Ph.D in Neuro Science Admission Notice 2015
Applications are invited by the University of
Calcutta for admission to the Ph.D Programme at the S. N. Pradhan Centre for
Neurosciences, Taraknath Palit Siksha Prangan, 35, Ballygunge Circular Road,
Kolkata 700 019.
Candidates willing to pursue research work leading
subsequently to the Ph. D. (Sc.) degree in Neuroscience, University of
Calcutta, should apply in plain paper in the format attached herewith
(downloadable from University Website, admission notification) to the head of
the Department, after paying Rs.100/- to the University cash counter through a
challan available from the Calcutta university Sales Counter of the C.U.
College Street Campus.
The eligible candidate will have to appear at a
written MCQ examination to be held at the S. N.Pradhan Centre for
Neurosciences, the details of which are appended below. Successful candidates
will be called for an interview. The final selection for joining the Ph. D
program of the department along with the allocation of supervisor will be made
on the basis of this interview.
Those candidates who have already passed UGC-CSIR
(JRF) NET/SET/SLET/GATE/ Teacher Fellowship or equivalent examination need not
appear for the written test. However, they are to submit a complete application
including the personal statement (1000 word) document.
Attested copies of all testimonials must be
submitted by the candidate along with the application for it to be considered
complete in all respects.

displayed in the Department’s Notice Board : 24.03.2015
3. Date of RET (written part) Examination (MCQ type; 50
questions: duration 12 noon ?1pm) : 27.04.2015
4. Date of declaration of results (in the Notice Board,
Department of S. N. Pradhan Centre for Neurosciences, University of Calcutta)
showing the names of successful candidates in the written part of RET on :
28.04.2015
