Ph.D. (English) Admission Notice 2014
Applications on the prescribed proforma are invited
by Unversity of Delhi for admission to Ph.D. programme of the Department
alongwith 10 copies of the synopsis (Application Form can be bought from Room
No.17, Arts Faculty Building, Main Campus, University of Delhi) so as to reach
in the Office of the Department of English, University of Delhi, Arts Faculty
Building, University of Delhi – 110007 on or before January 20, 2014 by 4.00 p.m.
The application should be complete in all respects.
All the research proposals received by the prescribed date will be considered
by the Ph.D. Committee of the Department before being discussed at the
Departmental Research Committee (DRC).
It may be noted that all admissions to the Ph.D. programme shall be
strictly in accordance with the eligibility conditions laid down in the
Ordinance VI-B. The candidates are advised to consult the Ordinance VI-B for detailed eligibility criteria
available on the website of the University of Delhi.
Following the scrutiny of applications by the
Office, the candidates will be required to respond to proposal-specific
questions in the form of a formal test. Those candidates who qualify will be
required to be present at a formal interview. Marks from the three sections
(proposal, test, interview) will be collated and successful candidates will be
allotted supervisors by the DRC. However, it is advisable that the candidates
inform the DRC at the time of interview if they have consulted any member of
the faculty.
The date and venue of the entrance test will be
announced two weeks in advance.
