Admission into M. Tech (Mechatronics) -2009

2.Application
Applications are invited in the prescribed form for full-time Post Graduate course in Mechatronics Engineering, conducted under Industry-Institution joint programme leading to M.Tech. Degree for the academic year 2009-11.

1. Master of Technology (M.Tech) – Mechatronics
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering/ Electronics Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Instrumentation Engineering/ Automobile Engineering/ Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent with minimum of 55% marks in the qualifying examination from the Institutions approved by AICTE. The GATE rank holders also need to qualify themselves in the Entrance Test.

Course Fee: Rs.32.000/- per semester admitted under self-sponsored category and Rs.40,000/- per semester for Industry sponsored category.

a) Self Sponsored 20 seats.
b) Industry sponsored 05 seats.

1. DURATION: 24 months (4 semesters)
2. AGE : No age limit. However, candidates below 45 years of age are preferred.
3. EXPERIENCE: (For Sponsored candidates only)
Minimum 2 years of professional experience after passing qualifying examination as on 31.08.09.
4. ADMISSION: Admission is purely based on rank obtained in the Entrance Test to be conducted by JNTU, Hyderabad. Entrance Test is compulsory and common for all categories of candidates including sponsored, non-sponsored.

5. DATE OF ENTRANCE TEST & CENTRE: 10.09.09 (Thursday) at 10:00 am JNTU, Hyderabad – 500 007.

6. HOW TO APPLY: Prescribed application forms with full details can be obtained from Central Institute of Tool Design, Balanagar, Hyderabad-37, by sending a crossed Demand Draft for Rs.500/-(Rs.250/- for SC/ST candidates and fully exempted for PWD category candidates) drawn in favor of Principal Director, Central Institute of Tool Design, Balanagar, Hyderabad- 500 037 on any Nationalised Bank payable at Hyderabad. The SC/ST candidates need to enclose a copy of the Caste certificate attested by a Gazetted Officer. Envelope containing the request for application form and other details should be super scribed with “request for application for M.Tech (Mechatronics) course. A self addressed envelope (size 26 cm x 13 cm) duly fixed with Rs.15/- stamp also should be sent. Application forms can also be downloaded from their website www.citdindia.org .

The crossed Demand Draft for Rs.500/-(Rs.250/- for SC/ST candidates and fully exempted for PWD category candidates) drawn in favor of Principal Director, Central Institute of Tool Design, Balanagar, Hyderabad-500037 on any Nationalised Bank payable at Hyderabad should be enclosed along with the downloaded application form.

Candidates seeking admission under non-sponsored, sponsored category have to indicate order of preference in the application form. However the Entrance Test for all the categories will be common.

8. a) Last date for submission of duly filled in application forms at CITD upto 5:00 pm. : 28.08.09
b) Last date for receipt of filled –in application forms with late fee of Rs.200/- at CITD upto 5:00 pm. : 31.08.09
9. a) In respect of candidates sponsored by the Industries, the sponsoring authorities have to forward the application with sponsoring letter, clearly indicating that they shall not withdraw the candidate from the course till its completion.
b) Candidates appearing for final year degree can also apply for the course provided they secure a final pass in the qualifying exam at the time of the admission and they should produce the provisional degree certificate. If the candidate fails to produce the provisional degree certificate on the day of counseling, the admission will be summarily rejected.
c) Reservations exist as per Govt. of India rules.
d) The Institute is not responsible for any postal delay.
e) The rules made by the advisory committee regarding selection and closure of the admissions shall be final and the committee reserves the right to alter, vary, change and, /or modify the rules governing the admissions. The candidates are advised to refer the instructions provided with the application form and prospectus.

The Institute was initially established as an United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Project and was executed by International Labour Organisation (ILO).
