The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2009 for admission to the Under-Graduate & Post Graduate Programmes in Law for 2009-10 in eleven Law Schools (as applicable), namely (i) NLSIU, Bangalore (ii) NALSAR, Hyderabad (iii) NLIU, Bhopal (iv) WBNUJS, Kolkata (v) NLU, Jodhpur (vi) HNLU, Raipur (vii) GNLU, Gandhinagar (viii) RMLNLU, Lucknow (ix) RGNUL, Patiala (x) CNLU, Patna and (xi) NUALS, Kochi will be held from 3 pm to 5 pm (Sunday) at Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jodhpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, New Delhi, Patiala, Patna anmd Raipur on May 17, 2009 .

Those with 10+2 or equivalent qualification with not less than 50% marks for General and 45% marks for SC/ST/OBC/Persons with Disability can apply. Those taking the qualifying examination in March/April 2009 are also eligible to apply. Applicants should not be more than 20 years of age in case of General and 22 years of age in case of SC/ST/OBC/Persons with Disability as on 1st July, 2009.

For Post Graduate Programmes at NLSIU, NALSAR, NLIU, WBNUJS, HNLU, GNLU, RMLNLU and RGNUL, applicant should have LL.B/BL with 55 % marks in aggregate (50% marks in case of SC/ST/OBC/Persons with Disability).

For all courses, the relaxations in marks, age etc., for OBC/Persons with Disability is subject to the reservation at the University Concerned.

Printed application forms along with CLAT 2009 Information Brochure will be available at the following branches of State Bank of India and Indian Bank against payment of Rs.2500/-(Rs.2000/- in case of SC/ST on production of proof) in cash.

The Entrance Examination for admission to the UG Programme will have 200 questions with a total of 200 marks and weightage of 40 marks for English including Comprehension, 50 marks for General Knowledge / Current Affairs, 20 marks for Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability), 45 marks for Legal Aptitude and 45 marks for Logical Reasoning.

For the PG Entrance Examination carrying a total of 200 marks, questions will be covering Law of Contracts, Law of Torts, Family Law, Criminal Law, Constitutional Law and Legal Theory. There will be Objective type, Short answer type and Essay questions. Details are given in the Information Brochure.
