Applications have been invited for Centralized Online Counseling for admission to 5-Year B.A., LL.B/B.A., LL.B (Hons) and 3-Year LL.B. Courses of Academic Year 2011-12 in the Departments/Regional Centres of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar and Punjabi University, Patiala and the colleges affiliated to Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, Panjab University, Chandigarh and Punjabi University, Patiala.

Educational Qualifications: (As per Bar Council of India as follows)
(a) Three Year Law Degree Course:
An applicant who has graduated in any discipline of knowledge from a University established by an Act of Parliament or by a State legislature or an equivalent national institution recognized as a Deemed to be University or foreign University recognized as equivalent to the status of an Indian University by an authority competent to declare equivalence, may apply for a three years’ degree program in law leading to conferment of LL.B. degree on successful completion of the regular program conducted by a University whose degree in law is recognized by the Bar Council of India for the purpose of enrolment.

(b) Integrated Degree Program:
An applicant who has successfully completed Senior Secondary School course (‘+2’) or equivalent (such as 11+1, ‘A’ level in Senior School Leaving certificate course) from a recognized University of India or outside or from a Senior Secondary Board or equivalent, constituted or recognized by the Union or by a State Government or from any equivalent institution from a foreign country recognized by the government of that country for the purpose of issue of qualifying certificate on successful completion of the course, may apply for and be admitted into the program of the Centres of Legal Education to obtain the integrated degree in law with a degree in any other subject as the first degree from the University whose such a degree in law is recognized by the Bar Council of India for the purpose of enrolment.
Provided that applicants who have obtained + 2 Higher Secondary Pass Certificate or First Degree Certificate after prosecuting studies in distance or correspondence method shall also be considered as eligible for admission in the Integrated Five Years course or three years’ LL.B. course, as the case may be.

Minimum marks in qualifying examination for admission:
The minimum percentage of marks should be not below 45% of the total marks in case of general category applicants and 40% of the total marks in case of SC and ST applicants, to be obtained for the qualifying examination.

Age on admission:
(a) Subject to the condition stipulated by a University on this behalf and the high degree of professional commitment required, the maximum age for seeking admission into a stream of integrated Bachelor of law degree program, is limited to twenty years in case of general category of applicants and to twenty two years in case of applicants from SC, ST and other Backward communities.

(b) Subject to the condition stipulated by a University, and the general social condition of the applicants seeking legal education belatedly, the maximum age for seeking admission into a stream of Three Year Bachelor Degree Course in Law, is limited to thirty years with right of the University to give concession of 5 further years for the applicant belonging to SC or ST or any other Backward Community.

Online Submission of Application Forms:
The application form shall be submitted by the candidates online at the website: www.punjablawadmissions2011.org
Each Candidate shall deposit counseling fee in any branch of State Bank of Patiala after taking out a print of deposit slip as per details below:
(i) Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Candidates: Rs. 500 each.
(ii) Other Candidates (Other than SC/ST): Rs. 1000 each.

5. Registration for First Counseling

7. Display of available seats for second counseling: 06-08-2011
8. Registration for Second Counseling

9. Counseling at allotted college and deposit of fee: 13-08-2011
10. Display of available seats for third counseling: 16-08-2011
11. Registration for Third Counseling

b. Display of Allocated list 20-08-2011
12. Counseling at allotted college and deposit of fee: 23-08-2011
