Admission shall be based on Entrance Test on 14th November, 2011 (Time: 11a.m) which will consist of 1. Research Aptitude component (25 marks) and 2. Academic component (75 marks). Entrance Test Fee of Rs. 500/- should be paid by DD in favour of, Director, Centre for Studies in Museology.

A candidate shall require minimum 50% marks in Entrance Test. The merit of the candidate shall be calculated on the basis of 50% weightage to the Entrance Test and 50% weightage to the Academic merit of the candidate at the PG level.

A. Essential Requirements for Full-time Scholars:
One of the following requirements is essential to be fulfilled by a candidate:

(a) Candidates holding Masters Degree in Engineering / Technology / Sciences / Management / Humanities & Social Sciences or equivalent with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 6.5 on a 10 point scale or equivalent as determined by the Institutes or having minimum 60% marks in aggregate where marks are awarded (except in Humanities & Social Science where the requirement is first class with a minimum of 55% marks or CGPA of 6.0). For candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC or physically handicapped category, the minimum requirement of percentage of marks in aggregate is 55% and CGPA is 6.0 on a 10-point scale. The reserve category candidates must submit the required certificate from the competent authority along with the duly completed application form.

(b) In exceptional cases, applicants with BTech Degree or equivalent in respective discipline with excellent academic record with a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 8.5 on a 10 point scale or equivalent as determined by the Institutes wherever letter grades are awarded or 80% marks in aggregate where marks are awarded may be considered eligible for admission.

Additionally he must possess the qualifications in the relevant field as given below:

Civil Engineering:
ME / MTech or equivalent degree in respective and relevant engineering discipline.

Structural Engineering:
BE / BTech Civil and MTech (Structural Engineering / Geotechnical / Rock Mechanics / Earthquake Engineering or any other relevant field of Civil Engineering).

Chemical Engineering:
BTech / MTech (with Mathematics at 10+2 level) or equivalent degree in Chemical Engineering, OR BTech / MTech or equivalent degree in any branch of
Engineering / Chemical Technology and interdisciplinary areas, OR MSc with Mathematics at BSc Level in disciplines consistent with the research areas of the department.

Qualification: First Class Master’s degree in Psychology regular course Or MPhil in Medical & Social Psychology / Clinical Psychology of any recognized University, for 3 years and 2 years course respectively.

4. MPhil in Medical & Social Psychology
Duration: 2 years
Qualification: MA / MSc in Psychology regular course of a recognized University with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate.

GROUP C
5. MPhil in Psychiatric Social Work
Duration: 2 years
Qualification: MA in Sociology or Master in Social Work regular course of a recognized University with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate.

GROUP D
6. Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing
Duration: One year
Qualification: ‘A’ Grade Certificate or Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery.
Experience: Two years’ experience as Staff Nurse.

Scholarships:
Group A: For MD (Psychiatry) and DPM: Selected candidates may be considered for Residency Scheme as applicable to the Central Government Institutions. The residency scheme is limited and may not be available to some candidates joining the course on seats reserved for OBC candidates. However, it may be provided subject to sanctioning of the same by the Government.

Group B & C: Selected candidates may be considered for scholarship of Rs. 8000/- per month in the first and second year, and Rs. 9000/- per month in the third year. The scholarships are limited and may not be available to some candidates joining the course on seats reserved for OBC candidates. However, it may be provided subject to sanctioning of the same by the Government

Group D: Selected candidates may be considered for scholarship of Rs. 2500/- per month. The scholarships are limited and may not be available to some candidates joining the course on seats reserved for OBC candidates. However, it may be provided subject to sanctioning of the same by the Government.

Selection
The selection will depend upon marks obtained in the entrance examination. The entrance test will be of MCQ type consisting of 100 questions to be answered in 60 minutes. There will be 0.25 negative marking for each wrong answer. The test will have questions of MBBS standard in the following approximate distribution:
20% from Psychiatry and allied behavioural sciences
15% from Neurology
30% from General Medicine
35% from rest of Medical subjects

For PhD in Clinical Psychology, MPhil in Medical and Social Psychology and MPhil in Psychiatric Social Work courses also the entrance test will be of MCQ type consisting of 100 questions to be answered in 60 minutes. The test will have questions of MA / MSc / MSW standard. There will be 0.25 negative marking for each wrong answer.

