BCA Admission Notice 2015

Department of Computer Science, University of Lucknow, Lucknow-226007 has invited applications for admission to Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) through LUCSAT-2015.

ELIGIBILITY: 10+2 Level students of any board (CBSE,ICSE and U.P. BOARD etc.) with a minimum of 50% marks for Gen/OBC and 45% marks for SC/ST and Mathematics/Computer Science/Computer application as one of the subject at Intermediate / Higher Secondary (i.e. 10+2 level) can apply.

ADMISSION CRITERIA: The admission shall be done on the basis of combined entrance test (100 marks). There shall be no negative marking. Entrance Test Question paper will consist of multiple choice question. Details are as:

Part A: 40 Multiple Choice Questions, based on Logical reasoning, Numerical Aptitude, English Comprehension, General Knowledge.

Part B: 60 Multiple Choice Questions, based on Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science Syllabus of CBSE

Venue: for Entrance Examination test: Department of Computer Science, University of Lucknow, Lucknow

Time: for Entrance Examination test: One and Half hours (90 Minutes).

Application form must be send to Admission chairman LUCSAT-2015 by Speed Post only along-with demand draft, Self Attested Xerox copies of certificates/Mark Sheets and Two Self addressed Envelops size (27x12cm) duly stamped with Rs.39/-.

Applications have been invited by Admission Chairman, LUCSAT-2015, Department of Computer Science, University of Lucknow, Lucknow-226007 for admission to Master of Computer Application (MCA) course of Academic Year 2015-16.

ELIGIBILITY:

B.Sc. (Computer Science / Computer Application / Information Technology) or B.C.A./B.E/B.Tech. (CSE/IT) of minimum three year duration with a minimum of 50% marks for Gen/OBC and 45% marks for SC/ST and Mathematics/Computer Science/Computer application as one of the subject at Intermediate / Higher Secondary (i.e. 10+2) level. A Bachelor's degree under the 10+2+3 system in any field of study awarded by a University or Institute incorporated by law and recognized by Lucknow University with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates) in the aggregate shall constitute the minimum requirement for admission to the Programs.

The candidates for admission to the Program shall be selected through applicant's performance in the CAT (COMMON ADMISSION TEST) conducted by the Indian Institute of Management during Year 2015 at various test centers in India. Applicants, who do not have CAT Score will appear for LUMAT-2015 (Written Test) and will appear for GD/PI on the basis on combined Merit list.

Application Fee for General/OBC category candidates will be Rs. 1000/- (One Thousand Indian Rupees) and Rs. 500/- (Five Hundred Indian Rupees) for SC/ST category candidates. The fees can be paid Online through the links available in this Website. Those who cannot pay Online in the absence of Debit Card/Credit Card etc., may pay by cash at any of the State Bank of India Branches through the hard copy of the Challan, which you will have to print from this Website.

After depositing the fees as per the instructions, you will have to submit the Application Form Online. For this purpose you will have to open this Website again and after reading the Instructions you will have to click the Button 'Register and submit Application'. The system would ask you the Transaction Id given by the State Bank of India to you at the time of depositing Fees, and your Date of Birth. After verifying your credentials, the System would display the Online Application format to fill up the required information which you were not asked to supply at the time of Fees depositing. The Online Application Form can only be filled next day or later

After filling the Online Form, you will be prompted to take print-out of the filled-up Application Form. You should take the print-out. If you do not have a printer attached to the computer while filling-up for Online Application you can complete the application process and take the printout of the application form later by entering your Registration number and Password. You are required to send copy of the form with original signature & self attested photograph to the following given below. All the Documents would be required at the time of Written Test & GD/PI ( including marksheet of 10th + 12th + UG in original + a photocopy set).

Last date for online Application submission for LUMAT-2015 is 20th April 2015.

Last Date of Receiving of print-out of Application Form at University is 21st APRIL 2015.

Admit card downloading for LUMAT-2015 will start from 25th APRIL 2015.

LUMAT-2015 will be conducted on 17th MAY 2015.

Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD/PI) will start from 17th MAY 2015.

Result of LUMAT-2015 will be declared on 23rd MAY 2015.

