PG Entrance Examination 2015

Applications are invited for admission to the PG Programmes having entrance examinations for the Academic year 2015-16.

COURSES & ELIGIBILITY
1. M.Sc. General Biotechnology:
Degree (10+2+3) with 55% marks in Biotechnology, Bio-Informatics, Biochemistry, Micro Biology, Botany, Zoology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Chemistry, B.Sc. Agriculture, B.V.Sc, B.Pharm, Life Sciences of this University or any other equivalent Degree approved by the University.

2. MSc Health and Yoga Therapy:
Any graduate in Medical Science MBBS, BAMS, BHMS/Graduate in Biological Sciences eg: Zoology, Biochemistry, Dietetics & Nutrition, Microbiology, Home Science, Bio Technology, Clinical Psychology, Physiology, Chemistry, any other Science graduate; any Humanities and Commerce graduate. Any graduate from education or Physical Education Faculty. Should produce a medical certificate for organic fitness. A minimum of 45% marks should be obtained for graduation. 45% should be obtained for selection test.

3. MSW:
Bachelors Degree in any discipline recognised by the University of Calicut with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. Aggregate marks means the total marks obtained for part - I English and part III(main and subsidiary) subjects. For those disciplines, which do not have English, only main and subsidiary marks will be taken into consideration.

4. M.C.J:
Bachelor degree of this University or any other University recognised as equivalent by Calicut University with an aggregate of 45% marks. Professional graduates will be considered, if they secure 60% marks in overall subjects. For Back-ward community and SC/ST candidates, the minimum aggregate marks required to apply will be as per University rules.

5. MSc Applied Psychology:
Bachelor degree of this University or any other University recognised as equivalent by this University with Psychology as one of the papers in Part III either Main or Sub.

6. MSc Clinical Psychology:
Candidates who have passed their Bachelor's Degree recognized by this University with at least 50% marks in any of the following courses.
1. BA/BSc Psychology
2.MBBS/BHMS/BAMS/BSc Nursing
3.Bachelor's Degree with Psychology as one of the main or subsidiary subjects.

7. M.Sc. Food Science and Technology:
50% marks in Part III Optional in any B.Sc Degree and approved by this University with Mathematics as one of the optional subject in +2 or B.Sc. Level.

8. Master of Physical Education (MPEd):
A pass in three year BPE or one year BPEd of this University or any other University duly recognized by this University and minimum sports achievements should be a second place in the Inter Collegiate or Inter district competitions (AIU recognized sports) conducted by the Universities in Kerala or recognized sports associations approved by the Kerala Sports Council. The upper age limit to the course shall be 25 years as on the Ist July of the year of admission. Relaxation upto 5 years in age shall be given to those candidates who have participated in inter University Tournaments or National level tournaments or in service candidates (Physical Education teachers) with minimum of 3 years experience and deputed by the appointing authority and SC/ST candidates

9. MSc Radiation Physics (Self financing):
Degree in Physics with 60% marks and with Mathematics as one of the subjects,under regular stream of study (10+2+3) of University of Calicut or any other University/Institution approved by the UGC and recognized as equivalent to by the University of Calicut.

10. M.A. (Folklore):
Any graduation recognised by UGC /Calicut University with a minimum of 45% marks. Those who are having Post-graduation are also eligible for admission.

11. Master of Hospital Administration (MHA):
Pass in any Bachelor Degree of the University of Calicut or institution recognized by the University of Calicut,UGC or AICTE as equivalent to the Bachelor's Degree Programmes of other Universities or institutions under 10+2+3 pattern under regular stream of study with not less than 50% marks in aggregate (without approximation, that is, 49.9999% is not eligible since it is less than 50%) is eligible for admission. SC/ST, OBC and other eligible communities shall be given relaxation as University rules.

12. Master of Visual Communications:
Bachelor's degree in any discipline, from an institution recognized by the University of Calicut, with an aggregate of not less than 45%.

Applications shall be submitted on line till 24.06.2015 midnight. Please see the link 'fee remittance' in the Admission Website www.cuonline.ac.in  or the link 'instant web payment system' in the Official Website of the University (www.universityofcalicut.info)  for remitting fee and submitting online application. A fee of Rs.300/- (SC/ST Rs.100/) shall be remitted to Calicut University Fund by e-payment (SBT online/SBT echalan/Friends/Akshaya e-chalan).

The print out of applications bearing Passport size Photograph along with the e-chalan receipt and attested copies of certificates as proof of qualifications, age and community should be forwarded to the Head of the Department/Co-ordinator/Director on or before 5 P.M on 26.06.2015.

