Pass or appearing at 10+2 examination (in the year 2012) or any equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany and Zoology) and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying examination. In respect of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Schedules Tribes and Other Backward Classes the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination can be 40% instead of 50% for General Candidates. For PH candidates qualifying examination marks is 45% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together.

As per MCI & DCI guidelines candidates have to secure at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) taken together in the entrance test. For SC / ST / OBC candidates the limit is minimum of 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) taken together in the entrance test. For PH candidates the limit is minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) taken together in the entrance test. All candidates must pass in English.
Age Limit: The lower age limit is 17 year and the upper age limit is 25 year as on 31.12.2012. Further provided that this upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates belonging to SC and ST category only.

c) B. Pharm
Pass or appearing at 10+2 examination (in the year 2012) with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects: Mathematics / Biotechnology / Computer Science / Biology / Information Technology, by securing atleast 45% marks taken together in the subject mentioned (40% incase of candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC category) OR

Pass in Diploma programme in Pharmacy with less than 60% marks.

d) BHMCT
Pass or appearing at 10+2 examination (2012 ) in any discipline with atleast 45% marks (40% incase of SC / ST / OBC category)

e) B.Sc. in Nursing (Basic)
Pass or appearing at 10+2 examination (in the year 2012) with at least 45% marks in aggregate (English, Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together) and 40% marks in aggregate for SC / ST / OBC candidates only.

Age Limit : The lower age limit is 17 years as on 31.12.2012.

f) B.Sc. in Nursing (Post Basic)
Passed GNM examination, and registered with concerned State Nursing Council. Candidate must be a member of TNAI.

g) Five years integrated BBA LLB Honours Programme
Passed the 10+2 or equivalent in any stream with atleast 45% marks. Relaxable to 40% in case of SC/ ST. Candidate should not have completed 21 years of age as on 1st August 2012.

a) M.Tech.
Pass or appearing at B.E. / B.Tech / AMIE /MCA/M.Sc. in the respective discipline or equivalent. For M.Tech. in Biotechnology, candidates having B.Tech./ B.E. in Biotechnology or related fields / M.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Life Science or equivalent / MBBS / B.Pharm./B.V.Sc. with Biology as a subject at +2 level are eligible.

Candidates having MCA degree are eligible for M.Tech in Comp. Sc. & Engg., Comp. Sc. & Data Processing, and those with M.Sc. (Maths.) degree are eligible for M.Tech in Comp. Sc. & Data Processing. Candidates with M.Sc. (Electronics) are eligible for M.Tech. in Electronics& Communication Engineering and M.Tech. in Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering. M.Sc. in Computer Science and IT are eligible for M.Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering and CS & IT respectively.

A candidate with B.Tech. (Environmental / Chemical / Civil / Mechanical / Metallurgy) or M.Sc. (Environmental Science / Chemistry / Biotechnology / Geology / Life Science / Botany / Zoology) is eligible for M.Tech. in Environmental Science & Technology. For M.Tech. Material Science & Technology candidate must have M.Sc. (Physics) / M.Sc. (Chemistry) / B.Tech. (Electronics & Communication Engg.) / B.Tech (Electrical Engg.) For admission to M.Tech, candidates have to pass the qualifying examination with atleast 50% marks.

b) MCA
Pass or appearing (in the year 2012) at three year Bachelor Degree in any discipline from any recognised University with atleast 45% of marks (40% incase of candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC Category) having Mathematics at 10+2 level or at +3 level Candidates having Business mathematics at +2 or +3 level are not eligible.

c) MBA/ MHMCT/ MHA
Pass or appearing (in the year 2012) three year Bachelor Degree in Science, Commerce and Arts/ B.E./ B.Tech./ MBBS/ BHMS/ BAMS/ BDS/ BPT/ BHMCT/ BBA/BCA examination or equivalent in 2011 from any recognised University with atleast 45% marks (40% incase of candidate belonging to SC / ST / OBC category)

b) Application form & information brochure of SAAT–2012 can also be obtained from designated branches of Axis Bank, Syndicate Banks and Punjab National Bank.
c) Application form & information brochure of SAAT-2012 is available at www.soauniversity.ac.in . The candidate can take print out of application form , fill it up neatly and send it by Post/courier alongwith a Demand Draft of a 750/- drawn in favour of SIKSHA O ANUSANDHAN UNIVERSITY, Bhubaneswar, Payable at Bhubaneswar.

d) Cost of one set of application form & information brochure is a 750/- (in person by cash) and a 800/- by post in the form of a demand draft drawn in favour of SIKSHA O ANUSANDHAN UNIVERSITY, Bhubaneswar, Payable at Bhubaneswar.

