Admission to BITS, Pilani - Dubai (BPD) is based entirely on the candidates merit, his/her preferences, facilities available and availability of seats in the discipline preferred. The merit position of the candidate for admission will be based only on the overall aggregate secured by the candidate in the Qualifying Examination and not based on any entrance test. While the Dubai Campus has been set-up, specially to cater to the educational requirements of the residents of the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) countries, candidates from other countries are also eligible to apply. Admissions are open to all nationalities.
BITS, Pilani - Dubai offers the following Undergraduate Programmes for the Academic Session 2009-2010, commencing 30th August 2009.

* B.E. (Hons.) Electrical & Electronics Engineering
* B.E. (Hons.) Electronics & Communication Engineering
* B.E. (Hons.) Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering
* B.E. (Hons.) Mechanical Engineering
* B.E. (Hons.) Chemical Engineering
* B.E. (Hons.) Biotechnology
Normally a student is able to finish any of the above undergraduate programmes in 4 years (8 semesters).
These degree programmes have both Practice School and Thesis/Seminar options. By judicious choice of electives, students of any of these programmes can make themselves prepared for (i) admission to higher degree programmes in the best universities of the world (ii) a good career in teaching & research (iii) multi disciplinary professional career etc.
Dual Degree
One of the most popular flexibilities provided in the BITS, Pilani's educational structure is the Dual Degree Scheme. Under this scheme, it is possible for a student to work for and complete two Degrees within a reasonable period of time. All the admitted students are given an opportunity to take up a Dual Degree based on their performance in the first year of the programme.
For example: A Student who has been allotted Chemical Engineering or any other discipline can choose to take Computer Science or any other discipline as his/her Dual Degree, if he/she maintains the prescribed criteria(CGPA of 7 or more) in the first year. In such a case, he/she will take a minimum of one additional year and pay an additional Admission/Tuition fee to complete both the degree programmes and receive the Degree in respective disciplines.
Fee Structure
Fees mentioned below is the currently prevailing fee structure.The fee is under revision for the academic year 2009-10.

* Application fee* : Dhs. 150/- ( payable at the time of submitting the application)
* Admission fee* : Dhs. 1200/-
* Activity fee : Dhs. 1000/-
* Tuition Fee : Dhs. 15000/- per semester (payable in 2 installments)
*Non-Refundable
Hostel Fee**
* Hostel Fee : Dhs.8500/- per semester
* Internet Facility : Dhs. 750/- per annum
* Hostel Caution Deposit : Dhs. 2000/- ( payable at the time of admission only)
**Refundable after due adjustment for damages, breakages caused by the student, if any.
Transport Fee
* Dubai : Dhs. 1500/- per semester
* Sharjah and Ajman : Dhs. 1750/- per semester
Visa Fee
* Fresh Visa : Dhs. 2100/- per annum ( Valid for 1 year )
* Visa Renewal : Dhs. 1500/- per annum ( payable in 2 nd , 3 rd & 4 th year )
**** Currently prevailing fee and is subject to change on the instructions of Govt. of UAE.
Medical Insurance Fee****
* Insurance Fee including dental cover : Dhs. 1550/- per annum
**** If not already insured from a UAE based insurance company.
Each academic year consists of two semesters. In addition to the above, student who opts for the Practice School (PS) program, will be required to pay PS - I fee of Dhs. 3500/- excluding hostel & transport, at the end of the 2nd year.
Crossed Cheques & Drafts should be drawn in favour of M/s. ETA - NET. If the payment is made in US $ demand drafts, an amount of US $ 50 to be added along with the fees amount, payable towards Bank charges.
Please note that only the net amount of fee (both tuition & hostel fee) will be accepted by the institution and any charges towards clearance ,collection etc must be borne by the student.

BITS, Pilani - Dubai (BPD) was established in Dubai in September 2000 in response to the growing needs for Quality Engineering Education among the residents of Middle East. It is the only international branch campus of BITS, Pilani and was set-up in association with ETA-Net, a member of the ETA Ascon Group. Recently BITS Pilani Dubai, has been awarded the coveted A grade and 'Very Good' status ranking from NAAC (National Assessment & Accreditation Council) as a branch campus of BITS Pilani. Over a period of 8 years, BPD's student strength has grown to about 1730 with students seeking admission from not only UAE and other Middle East Countries but also from India and other parts of the world.

Admissions Have fallen down to 317 students(2009-2013 batch), compared to admission 650 students previous(2008-2012)batch.
