Eligibility:
Candidates with Pass in Higher Seconday or equivalent examination in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry can apply for BTech.

For applying to MTech, candidates should have passed a four year Bachelor's degree with 60% marks in any of the following disciplines:
Food Process Engineering
Food Technology,
Post Harvest Technology
Agricultural Engineering and
Agricultural Process Engineering
Those who have passed a four year Bachelor's Degree and two years Master's degree with 60% marks in any of the following disciplines can apply for PhD course:
Food Process Engineering
Agricultural Process Engineering
Food Technology
Post Harvest Technology and
Food and Agricultural Process Engineering

Applications can be obtained from IICPT office from29.07.2011, during all working days between 09.30 am to 05.00 pm by paying Rs.500/- for OC/OBC, Rs. 250 for SC / ST in Cash / DD in favour ‘The Director, IICPT’ payable at Thanjavur.

Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homoepathy, Chennai has invited applications for admission to B.S.M.S./B.A.M.S./B.N.Y.S./B.U.M.S./ B.H.M.S. Courses of Academic Year 2011-12 through single window system.

ADMISSION CRITERIA:

1. ELIGIBILITY:
Candidate should be a citizen of India.

2. NATIVITY:
Candidate should be a Native of Tamil Nadu. Except, for the candidates who have studied in a school in the State of Tamil Nadu continuously without break from 8th Standard to Plus Two, the other candidates should produce the Nativity Certificate in the prescribed format from the competent authority. The candidates who are the children of parent of Tamil Nadu origin but living in other States should also produce the Nativity certificate as mentioned above.

3. AGE LIMIT:
Should have completed the age of seventeen years on or before 31st December 2011. Evidence should be produced.

4. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
(i) Candidates should have passed in all the subjects of the qualifying examination of the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (Academic) conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board / any other equivalent Board in one and the same attempt in the following group of subjects with the minimum eligible marks. A failure in examination reappearance/first appearance, in compartment in one or more subjects will be treated as an attempt.
(a) Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology (or)
(b) Physics, Chemistry, Biology with any other subject

(ii) Language qualifications for BSMS / BUMS Courses
(a) FOR BSMS COURSE : In addition to the minimum eligibility marks
1. The candidate should have studied in Tamil medium up to X Standard or Plus Two, or
2. The candidate should have studied Tamil as a subject up to X Standard, or Plus Two, or
3. The candidate must be prepared to pursue the study of Tamil Language as a subject during the First professional Course of B.S.M.S. course, to become eligible to take the other subjects Examination of the BSMS Course

(b) FOR BUMS COURSE : In addition to the minimum eligibility marks
1. The Candidate should have studied in URDU Medium upto X Standard or Plus Two, or
2. The candidate should have passed Urdu/ Arabic / Persian as a subject up to X Standard or Plus Two, or
3. Should have passed the Adeeb-e-Fazil Examination or Entrance Examination of Afzal-Ul Ulama Examination of the University of Madras to be eligible to apply for the BUMS course on the date of submission of application.

5 (A) MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY MARKS FOR B.S.M.S./B.A.M.S./B.N.Y.S./ B.H.M.S. COURSES.
(i) OTHER COMMUNITIES
a) Minimum of 50% marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology taken together.
b) Minimum of 50% marks aggregate in Physics and Chemistry .
(ii) BACKWARD COMMUNITIES / BC (MUSLIM)
a) Minimum of 45% marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology taken together.
b) Minimum of 45% marks aggregate in Physics and Chemistry.
(iii) MOST BACKWARD CLASSES AND DENOTIFIED COMMUNITIES
a) Minimum of 40% marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology taken together.
b) Minimum of 40% marks aggregate in Physics and Chemistry.
(iv) SCHEDULED CASTE, SCHEDULED CASTE ARUNTHATHIYAR, SCHEDULED TRIBE
a) Minimum of 35% marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology taken together.
b) Minimum of 35% marks aggregate in Physics and Chemistry .
(v) The candidates under Physically Challenged Category-(Locomotory disability of Lower Limbs
alone). OC/BC/BCM/MBC/DC should have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in each prescribed subject in the qualifying examination.
5 (B) MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY MARKS FOR B.U.M.S. COURSE.
Candidates should have passed Higher Secondary Course (Academic) with Science subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Botany and Zoology) or its equivalent examination.

