ADMISSION TO THE SHORT-TERM COURSE IN
GEOINFORMATION SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
Applications
are invited to the Short-term Course in Geoinformation Science
and Technology conducted by Dr. R. Satheesh Centre for Remote Sensing and GIS
established in 2003 in the School of Environmental Sciences of Mahatma Gandhi
University with the support from ISRO, Dept. of Space, Govt. of India under the
prestigious National Natural Resources Management System (NNRMS) (http://nnrms.gov.in) programme of the nation.
The candidates are trained to equip for various science and technology jobs in
the area of Geoinformatics (satellite remote sensing, aerial photography,
digital image processing, photogrammetry, mapping & surveying, GPS and
computer based GIS) applications especially in Natural Resources Management,
Utilities Management and Environmental Planning and Management. Graduates or
Postgraduate degree holders in Geology, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Biology,
Environmental Science, Disaster Management, Oceanography, Atmospheric Science,
Forestry, Agriculture, Community Medicine, Management, Civil / Agricultural /
Electronics / Computer Science or Engineering, Architecture and Town Planning
can apply for this job-oriented full-time course with duration of 16 weeks. 2
batches are conducted in a year.

of Rs.100/- drawn in favour of The Director, School of Environmental Sciences, Mahatma
Gandhi University payable at State Bank of Travancore, M. G. University Campus
Branch and a self-addressed envelope affixed with stamp of Rs.5/- by post or
directly by paying cash at the Office of the School.
