PhD Aptitude Test 2014 (Ph.D Entrance 2014)
Applications are invited by Mahatma Gandhi
University, Kottayam from eligible candidates for Written Aptitude Test for
registration for research leading to the award of Ph.D. degree of this
University for the year 2014.
Eligibility to apply
Candidates who have passed the Post-graduate
Examination in any discipline of Mahatma Gandhi University or of other
Universities recognized as equivalent thereto, securing not less than 55% marks
in the aggregate, are eligible to apply for the Written Aptitude Test.
For SC/ST candidates the minimum marks required for
application is 50% in the aggregate in the Post Graduate Examination.
Candidates awaiting results of their PG
examinations can also apply, but they shall qualify the PG Degree on or before
31.07.2014.
All the candidates who desire to apply for Ph.D.
admission in the University Schools/Departments/Inter University Centres and
approved Research Centres have to appear for the Written Aptitude Test.
Exemption from the Written Aptitude Test
The following categories of candidates are exempted
from appearing for the Written Aptitude Test.
A. JRF candidates
B. UGC Teacher Fellows
C. M.Phil. & M.Tech. (all disciplines), MD
& MS (Medicine) holders in the subject of research concerned.
D. Regular and permanent teachers from the
University Departments and the Government/ Aided Colleges affiliated to Mahatma
Gandhi University.
E. Candidates who have become qualified in the
NET/SLET/GATE/GPAT or other tests conducted by such Government bodies as UGC,
CSIR,ICAR and DST
F. DST Women Scientist Awardees
G. KSCST/INSPIRE Fellowship Awardees
H. Scientists from the Accredited R&D
Institutions.
I. Candidates who hold a valid certificate for
having qualified in the research aptitude test conducted by Mahatma Gandhi
University.
Fee for application:
Candidates have to remit Rs.1, 000/- (Rupees One
Thousand Only) as application fee . Fee can be remitted through Mahatma Gandhi
University Cash Counter/Friends/SBT chalan. For SC/ST candidates, the fee for
application is Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred Only).

The filled in application with enclosures addressed
to the Registrar, Mahatma Gandhi University, Priyadarshini Hills P.O, Kottayam,
Pin Code 686 560 shall reach on or before 10.03.2014.
Enclosures
should be with the application:
1. Fee receipt.
2. Attested copies of the PG Degree Certificate and
the P.G Marklists.
3. Caste Certificate for SC/ST candidates.
4. Certificate from the Head of the Institution
regarding the appearance of final P.G examination (for those awaiting
P.G.Degree results).