All India Entrance Test (SAAT-2012)



Siksha O Anusandhan University, Bhubaneswar will conduct the All India Entrance Test (SAAT-2012) at 60 centers across 42 cities of India, for admission into the various programmes of following constituent institutes for Academic Session 2012-13, on 12th May, 2012.


Institute of Technical Education & Research - Faculty of Engineering and Technology (ITER)
Institute of Business and Computer Studies - Faculty of Management Studies (IBCS)
Institute of Medical Science & SUM Hospital - Faculty of Medical Sciences (IMS)
School of Hotel Management - Faculty of Hotel Management (SHM)
Sum Nursing College - Faculty of Nursing (SNC)
Institute of Dental Sciences - Faculty of Dental Sciences (IDS)
School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPS) - Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences
Center for Bio Technology (CBT) - Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences

Courses and Eligibility:

Bachelor Degree Programs:
a) BTech
Pass or appearing at 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics OR Pass or appearing at the final year of three year Diploma programme in Engg. / Technology.

b) MBBS and BDS
Pass or appearing at 10+2 examination or any equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany and Zoology) and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying examination. d) BHMCT
Pass or appearing at 10+2 examination in any discipline.

e) BSc in Nursing (Basic)
Pass or appearing at 10+2 examination with at least 45% marks in aggregate (English, Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together) and 40% marks in aggregate for SC / ST and OBC candidates only.
Age Limit: The lower age limit is 17 year as on 31.12.2011.

f) BSc in Nursing (Post Basic)
Passed GNM examination, and registered with concerned State Nursing Council. Candidate must be a member of TNAI.

Master Degree Programmes:

a) MTech
Pass or appearing at BE / BTech / AMIE / MCA / MSc in the respective discipline or equivalent. For MTech in Biotechnology candidates having BTech / BE in Biotechnology or related fields / MSc in Physics, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Life Science or equivalent / MBBS / BPharm / BVSc with Biology as a subject at +2 level are eligible. Candidates having MCA degree are eligible for MTech in Comp. Sc. & Engg., Comp. Sc. & Data Processing, and those with MSc (Maths) degree are eligible for MTech in Comp. Sc. & Data Processing. Candidates with MSc (Electronics) are eligible for MTech in Electronics & Communication Engineering and MTech in Applied Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering. MSc in Computer Science and IT are eligible for MTech in Computer Science & Engineering and IT respectively. GATE qualified candidates are exempted from the entrance test, but they have to submit the filled up form. Admission into MTech programmes will be done on the basis of performance in SAAT-2012 or GATE and personal interview taken together. After the interview, a separate merit list will be prepared.

b) MCA
Pass or appearing at three year Bachelor Degree in any discipline from any recognised University having Mathematics at 10+2 level or at +3 level. Candidates having Business mathematics at +2 or +3 level are not eligible.

c) MBA / MHTM / MHA
Pass or appearing three year Bachelor Degree in Science, Commerce and Arts / BE / BTech / MBBS / BHMS / BAMS / BDS / BPT / BHMCT / BBA / BCA examination or equivalent in 2010 from any recognised University having at least 50% of marks. Candidate having a minimum composite score of 500 in MAT or any other equivalent test are exempted from appearing SAAT-2012. They are required only to submit the filled up application form. Admission will be done on the basis of performance in SAAT-2012 or MAT followed by group discussion and personal interview (GD / PI), all taken together.

d) MPharm
Pass or appearing at BPharm examination from any recognized University. The candidate having valid GATE score can apply.

e) MSc in Industrial Biotechnology
Pass or appearing at three year Bachelor degree in Science OR four year Bachelor course in Agriculture / Pharmacy / Veterinary / Engineering / Technology / Medicine (MBBS/BDS) from any recongnised University.

f) MSc in Nursing
Passed BSc Nursing (Basic / Post Basic) Degree with 55% aggregate from a Institution recognized by Indian Nursing Council with a minimum of one year experience either in teaching or clinical area but they should be registered in State Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife.
