ADMISSIONS 2009-2010

The Central Institute of Plastic Engineering & Technology (CIPET), under the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India, having the Corporate office located at Guindy, Chennai-600 002, has invited applications for admission to various Under Graduate and Post Graduate Programmes for 2009.Programmes, Course duration and eligibility are as follows:

Post Graduate Programmes of 2 years duration:

M.Tech (Plastics Engg/Technology) : 4 years BE/B.Tech Degree in Mechanical/Chemical/Production/Polymer/Plastics Technology/Engg or M.Sc in Polymer Science/Chemistry with Polymer Specialization. Course is offered at Ahmedabad, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Hajipur and Lucknow. Maximum age is 35 years. 

M.Tech (Nano-Technology): 4 years BE/B.Tech Degree in Plastics Engg/Technology/ Polymer/Chemical or M.Sc in Polymer Chemistry/Physical Chemistry/Electronics. Course is offered at Laboratory for Advance Research in Polymeric materials (LARPM), Bhubaneswar. Maximum age is 35 years. 

M.Tech (CAD/CAM/CAE): 4 years BE/B.Tech Degree in Mechanical/ Production/ Plastics Technology/ Engg/ Tool Engg/ Aeronautics/ Automobile/ Mechatronics. Course is offered at Advanced Research School for Technology & Product Simulation (ARSTPS), Chennai.  Maximum age is 35 years. 

Under-Graduate Programme of 4 years duration:

B.Tech (Plastics Engineering/Technology) of 4 years duration: 10+2 (Academic stream) with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with minimum 60% aggregate marks. Course is offered at Ahmedabad, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Lucknow. Maximum age is 21 years.

PG Diploma/Post Diploma /Diploma Programmes: (Courses will be held at Ahmedabad*, Amristar, Aurangabad, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar*, Chennai*, Guwahati, Hajipur, Haldia, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jaipur, Lucknow*, Mysore and Panipat - *separate campus for Diploma Programmes).

P G Diploma in Plastics Processing and Testing (1½ Years) - 3 year Degree in Science with Chemistry as one of the subjects. Maximum age is 24 years.

Diploma in Plastics Mould Technology (3 Years)/ Post Diploma in Plastics Mould Technology (4 Years Integrated Dual Diploma) - 10th Std. with Mathematics, English and Science. Maximum age is 19 years.

Diploma in Plastics Technology (3 Years)/ Post Diploma in Plastics Technology (4 Years integrated Dual Diploma) - 10th Std. with Mathematics, English and Science. Maximum age is 19 years.

Applicant should choose to opt for 3 years Diploma/4 years Post Diploma at the time of admission.  Selection to the Programmes will be based on the Joint Entrance Examination to be held on 14th June 2009. Age relaxation up to 5 years will be available for applicants (i) belonging to SC/ST (ii) sponsored by the Industry and (ii) from North-Eastern States. Those awaiting results can also apply.

Applications can be obtained in person from any of the CIPET Centres by remitting a Registration fee of Rs.400/- by cash. It can be obtained by Post from any of the centres by sending a Crossed Demand Draft drawn in favour of 'Director General, CIPET', payable at the respective centres on any Nationalized Bank, dated not earlier than 01.03.2009, with a Self- addressed envelope of size 35 cm x 25 cm with stamps worth Rs.50/- affixed on it.

Completed form should reach Chief Manager (Training & Planning), CIPET-Corporate, T V K Industrial Estate, Guindy, Chennai – 600 032 latest by 18th May 2009.