For Diploma in Psychiatric nursing course there shall not be a written entrance examination. However, there will be an interview for the selection of the candidates.

The minimum percentage of marks obtained in the written test to be eligible for admission to postgraduate medical courses shall be 50% for General Category candidates and 40% for the candidate belonging to Schedule Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and Physically Handicapped.

The application form is to be submitted electronically by internet to website: www.cipranchi.nic.in and a hard copy of the same application form printed on A4 size bond paper complete in all respect along with a Demand Draft of Rs.400/- for General candidate and Rs.300/- for SC/ST/OBC candidates (non-refundable) in favour of Director, CIP, Ranchi payable at Ranchi should reach the Director, Central Institute of Psychiatry, Kanke, Ranchi-834006 (Jharkhand) by December 9, 2011.

The hard copy of the application form should be duly signed and accompanied with Demand Draft, attested photocopies of all certificates, mark sheets, testimonials, Caste Certificate / Disability certificate if applicable.

Candidates applying for both MD and DPM and for both PhD (Clinical Psychology) and MPhil in Medical and Social Psychology courses starting from May 1, 2012 need to submit only one application each.

The Indian Navy has invited applications from unmarried male candidates for admission to the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala under 10+2 Cadet (B Tech) Entry Scheme, (Permanent Commission) course commencing in June 2012.

Eligibility:
Applicant should be of age 17 to 19½ years [born between 2nd January 1993 & 1st July 1995 (both dates inclusive)] and should have passed the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 Pattern) or its equivalent from University/Board with at least 70 % aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and at least 50% marks in English (either in Class X or Class XII).

Applicant should have minimum height of 157 cms with correlated weight as per age. The minimum acceptable vision standard for distant vision 6/6, 6/9 correctable to 6/6, 6/6 with glasses and should not be colour / night blind. There will be no relaxation in physical standards.

Before proceeding to fill the application online, applicant must keep the relevant documents readily available to enable correct filling up of personal particulars as given in the Matriculation Certificate and also fields such as e-mail address, mobile number which are mandatory fields to be filled.

At the site, the applicant should click on ‘Officer Entry’ button under the option 'Apply Online' on the Home Page and then fill the online registration form. Tips to assist in filling up fields will be provided when each field is highlighted. Before clicking the ‘submit’ button it should be checked whether all the details entered in the form are correct since the applicant will not be able to make any corrections after saving the record. After submitting the form, a 'Roll Number' will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. This Roll Number will automatically appear on the print out of the form also, to be taken subsequently. If the system does not generate the Roll Number, it is an indication of non-acceptance of Application by the system. Applicant should print two copies of the online Application Form having the system generated Roll Number. One copy of this Application Form is to be duly signed and posted to ‘Post Box No. 04, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi-110 021’ along with Self attested photograph, Attested photo copies of 10th & 12th class certificates, Mark Sheets, other educational certificates and mark sheets of all semester/years, so as to reach there latest by 6th December, 2011. Filling the application online/generation of Roll No. does not does not complete the application submission process. Final receipt of the printout of the online Application Form with system generated Roll Number and all documents as mentioned if received by 6th December, 2011, will be the final ‘CONFIRMATION’ of receipt of the Application at IHQ MoD (Navy).

Application is subject to subsequent scrutiny and the application can be rejected, if found INELIGIBLE at any point of time.

Selection Procedure:
Candidates will be issued call up for Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews based on their Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics marks in 10+2/equivalent Examination. Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) reserves the right to short-list applications and to fix cut off percentage. No communication will be entertained on this account. SSB interviews for short-listed candidates will be scheduled at Bangalore / Bhopal / Coimbatore during February to May 2012.

