SAHA INSTITUTE OF NUCLEAR PHYSICS
Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP) invites
applications for admissions to PhD/ Post MSc JRF (PMSc) Programme in Physics
and Biophysical Sciences for 2014-15 Session.
Eligibility:
For Physics, Masters’ degree in Physics. For Biophysical Sciences, Masters’
degree in Physics/ Chemistry (With Life Sciences at 10+2 level) or Masters’
degree in Life sciences (With Chemistry and Mathematics at 10+2 level).
Students appearing in the final exam for their
Masters’ degree may also apply.
Admissions:
Selections will be based on student’s academic records, performances in the
written test and interviews. All students irrespective of their
JEST/CSIR/UGC/DBT qualification must use the same form to apply.
The written
test will be held on February 23 (Sunday), 2014.
The Post-MSc
JRF Exam
SINP conducts a Nationwide written test every year
in February. The online application form is available after mid-November. A
first selection is made based on the previous academic records. The selected
students can take the written test. On the basis of performances in the written
test and the previous academic records, a short-list of candidates is prepared
who are called for the interviews. The final selection is made based on the
performances in the written test, the interview and the previous academic
records.
The students are admitted in Post-MSc as Junior
Research Fellows (JRF) of the Institute. They receive stipends of Rs 16,000/-
per month. Personal medical benefits are available as per rule. In addition,
House Rent Allowances (HRA) at the rate of 30% of the fellowship are given in
case hostel accommodation are not provided. An annual contingency grant of Rs.
20000/- is also given to each student.

clicking the link below. In the field "students qualified in" you may
not choose anything. But you must choose one of the 5 centers (Chennai, Delhi,
Guwahati, Kolkata and Mumbai) in the field "choice of exam center",
otherwise your application will not be considered for the written test. All
lists are published in the following link. The interviews take place in SINP in