Candidates have to use only one common application form for B.S.M.S./B.A.M.S./B.N.Y.S./B.U.M.S./ B.H.M.S. Courses

Candidates applying under Special Category should apply in the Application Form prescribed for Special Categories which could be obtained on payment of Rs.100/- in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Director of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy, Chennai -106 Payable at Chennai for each Special Category subject to the maximum of three Special Categories. Separate application form should be submitted for each special category.

Candidates applying under Sports category should submit the applications with necessary documents in person at the Office of the Selection Committee, Chennai-600 106.

Completed application form with all relevant enclosures prescribed may be delivered, by Registered post / Courier service / speed post to reach :
The Secretary, Selection Committee, Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy, Arignar Anna Govt. Hospital of Indian Medicine Campus, Arumbakkam, Chennai - 600106 before 5:00 P.M. on 09.08.2011.

COUNSELING & FEES:
The candidate selected for BSMS /BAMS / BNYS / BUMS / BHMS course will have to remit a non-refundable amount of Rs.500/- (Rupees Five hundred only) by means of Demand Draft drawn in favour of Director of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy, Chennai-106, on or after 15.07.2011 payable at Chennai as processing fee for attending counselling.

The candidates who are selected at the time of counseling shall remit a non refundable sum of Rs.5000/- (Rupees Five Thousand only) by way of Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Director of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy, Chennai-106 on or after 15.07.2011 payable at Chennai at the time of receipt of the allotment orders.
Candidates selected for the seats offered voluntarily by the Self Financing Institutions also have to remit a non-refundable sum of Rs.5000/- (Rupees Five Thousand only) by means of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of Director of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy, Chennai-106, on or after 15.07.2011 payable at Chennai at the time of counselling for allotment of seats.

Applications have been invited for Admissions to M.E. / M.Tech. / M.Arch. / M.Plan. Degree Programmes offered in the:

ELIGIBILITY:
Candidates who have passed all the subjects in the recognised qualifying degree with a minimum of 50 % marks for General category and 45 % marks for reserved categories, BC / BCM / MBC & DNC / SC / SCA / ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu, in the qualifying examination:
i. with TANCET 2011 score (or)
ii. with valid GATE score and qualifying marks prescribed for assistantship in the appropriate discipline of Engineering / Technology (or)
iii. with valid GATE score and qualifying marks prescribed for assistantship in Engineering Science (XE) and Life Science (XL) papers along with TANCET 2011
score shall be considered for admission to M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan. degree programmes.

APPLICATION FORM:
Candidates should submit separate application for each category as given below.
1. GATE Category
a. GATE A (Engineering / Technology) category: Candidates who have a valid GATE score with qualifying marks for assistantship in the appropriate discipline of Engineering /Technology.
b. GATE B (Engineering Science (XE) / Life Science (XL) category: Candidates who have a valid GATE score with qualifying marks for assistantship in Engineering Science (XE) and Life Science (XL) papers. Candidates should have also appeared for TANCET 2011.
2. Non-GATE category: (TANCET 2011 score only)
3. Sponsored category: (with TANCET 2011 score) only for University Departments of Anna University, Chennai-25.

REGISTRATION THROUGH INTERNET: The application form, information and instructions to candidates are available in the website www.annauniv.edu/tanca2011 .
The print out application and registration fee for Rs. 500/- for General (Rs.250/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu by enclosing a copy of Permanent Community Card) in the form of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of “The Secretary, Tamil Nadu Common Admissions, Anna University, Chennai” payable at Chennai drawn on or after 10.7.2011, should be sent along with all the enclosures, through registered post / speed post.

The completed application should reach ‘The Secretary, TANCA, Anna University, Chennai 600 025’ on or before 30.07.2011, by 5.30 p.m.