Stage I test, consisting of Intelligence Tests, Picture Perception and Discussion Tests will be conducted on the second day of arrival at SSB. Candidate who fail to qualify in Stage I will be routed back on the same day. Stage II Tests comprising of Psychological Testing, Group Testing and Interview will last for 4 days. Successful candidates will thereafter undergo Medical examination which may extent to approximately 3 to 5 days. Those recommended by the SSBs and declared medically fit, will be appointed for training in order of All India Merit depending on the number of vacancies.

Change of SSB venue for interview is not permissible. Any correspondence regarding change of SSB dates should be addressed to the President of the concerned SSB on receipt of call up letter and Directorate of Manpower Planning & Recruitment (OI&R), Room No 204, ‘C’ Wing, Sena Bhawan, IHQ-MoD (N), New Delhi-110 011. Award of fresh dates for SSB would be given by the President SSB subject to availability. No compensation will be paid in respect of any injury sustained as a result of tests. Return 3rd AC rail fare is admissible for the SSB interview, if appearing for the first time for this entry.

Training:
The training is scheduled to commence in June 2012. Selected Candidates will be inducted as Cadets for four year B Tech course in Electronics & Communication or Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala Kerala. During the course, Cadets will be allotted Executive, Engineering including Naval Architect specialisation and Electrical Branch. On completion of the course, B Tech Degree will be awarded by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). The entire cost of training, including books and reading material, will be borne by the Indian Navy. The cadets will also be provided with free clothing and messing. On successful completion of training candidates will be commissioned as Sub Lieutenant. The promotion from Sub Lieutenant to Commander is on time scale basis and thereafter on selection basis subject to fulfillment of requisite service conditions.

Dr. Manmohan Singh Scholarships 2012

British Council has invited applications for the award of the Dr Manmohan Singh Scholarships for the year 2012.

The Scholarship, instituted by the University of Cambridge in 2007, in honour of Dr Manmohan Singh the Prime Minister of India, widely acknowledged as the architect of the economic reforms that have helped propel India onto the World Stage and a Graduate and Honorary Fellow of St John’s College, aims at enabling academically outstanding Indian students to go to St. John’s College, University of Cambridge to study for Doctoral Degrees in subjects like Science & Technology, Economics and Social Sciences. Applications in Aerospace Engineering and Energy Studies will be of particular interest

The scholarships are fully funded and include Academic fees, International airfare, Monthly stipend to cover living expenses and UK Visa.

Applicant should be an Indian national with a valid Indian passport and currently based in India, should be below 35 years of age as on 31st December 2011 and should hold a Masters (Post Graduate) Degree from a reputed / recognised India University/Institution with a First Class award (UG and PG) in the relevant subject / field and should not have had significant exposure to UK education or received UK government funding. He / She should prove evidence of leadership qualities (to be assessed from personal statements related to extracurricular activities and/or evidence of having made a difference to the country / society / participation in symposia in the relevant subject, or peer reviewed publication in the area) and should be keen to pursue and should have identified a full time Doctoral Research Degree from the University of Cambridge commencing by September / October 2012. Applicant should be fluent in spoken and written English and should be able to fulfil any other admission criteria laid down by the University.

Applicants have to first identify a suitable Doctoral Programme and Supervisor at the University of Cambridge, apply for a place for September/October 2012 and secure admission. Applicants should visit the Board of Graduate Studies (BoGs) website

and make formal application to the University at the same time as to the Dr Man Mohan Singh Scholarships. However, the British Council will not be responsible for failure of on-line delivery.

Selection:
Candidates for these scholarships are selected through a process of short listing from the applications received by the British Council, followed by personal interviews, which will be held in New Delhi in April 2012. The British Council will further contact only the short-listed candidates inviting them for interviews. Applicants are requested not to contact the British Council office directly. Candidates will be expected to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements. Subsequent to the interviews the selection committee will identify the required number of candidates for the awards. The decision of the selection committee will be final. Selection results will be communicated within a month following the interview.
