Part-Time B.Tech Course Admission Notice 2014-2015
Applications are invited for admission of
candidates to Part Time (PT) B. Tech Programmes (4 years) in Electrical &
Electronics Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering at
Model Engineering College under IHRD for the academic year 2014-2015. The
classes will be conducted normally in the evening on all working days and on
holidays, if necessary in accordance with the syllabi of the Cochin University
of Science and Technology (CUSAT).
Eligibility for Admission
Nativity: Candidates shall be Indian Nationals,
either native of Kerala State or employed in Kerala State.
Academic Eligibility: A pass in the Diploma
Examination in any one of the following disciplines in Engineering, with a minimum
of 50% aggregate marks:
Electronics Engineering / Electronics &
Communication Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Applied Electronics /
Instrument Technology / Electronics &Instrumentation / Biomedical
Engineering / Medical Electronics /Medical Instrumentation / Electronics &
Avionics / Electronic Production Technology / Telecommunication Technology.
Experience: Candidates shall be presently
working and shall have a minimum of two years work experience in a registered
firm/ Company/ Industry/ Educational and/or Research Institute /
Government/Quasi-Government or Government Autonomous Organizations after
obtaining the diploma in any of the above disciplines.
Training of any kind will not be considered as
experience. However one year Apprenticeship training under Apprenticeship Act
will be considered as experience for the limited purpose of admission to B.Tech
(Part-Time) program.

Application form for admission is to be
completed online through the website www.mec.ac.in
The print out of the online application along
with required application fee and documents are to be submitted to the
Principal, Model Engineering College, Thrikkakara, Cochin-682021 on or before 8th August
2014.
The application fee for all candidates will be
Rs 500/-.
Application fee once remitted shall not be
refunded under any circumstances. Applications without application fee as DD
will summarily be rejected.
Mode of Payment: Application fee will be
received only by way of Demand Draft (DD) drawn on a Nationalized/Scheduled
Bank (Preferably State Bank of Travancore), in favour of the Principal, Model
Engineering College payable at Edappally/Ernakulam.
Documents to be attached along with print out
of application: True copies of:
(a) Nativity Certificate and Age proof.
(b) Diploma Certificate.
(c) Mark Lists of Diploma Examination.
(d) Present professional employment certificate
as given in the Annexure.
(e) Community Certificate and /or annual family
income certificate for the SEBC/SC/ST candidates as the case may be.
(f) Experience certificate as proof of having 2
years work experience as stated at 5(c).
Selected candidates shall produce a No
Objection Certificate, in the format given in Annexure, at the time of joining.
