Applications in prescribed form are invited from eligible candidates for admission to the following programmes of studies for the session 2012-13
Category A: Admission through Entrance Examinations
Programmes (i) Integrated B.A.B.Ed. (Major in English), Integrated B. Sc. B. Ed. (Major in Chemistry/ Physics/Mathematics, (ii) Integrated M. A. in English, Integrated M. Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Bioscience and Bioinformatics, (iii) MCA, (iv) M. A. in English, M.A. in Linguistics and Language Technology, Cultural Studies, Sociology, Mass Communication & Journalism and Mathematics, (v) M. Sc. in Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Nanoscience and Technology, Environmental Science, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, (vi) M.Tech. in Information Technology, Electronics Design & Technology, Bioelectronics, Energy Technology, Polymer Science & Technology, (vii) Integrated M. Tech. in Food Engineering and Technology, (viii) M. Tech. in Food Processing Technology (lateral entry), (ix) PG Diploma in Tourism Management, Mobile & Multimedia Communication, Translation (Hindi)(x) Certificate in Chinese.
Category B: Admission based on AIEEE score
Candidates will be admitted to B. Tech. programmes in (i) Mechanical Engineering, (ii) Civil Engineering, (iii) Electronics & Communication Engineering, (iv) Computer Science & Engineering, (v) Food Engineering & Technology programmes on the basis of performance in the All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Examination (AIEEE) conducted by the CBSE to be held in 2012. Candidates belonging to NE states and who have applied for the AIEEE are eligible to apply to this University for admission against NE seats for which counselling will be held at Tezpur University. Candidates against the open seats will be admitted through Central Counselling conducted by the CBSE and need not apply separately to Tezpur University.
Candidates from NE states securing any of the top 10 positions in the Higher Secondary Board/Council Examinations at the aggregate of 85% or more will be directly admitted to the discipline of his/her choice with free studentship. Free studentship shall also be available to top 5% of students admitted to the B.Tech. programmes based on AIEEE score.
Category C: Direct Admission to M. Tech. programmes
A merit list based on valid GATE score as per eligibility criteria will be prepared for direct admission without entrance examination for admission in to the M.Tech in Electronics Design & Technology, Information Technology, Bioelectronics and Energy Technology programme.
Category D: Ph. D. programme
Candidates will be admitted on the basis of their performance in the written test and personal interview conducted by the Departments of Business Administration, English & Foreign Languages, Cultural Studies, Sociology, Chemical Sciences, Physics, Mathematical Sciences, Molecular Biology & Biotechnology, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Food Engineering & Technology, Civil Engineering, Energy, and Environmental Science. Candidates for Ph. D. programme shall be required to report to the Head of the concerned department on the dates specified in the prospectus for written test and personal interview. No call letter will be issued separately in this regard. Details of eligibility criteria and area of research are available in the website

Reservation of seats: Reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC (Non Creamy Layer)/PWD (Persons with Disability) candidates is as per Central Govt. rules.
Self Supported Scheme (SSS): Tezpur University has a provision for admission of students under Self Supported Scheme (SSS). Waitlisted candidates failing to get seat in the normal process may seek admission under this provision by paying some amount of fees in addition to the normal fees at the time of admission.
How to apply
TU application form along with the prospectus can be obtained (i) from the designated branches of PUNJAB NATIONAL BANK by paying Rs.510/-( Rs.250/- for SC/ST) or, (ii) in person by paying Rs. 500/- (Rs.250/- for SC/ST) from the office of the Controller of Examinations, T.U., or (iii) by sending a request to the Controller of Examination, T.U. with a demand draft of Rs. 560/- (Rs. 310/- for SC/ST) in favour of the Registrar, Tezpur University, payable at Tezpur, with a self addressed unstamped envelope of 36 cm x 25 cm., or ,(iv) downloading the forms from the website (www.tezu.ernet.in ). Downloaded application form should be accompanied with a draft of Rs.500/- (Rs.250/- for SC/ST) drawn in favour of the Registrar, Tezpur University, payable at Tezpur. The Bank Draft should be prepared between 01.04.12 to 26.04.12 for admission to B. Tech. programme and between 01.02.12 to 26.03.12 for all other programmes.
Candidates applying for more than one programme must apply separately for each programme. However, candidates applying for Integrated M.Sc./Integrated B.Sc.B.Ed. programme under a particular department need not submit separate applications. Similarly for Integrated M.A. (English) and Integrated B.A.B.Ed. (English major in B.A.), candidates need to apply in a single application form.

(i) For all programmes other than B. Tech: February 01 to March 26, 2012
(ii) For B. Tech programme: February 01 to April 26, 2012
Last date of receipt of applications
(i) B. Tech. programmes: May 07, 2012.
(ii) All other programmes: April 09, 2012.
Applications received after the last date will not be entertained. Applications must be accompanied with all relevant documents. Incomplete applications will be rejected summarily.
