Admission Into First Semester Class of Five Year Integrated M.Com. Course for the Session 2012-13.
Applications in prescnbed form are invited from eligible candidates lor admission into the 1st Semester Integrated M.Com Course for the Session 2012-13. The Prospectus along with the application form can be obtained from the University Publication Department(GUPD) /Department of Commerce. GU from 10th May 2012 on payment Rs. 400.00 (including entrance test fee of Rs. 150/-) In the University Cash Counter or through an SBI bank draft in favour of Registrar Gauhati University payable at SBI, G.U. Branch. The admission form and prospectus may also be downloaded from the Gauhati University website, www.gauhati.ac.in and in such a case, Demand Draft of Rs. 400/- only in favour of 'Registrar, Gauhati University' payable at S.B.I. Gauhati University Branch has to be deposited along with the Admission Form.
SALIENT FEATURES OF THE COURSE
The course has inbuilt process of continuous evaluation of students' performance under credit and grading system. Student will be kept informed of their strong and weak points. The class division into theory, tutorial and practical is rationally devised to develop students' creativity. Real teaching hour will be more than the traditional courses due to adherence to semester-academic-calendar. The course Is designed taking a holistic approach to study basic commerce and business related subjects. The students will have the opportunities to learn Microsoft Excel. Computerized Accounting, E-Commerce and Business English and Soft Skills with practical training within the course. There is a provision of imparting practical training to the students during summer semester (June-July) in collaboration with business/industrial units, CA Firms. Tax consultants etc. This is done with a view to give an exposure of real business environment particularly in the area of business environment, office management, accounting. Tax related matters etc. A student shall have Ihe discretion to opt out of the course after successfully completing B.Com. (Hons.) degree, at the end of sixth semester.
Eligibility: Pass in Higher Secondary (10+2) with a minimum 50% of marks in aggregate in Arts/ Science/Commerce in the years 2011and20l2. Those who have appeared in the Higher Secondary (10+2) final examination are also eligible to apply.
