PhD ADMISSION – JULY 2015

Admission Procedure for July 2015 (PhD Program in Disease Biology & Biotechnology)

Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB) invites applications for admission to the PhD program (July 2015) in various research domains from candidates with a postgraduate degree in Biotechnology or Botany or Zoology or Life Sciences or Chemical Sciences or Agricultural Sciences or Environmental Sciences or Pharmacy or Veterinary Sciences or a MBBS degree.

All general category candidates should have a minimum of 60% marks (OGPA - 6.0) and SC/ST candidates should have a minimum of 50% marks (OGPA-5.0) for their postgraduate degree. Candidates awaiting final postgraduate examination results are also eligible to apply, but should produce a valid certificate confirming passing the exams with the prescribed mark aggregate at the time of interview. All applicants should have a valid Research Fellowship from UGC/CSIR/ICMR/DBT/KSCSTE/ DST-INSPIRE at the time of seeking admission to the RGCB PhD program. Candidates with any other fellowship other than listed have to contact the Office of Academic Affairs and confirm eligibility. Upper age limit is 28 years as on April 30, 2015. Age limit will be relaxed for SC/ST candidates as per Government of India rules.

RGCB is currently affiliated to the University of Kerala, Manipal University, Mahatma Gandhi University and Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) for the award of Ph.D. degrees. The last date for receipt of completed applications forms is May 14, 2015. Candidates shortlisted for selection interview will be announced on May 18, 2015 (by e-mail and posted on the website). Selection interviews will begin on June 15, 2015 and continue to June 20, 2015. Final list of selected candidates will be announced on June 20, 2015. The PhD program will formally begin on July 13, 2015

Applicants must enclose a crossed demand draft of Rs. 500 (Five hundred only) as processing fee in favour of Director, Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram 695014. Applicants belonging to Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe are exempted from payment.
