The Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur promotes
multidisciliplinary education and research through its various academics
programmes. Administering its programmes through Centres of Excellence, IIT
Jodhpur transcends the compartmentalization of education brought about by
departments, and aims at excellence in teaching and research that would benefit
both the academic and the industry.
IIT Jodhpur invites applications for admissions to
the PhD programmes in the following disciplines
1. Computer
Science and Engineering
2. Electrical
Engineering (Including Electrical, Electronics and Communication)
3. Mechanical
Engineering
4. Physics
5. Chemistry
6. Mathematics
7. Philosophy,
Economics, English, Psychology
8. Materials
Science
9. Biological
and Cognitive Sciences
for the semester commencing from December 2013.
At present interdisciplinary research in areas of
Engineering, Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences are conducted under the
following research centres
1. Centre of Excellence in Biologically Inspired
Systems Science
2. Centre of Excellence in Energy
3. Centre of Excellence in Information and
Communication Technology
4. Centre of Excellence in Systems Science

Procedure:
Candidates are requested to use the following link
to fill and submit the application form online.
For December 2013 admission, the online link will remain
active till November 25, 2013. The summary sheet, final submitted application,
demand draft & a copy of GATE/UGC/CSIR score card should reach us by
November 29, 2013.
Candidates are requested to send online generated
summary sheet & final submitted application duly signed along with the
processing fee of Rs.300/- for General/ OBC candidates and Rs.150/- for
SC/ST/PD candidates in the form of demand draft drawn from a nationalized bank
in favour of "Director, IIT Jodhpur" payable at Jodhpur to the
following address:

Minimum Educational Qualification requirement for;
Ph.D. (Engineering): M.Tech./ME/M. Sc. (Engg.)
degree or equivalent
B. Tech/BE/M. Sc. degree with a valid GATE score.
Ph.D. (Sciences and HSS): M.Sc./M.A. Degree in
respective or equivalent area with a valid GATE/UGC/CSIR score.
Part-time/Sponsored Category Candidates: Three
years of relevant experience is needed for those with M. Tech degree and five
years of relevant experience is needed for those with B. Tech or M. Sc. degree.
This category is only for those who are working in research labs or in similar
institutions. Please note that no financial assistance will be provided under
this category.
Financial Assistance:
Financial Assistance in the form of assistantship/
scholarship/ fellowship for a specified duration will be provided to eligible
Ph.D. students (FULL TIME) as per the Institute norms or as per the funding
agency norms (UGC / CSIR / DBT/ NBHM/ INSPIRE) of the assistantship.
Reservation Policy:
The MHRD, Government of India norms are applicable.