Eligibility
The candidate applying for admission to MSc Computer Science should have secured at least 55% of marks or equivalent grade in BSc. (Computer Science or Information Technology or Electronics or Physics or Mathematics or Statistics or Chemistry) or BCA or B.Tech/BE (Computer Science or Information Technology or Electronics or Electronics and Telecommunication or Electronics and Communication). The admission will be based on the common entrance examination conducted by the University.
Conditions and guidelines
1. Applications are to be submitted online from 16.05.2015 to 15.06.2015, midnight through Calicut University website " www.universityofcalicut.info". (Please see the link 'Instant Web payment System'-CUIWPS for remitting fee and submitting online application for MSc Computer Science Entrance examination or through www.cuonline@uoc.ac.in (please see the link 'fee remittance').The entrance examination fee of Rs.300/- (Rs.100/- for SC/ST) shall be remitted to Calicut University Funds by SBT online/SBT E-Chalan/friends/Akshaya E-Chalan.
2. The candidates shall send a print out of the application and the e-chalan receipt (SC/ST candidates shall also attach a copy of the community cerificate along with the application) to the Head, Department of Computer Science, Calicut University Campus, P.O Calicut University-673635 so as to reach the same on or before 18.06.2015. (Candidates need not attach any other documents or photocopies along with the print out of the application). The documents to prove qualifications, community etc shall be prdoduced at the time of Counselling.
3. The online registration ID Number should be mentioned by the candidate in all future communications.
Please note that online registration ID Number is mandatory for downloading hall tickets for entrance examination)
4. No memo will be sent to the candidates in respect of entrance examination, entrance examination result and date of Counselling and other details. Candidates shall update themseves with the University wesbsite www.universityofcalicut.info/wwwcuonline.ac.in and the University Press release for the latest information.

Entrance Examination
The entrance examination will be conducted at 11 A.M on 26.07.2015 at the Department of Computer Science, Calicut University Campus.

The entance examination will be of two hours duration. The questions will be objective type having two parts.

Part-l-will have questions from Computer Science (Degree level)
Part-ll-will have equal number of questions from each of the following subjects (Degree level) (a) Electronics (b) Physics (c) Mathematics (d) Statistics and (e) Chemistry
Questions will be at the level of the qualifying Bachelor Degree Programme. Marks alloted for each part will be equal and there will be (0.25) mark penalty for each wrong answer. Medium of Examination will be English.

Authorized Test conducting authority
The Head of the Department of Computer Science, Calicut University Campus, University of Calicut (Tel. No. 0494 2407325, email:cshod@uoc.ac.in) is authorized to conduct entrance examination and admission as per rules and allot students to the University Department, Centres and affiliated colleges.

Applications have been invited for Admission to BEd Course (Two year-4 Semesters) for the academic year 2015-17 in the Govt. Colleges / Aided Colleges / University Teacher Education Centres / Unaided Colleges affiliated to University of Calicut. (Details of colleges are available on link:

Eligibility for admission
Academic Qualification
(a) BA / BSc Degree of the University of Calicut or a degree recognized as equivalent thereto under 10+ 2+3 pattern with minimum 50% marks in Part-I+II+III together or 50% Marks for Part-III alone or Master’s Degree in the same subject with minimum 50% marks or 10+2+5 pattern for Integrated MSc.
Course or 10+2+3+2 pattern for M.Com. However 10+2+3 Pattern is not insisted for BA / BSc Degree holders under liberalized scheme of the University of Calicut.
(b) Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks are eligible for admission to the programme.
(c) Double or Triple main candidates or candidates who passed the Degree Examination in Vocational or Specialized Courses are also eligible, subject to production of equivalency certificate from the University of Calicut.
(d) The minimum requirement of marks for admission to BEd Courses is 50% in Part-I+II+III in Bachelor’s Degree [Science / Arts Subjects] or 50% marks in Part-III alone or 50% marks in Post-Graduation for Commerce / Computer Science options in the concerned discipline (No rounding off of the percentage of marks to the nearest whole number is permitted).
(e) Academic eligibility should be satisfied as on the last date for submission of application ie 06-06-2015.

Age limit:
There is no upper age limit for admission to BEd Courses.

Nativity:
Admission to BEd programme is restricted to Keralites. But non-Keralite candidates also can be admitted to a maximum of 10% of the management quota seats in Private Self-financing Colleges.

How to apply:
Application for admission to BEd Courses 2015-17 in affiliated training colleges (Aided / unaided) and University Teacher Education Centres can be submitted to the institution concerned by remitting the cost of application Rs.100. (In case of Govt. colleges application forms are available from the college office on all the working days on paying Rs.50/-. Those who wish to get application forms by Post should produce a DD for Rs.50/- drawn in favour of Principal, from any nationalized bank along with a self-addressed stamp stamped envelope of Rs.5/-)

Filled up applications are to be submitted to the college concerned on or before 6.6.2015 with necessary documents.
The rank list will be prepared by the college and published in their notice board on 15/06/2015.
Interview will be conducted on 22/06/ 2015 and admission will be made.
The regular class of the BEd programme will be commenced from 1st July 2015.

Applications are also invited for the Part-time MBA (Evening programme - Self Financing - 4 semesters) 30 seats each at Calicut, Palakkad and Thrissur. If sufficient candidates do not prefer any of the centres for the MBA evening programme, the programme will not be offered at that centre.

Applications are also invited for admission to the merit seats of the MBA
Programme in the Management institutes/Colleges affiliated to this University.

The candidates under this notification will be considered only after considering the eligible candidates with valid CMAT score as per the notification dated 08.04.2015.

However, original Plus Two/Pre-degree mark list should be produced for verification at the time of Personal Interview and Group Discussion.

Selection
Selection is based on the score obtained in the entrance test (CUMAT) conducted by the University. Weightage awarded for Plus Two / Pre-degree marks and the scores obtained by the candidates in Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