Ph.D Admissions 2013-2014

Applications have been invited by Lucknow University for admission to Ph.D programmes in various specializations during Academic Year 2013-14.

Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D. Admission:

A candidate for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in a subject must hold a Master’s Degree in the subject concerned of this.

University or an equivalent degree of another University recognized by this University.

Explanation: – In exceptional cases, a candidate holding a Master’s Degree in an allied subject may also be considered for admission to Ph.D. by the Departmental Research Committee.

A candidate having at least 55% of marks at the Master’s degree level shall be eligible for admission to the Ph. D. Programme. For S.C./S.T. and Physically Challenged/Disabled candidates qualifying marks shall be 50% at Master’s degree level.

In Faculty of Ayurveda, however, a candidate having M.D. (Ayurveda) degree in the subject concerned or equivalent degree of another University recognized by this University shall be eligible for admission to the Ph.D programme in Ayurveda.

Candidates have to complete all the three steps for their candidature to be considered for admission.

The cost of Ph.D. Application Form will be Rs. 1000.00 for General & OBC Candidates and Rs. 500.00 for SC/ST Candidates.

Admission Procedure

Ph.D. admission shall be conducted in two phases.

Phase-I :

The feasible vacant seats available for fresh Ph.D. admission in broad subdisciplines of each department shall be advertised category wise by the Registrar, initially inviting application only from those candidates with CSIR/UGC JRF/INSPIRE fellowship valid till September 15 of that year and fulfilling the eligibility criteria prescribed in section 4.

These feasible vacant seats in each department shall be first filled by eligible JRF/INSPIRE applicants without any entrance test.

Where the number of JRF applicants exceeds the number of feasible vacant seats, the seats shall be filled through a merit list resulting from an entrance test administered to these JRF/INSPIRE applicants.

Phase-II :

After all the JRF applicants in each department have been considered, the remaining vacant seats shall be re-advertised category wise by the Registrar inviting applications from all candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria prescribed in section 4.

For each department, a category wise list of eligible applicants shall be made available on the University website (www.lkouniv.ac.in).  These applications shall be asked to appear for a Ph.D. Entrance Test on the date and place(s) fixed by the Admission Committee and notified by the University.

Based on the marks obtained in this entrance test, separate category wise merit list shall be prepared and the remaining Ph.D. vacant seats shall be filled through these category wise merit lists.

Instructions for candidates after submission of Ph.D. Admission Application form

Candidates whose name will appear in the provisional selected list would have to report in the concerned department of University of Lucknow along with their all original documents within four days of result declaration. If they fail to do so, their seats will be declared vacant in the next phase of Ph.D. admission procedure.

If the number of J.R.F. applicants exceeds the number of vacant seats, an entrance test will be held.  Candidates will be selected on the basis of their merit in the test.  Dates of the entrance test will be declared after September 23, 2013.

A candidate will be eligible for Admission to Post-Graduate Courses if he/she has completed B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. with 10+2+3 system from any University recognized by University Grants Commission and has secured a minimum 45% of marks at graduate level. However for SC/ST candidates minimum pass percentage of marks will be 40%.
The admission to the Post-Graduate Courses in the faculties of Arts, Science, Commerce and Education shall be on the basis of merit of marks obtained in the Graduation/Qualifying Examination.

A candidate will be eligible for admission to LL.M. course if he/she has secured a minimum of 50% marks at Law Graduate level. However for SC, ST candidates, the minimum percentage of marks will be 48%.

Steps for Online Submission:
Step 1:
Generate Bank Challan : Click on the link "Generate Bank Challan" to start the registration process.
Form fee is Rs. 800.00 per course for general and OBC candidates and Rs. 400.00 per course for SC/ST candidates.
Enter all the required information to Generate Bank Challan.
Candidates can select upto five courses in a single form. There is no need to generate bank challan for each course.
Print the Challan.
Step 2:
Go to any Branch of State Bank Of India and deposit the fee amount.
Bank will retain its copy and return the other two copies meant for the Student and University, duly stamped.
Bank will also provide with a unique code number called the Journal Number.
Step 3
Complete further formalities regarding Registration From Submission after depositing the application fee at the State Bank of India.
