MASTER OF TECHNOLOGY (M.Tech) PROGRAMME IN COMMUNICATION ENGG.
1. General:
The M.Tech Programme in Communication Engineering offered by Amal Jyothi College of Engineering (AJCE) (Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Accredited by National Board of Accreditation, AICTE, New Delhi), is approved by the AICTE and affiliated to the M.G. University, Kottayam,Kerala.
The course leading to the degree of Master of Technology will span a period of Four Semesters (2 Years). The Span of a semester will be six months covering 450 working hours. During the final Semester every student will be required to submit thesis/dissertation based on the project undertaken in partial fulfillment of the requirement for the award of the Masters Degree.
2. Curriculum
The curriculum will comprise a course of study as given in the scheme in accordance with the prescribed syllabi.
Candidates will be required to undertake a suitable master’s research project work and industrial training in consultation with the head of the department and the faculty advisor and submit the project report & industrial training report there on at the end of the respective semesters, on dates announced by the college/department.
3.Eligibility for Admission:
(a)Admissions will be regulated by the directions from M.G. University and the Government of Kerala.
(b) The candidates shall be Indian Nationals.
(c) The candidate shall have completed the prescribed qualification from an institution approved by the AICTE/Deemed Universities.
(d) The candidate shall possess a Bachelors degree in the appropriate branch* of engineering (*with a strong focus in the area of Electronics Engg.) with a minimum 55% aggregate or equivalent and thereto as approved by the M.G University.
(e) For SC/ST candidates a pass in the Engineering Degree Course is sufficient.
(f) Candidates who have passed AMIE/AMIETE Examination and satisfying the following
conditions are eligible for admission to institutions under Kerala University.
(i) They must have a valid GATE Score.
(ii) A minimum marks of 55% for the section B in AMIE/AMIETE examination.
(iii) Minimum 3 years of professional experience in the field of specialization after
acquiring the qualifying degree.
(g) Candidates who have appeared for the final examination may also apply provided their results are made available at the time of admission.
(h) Candidates having valid GATE scores shall be preferred. This stipulation is relaxed in the case of Sponsored candidates.
(i) Non- GATE candidates can also apply.
(j) In case seats remain vacant due to lack of candidates with valid GATE Scores, candidates from Kerala State without valid GATE score will be considered against such vacancies.
(k) Candidates from universities other than M.G.University, Kottayam are directed to submit a “Eligibility Certificate� M.G.University, Kottayam at the time of admission.

5.HOW TO APPLY
Applications forms can be obtained from the College office on cash payment of Rs.500/- or can be downloaded from the college website www.amaljyothi.ac.in . Downloaded applications are to be submitted with a DD of Rs.500/- (Rupees Five hundred only) drawn in favour of “Principal - Amal Jyothi College of Engineering at Kanjirapally�. Duly filled application form along with self attested copies of necessary documents are to be submitted in person or by Registered post with A/D to the college so as to reach on or before the prescribed date.
Copies of documents to be submitted along with the applications forms :
a) Qualifying examination certificate / provisional certificate and mark lists.
b) GATE score card (for candidates with valid Gate score, if applicable)
c) Community certificate issued by the competent authority for candidates claiming eligibility for reservation under SC/ST/ reservation quota.
d) Proof of date of birth.
e) Sponsorship certificate from the competent authority (For sponsored candidates).
f) Experience certificate (if applicable).
Incomplete applications or those not accompanied by supporting documents will be summarily rejected.
6.PROCEDURE FOR SELECTION.
a) The selection of the candidate will be based on the GATE score and a personal interview.
b) If sufficient GATE qualified candidates are not available, the selection will be based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and the interview.
c) Sponsored candidates will be selected on the basis of their experience and the marks obtained in their qualifying examinations.
d) Merit list for the different categories will be published in the website/college notice boards.
e) Selection shall be strictly on the basis of merit. Selected candidates will be notified individually.
f) Selected candidate shall take admission at the appointed time after paying the tuition fees and other fees including those to be paid to the university. Transfer certificate issued from the institution last attended must be produced at the time of admission.
g) Selected candidates are required to deposit their original certificates at the College Office.
7.FEES TO BE PAID:
Student’s affiliation fee : Rs.250/-(One-time-Payable to M.G.University)
Tuition fee : Rs. 30750/- Per semester
Caution Deposit : Rs.10000/- (One-time & Refundable)
Admission fee : Rs.250/- (One-time)
* Other fees including Library fee, Special Fee, etc. will be collected as applicable.

MASTER OF COMPUTER APPLICATIONS (MCA)
1. General:
The MCA offered by Amal Jyothi College of Engineering (AJCE) (Department of Computer Science and Engineering), is approved by the AICTE and affiliated to the M.G. University, Kottayam, Kerala.
The course leading to the degree of Master of Computer Applications will span a period of Six Semesters (3 Years), each semester spanning six months. Master of Computer Applications (MCA) is a program intended to train graduates in Engineering, Science, Commerce with Mathematics as one of the subjects in development and the use of software for different applications. The major thrust is on giving the students a sound background in computing, business functions and mathematics relevant to information technology.

OR
A pass in BCA degree of minimum three years duration from a recognized university.
(d) Candidates who have appeared for the final examination may also apply provided their results are made available at the time of admission.
(e) Candidates from universities other than M.G.University, Kottayam are directed to submit an Eligibility Certificate M.G.University, Kottayam at the time of admission.
