MPT, MSc (Nursing) Admissions 2011-2012
Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad has invited applications for admission to following courses of Year 2011:
1. Master of Physiotherapy Course
2. MSc (Nursing) Course
Master of Physiotherapy Course:
Speciality:
MPT - Musculoskeletal Sciences
MPT - Cardiovascular & Pulmonary Sciences
MPT - Neurosciences
Eligibility:
Candidates who have passed BPT examination from recognized College and completed/shall be completing 6 months internship by 30-09-2011 are eligible.
The qualifying marks to be eligible for admission is 50%. In the case of SC, ST candidates the minimum qualifying marks at the entrance test shall be 40%.
Prior qualification required:
1. Candidate holding a Bachelor degree in Physiotherapy from a recognized University in India or a Foreign University with at least 10 + 2 + 4 years of educational pattern and a minimum of 6 months internship.
2. However, since 4 years course and 6 months Internship did not exist before 1998, candidates who have qualified and completed the internship before 31 December 1998 shall be eligible for this course if they have at least 10 + 2 + 3 years of educational pattern and 6 months of internship. Deadline for completion of internship is 30th September, 2011.
Age
The minimum age for admission shall be 22 years completed as on 31.12.2011 and should not be more than 35 years as on 31.12.2011. Upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years in the case of SC and ST candidates. For in-service (NIMS) candidates the age limit is not applicable.
MSc (Nursing) Course:
Speciality:
1. Child Health (Pediatric) Nursing
2. Obstetric and Gynecological Nursing
3. Community Health Nursing
Eligibility:
i. The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered midwife or equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council.
ii. The minimum education requirements shall be the passing of: BSc Nursing / BSc Hons. Nursing / Post Basic BSc Nursing with minimum of 55% aggregate marks.
iii. The candidate should have undergone in BSc Nursing / BSc Hons. Nursing / Post Basic BSc Nursing in an institution which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
iv. Minimum one year of work experience after basic BSc Nursing
v. Minimum one year of work experience prior or after Post Basic BSc Nursing
vi. Candidate shall be medically fit
vii. 5% relaxation of marks for SC / ST candidates
vi. Statutory
Prior qualification required:
Candidate passing of BSc Nursing / BSc Hons. Nursing / Post Basic BSc Nursing with minimum of 55% aggregate marks and should have undergone in an institution which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council AND Minimum one year work experience in Govt. / Private hospital
Age
The candidates who have not completed 45 years as on 31.12.2011 are eligible to apply. The upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years in case of SC & ST candidates.

The filled in application form will have to be printed, signed and sent to Associate Dean, Aptitude Testing, 1st floor, Millennium Block, Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Punjagutta, Hyderabad 500 082 on or before 5.00 PM on 22-09-2011 along with:
a) Self-attested copy of the candidate’s passport size photograph with name clearly written in capital letters on the reverse side of the photograph
b) All the documents required and
c) A demand draft for Rs.1,100/- (Rupees one thousand and one hundred only) drawn in favour of the Director, Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences and dated between 12-09-2011 to 22-09-2011.
The entrance test shall be conducted at 10.00 AM on 24-09-2011 at Board Room, 1st floor, Millenium Block, NIMS, Hyderabad
