WCCL Foundation's ABT Certificate Course 2010
ABT is the evidence-based use of art forms (music, drama and visual arts) to accomplish therapeutic goals for individuals and/or in a group.
WCCL Foundation is dedicated to the practice, research and teaching of ABT.
The ABT Certificate Course started in 2005. Now, 76 ABT Practitioners are working with organisations serving special needs people across India.
Course Highlights:
· Designed for professionals working with organisations serving special needs groups
· Modular and part time, i.e. except two intensive modules (January and April 2010) in Pune (Maharashtra) , all other coursework at students' organisation
· Contribution to organisation – ABT integrates into the organization's framework and supports its healing objectives
· Inclusion – not exclusion; anybody can do it - ABT Course is designed for 'non-artists'.
· Intensive training in theory, skills and practice of ABT spread over 9 months (January – September 2010); this implies supervised long-term guidance. It is NOT a workshop.
· Subsidized Fees - fees are subsidized with a funding support from J.R.D. Tata Trust. Fees include ABT kit to work with ten people at a time.
