10+2 Cadet (B Tech) Entry Scheme (Permanent Commission) Course commencing in July 2014

Indian Navy has invited applications from unmarried male candidates for admission to the 10+2 Cadet (B Tech) Entry Scheme (Permanent Commission) Course, at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala, commencing in July 2014.

Applicant should be 17 to 19½ years old. He should have been born on or after 2nd January, 1995 but on or before 1st July, 1997.

Applicant should have passed the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 pattern) or its equivalent from University/Board with a minimum  aggregate of 70%marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) together and at least 50% marks in English, either in Class X or Class XII.

Minimum height needed is 157 cm with correlated weight as per age. The minimum acceptable vision standards for distant vision is 6/6, 6/9correctable to 6/6, 6/6with glasses. There will be no relaxation in physical standards.

Application can be submitted only in the online mode (e-application) up to 5th January, 2014, at www.nausena-bharti.nic.in.  Only one application will be received from one candidate. Applicant should keep ready, all certificates related to educational qualifications; valid email address, mobile number etc ready. At the website, the applicant shouldclick on the ‘Officer Entry’ button under the option 'Apply Online' in the Home Page and fill the online registration form. Tips for assisting applicants for filling up fields will be provided as and when the applicant highlights each field.

After filling the form, applicant should click on ‘Preview’ and check whether all the information entered in the form are correct. Before clicking the Print Application button, it should be ensured that all details entered in the form are correct as the applicant will not be able to make any correction after saving the record. Applicant can take the printout of the application by giving the relevant details.

Applicant should print two copies of the online Application Form having the system generated Application Number. One copy of this is to be duly signed and posted by normal post to ‘Post Box No. 04, GPO, New Delhi-110001, along with self-attested photograph and attested photo copies of 10th& 12th class certificates and Mark Sheets to reach latest by 15th January, 2014. Application sent by Speed Post, Courier and Registered Post will not be accepted. The cover should be super-scribed, ‘ONLINE APPLICATION NO. ----------------- APPLICATION FOR 10+2 CADET (B.Tech) ENTRY SCHEME-July 2014 COURSE Qualification PCM Percentage --------------- %’. Application and enclosures must be properly tagged/stapled.

Final receipt of the printout of the online Application Form with system generated Application Number and all documents will be the final confirmationof receipt of the Application at IHQ MoD (Navy), if received by 15th January, 2014. Filling the application online/generation of Application Number does not imply that the candidate has fulfilled all the criteria given in the advertisement. All applications are subject to subsequent scrutiny.

Applicants will be issued call up letter for Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews based on their PCM marks in 10+2/equivalent Examination. Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) will short-list applications and fix cut off percentage. No communication will be entertained on this account. Applicants can read the instructions on the conduct of the SSB by clicking on the instructions for SSB button at the website.

SSB interviews for short-listed candidates will be scheduled at Bangalore/Bhopal/Coimbatore during February to May 2014. Change of SSB venue is not permissible. Any correspondence regarding change of SSB dates should be addressed to the President of the concerned SSB. Award of fresh dates for SSB would be given by the President SSB subject to availability. No compensation will be paid in respect of any injury sustained as a result of tests. Return 3rd AC rail fare is admissible for the SSB interview, if appearing for the first time for the same type of commission.

SSB will be a two stage test. Stage I test, consisting of Intelligence Tests, Picture Perception and Discussion Tests will be conducted on the second day of arrival at SSB. Candidate who fail to qualify in Stage I will be routed back on the same day. Stage II Tests comprising of Psychological Testing, Group Testing and Interview will last for 4 days. Successful candidates will thereafter undergo Medical examination which will be approximately of 3 to 5 days duration.

Those recommended by the SSBs and declared medically fit, will be appointed for training as per order of All India Merit depending on the number of vacancies. The training is scheduled to commence in July, 2014. Selected candidates will be inducted as Cadets for four year B Tech course in Electronics & Communication or Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala Kerala. During the course, Cadets will be allotted Executive or Engineering including Naval Architect specialisation or Electrical branch. On completion of the course, B Tech Degree will be awarded by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). The entire cost of training, including books and reading material, will be borne by the Indian Navy.


The cadets will also be provided with free clothing and messing.
