IIITD&M Kancheepuram has invited applications
for admission to following programmes of Academic Session July 2015.
MDes (Communication / Electronic / Mechanical
Systems) - Full Time - Two years
PhD (Computer / Electronics / Mechanical Engg /
Mathematics / Physics)
A. MDes:
Eligibility
A. Candidates having valid GATE (2014 / 2015) score
i. Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Technology /
Architecture from educational Institutions approved by AICTE / Government or
ii. Candidates yet to appear or have appeared in
the final examination for the qualifying degree specified in [i] and whose
results are likely to be declared by July 2015, or
iii. Associate Membership holders of the
professional bodies for admission into their parent disciplines from the
following:
• The Institution of Engineers (India) (AMIE)
• The Institution of Electronics &
Tele-communication Engineering (AMIETE)
B. Eligibility for IIT / IIIT BTech Candidates
Candidates graduating / graduated from IITs / IIITs
with BTech degree and having CGPA of 7.5 and above for SC/ST and 8.0 and above
for others can apply without GATE Score
C. Eligibility for Sponsored Candidates
Candidates working and sponsored (with full pay and
allowances for 24 months) by industry / government organizations / private and
public enterprises recognized by DST engaged in R & D work / engineering
colleges recognized by AICTE, possessing at least two years of professional
experience as on the last date of receipt of applications at IIITD&M can
apply, provided they hold:
i. BE / BTech degree from AICTE recognized
Engineering Colleges / university with first class or 60% aggregate marks in
all the four years (no need of having GATE Score) ; or
ii. AMIE and other Associate memberships (listed
above) with a valid GATE Score
Application Forms:
Application forms can be downloaded from the

Documents to be enclosed along with the Application
Form:
a. The completed Application form should accompany
a DD for Rs. 150 (Rs.75 for SC / ST / PD / Female Candidates). DD should be in
favour of ‘The Registrar, IIITD&M Kancheepuram’, payable at Chennai.
b. Copy of the valid GATE score
c. Copy of School Leaving Certificate (SSLC)
towards proof of date of birth
d. Copies of all the Mark sheets / grade cards,
degree certificates beginning from 10TH Standard towards proof of
qualification. [Original certificates should not be enclosed].
e. Copy of the Community Certificate in the case of
SC / ST / OBC candidates issued by the respective State Government. The OBC
candidates have to submit an attested copy of the valid non-creamy layer
certificate in the prescribed form issued by competent authority. The format
attached as Annexure I and II with the application form could be used for this
purpose.
f. Sponsorship Certificate from the employer in the
prescribed format attached as Annexure III with the application form in the
case of sponsored candidates.
g. Copy of proof of Experience certificate if any
B. PhD
The scholars admitted to the PhD programmes under
the regular scheme (Fulltime) are eligible for the Half-time Teaching /
Research Assistantship (HTRA) under the following regulations:
(a) The scholars should work for 8 hours per week
to earn this assistantship.
(b) Renewal of assistantship every semester will be
contingent on enrolment, satisfactory progress in research work and good
performance during the preceding semester in the discharge of responsibility as
teaching / research assistant.
Rs.25,000/- 1st & 2nd Year Upon successful
assessment by the review committee after period of two years.
Rs.28,000/- 3rd& 4th year (for science student
up to 5th year)
Eligibility:
1. Electronics: Engineering Master's degree in
Electrical Engineering (Electrical and Electronics Engineering) / Electronics
Engineering (Electronics and Communication Engineering) / Instrumentation
Engineering or Master's degree in Physics followed by a Master's degree in
Engineering in an area of relevance to the area of research.
2. Mathematics: Master's Degree in Mathematics /
Statistics / Physics / Computer Science with GATE / UGC / CSIR / NBHM or MTech
(Industrial Mathematics & Scientific Computing) or any MTech degree with
Master's degree in Mathematics / Physics / Statistics / Computer Science.
3. Mechanical Engineering: Master's degree in
Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Automobile Engineering,
Automotive Engine Tech, Energy Engineering, Industrial Engineering,
Instrumentation, Maintenance Management, Metallurgical Engineering, Production
/ Manufacturing Engineering / Mechatronics / CAD / CAM / CIM and in related
areas depending on the research topics

Documents to be enclosed along with the Application
Form:
(a) The completed Application form should accompany
a DD for Rs. 250 (Rs.125 for SC/ST/PD/Female Candidates). DD should be in
favour of ‘The Registrar, IIITD&M Kancheepuram’, payable at Chennai.
(b) Copies of all the Mark sheets / grade cards,
degree certificates beginning from first degree towards proof of qualification.
[Original certificates should not be enclosed].
(c) Copy of the Community Certificate in the case
of SC / ST / OBC candidates issued by the respective State Government. The OBC
candidates have to submit an attested copy of the valid non-creamy layer
certificate in the prescribed form issued by competent authority.
(d) Authorised Doctor’s Certificate with disability
descriptions in the case of Person with Disabled (PD) candidates.
(e) Copy of the valid GATE score or NET (UGC-JRF /
Lectureship / CSIR / DAE-JEST) or other fellowship award, as the case may be.

Last date for receiving completed application (downloaded
copy with demand draft) by post at the IIITD&M Office is 01-05-2015.
