Management Admission Notice 2014
Department
of Jute and Fibre Technology, Institute of Jute Technology, Calcutta
University, has invited applications for admission to the Post B.Sc. Four
Semester PG Diploma in Jute Technology and Management course for sustainable
HRD for Jute Sector to be conducted in this department for Sponsored and
General (Non-sponsored) Candidates (with required reservations for SC/ST/OBC/PH
candidates).
Eligibility
for Admission:
Pass in
three years B. Sc. Examination or equivalent with Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics
/Statistics / Computer, etc. as part of the subject combination recognized by
the University of Calcutta / UGC. B.Sc appeared candidates may also apply and
their and their admission will be valid subject to passing the B.Sc with
qualifying marks.
Admission
Procedure :
A Common
Admission Test for PGDJTM for all categories of candidates will be conducted by
this Department. The admission test will comprise one paper of 100 marks with
four subgroups, viz. (i) General knowledge and English, 25 marks (ii) General
Mathematical / Statistical aptitude, 25 marks (iii) Physics / Computer
Application, 25 marks and (iv) Chemistry, 25 marks.
For this
session 2014-15, the admission test will be held on Sunday, 13th July 2014, at
12 AM at the premises of Department of Jute and Fibre Technology , Institute of
Jute Technology , Calcutta University (35, Ballygunge Circular Road,
Kolkata-700019) followed by interview on the same day. All candidates applied
for the said course are to appear for the Admission Test. No separate ‘Admit
Card’ will be issued, the ‘Application Fee’ receipt is the identity card for
each candidate.
Application
Fee and Course Fee:
For both
sponsored and non-sponsored candidates: Application fee during submission of
the application is Rs.500/- only. (Rs. 250/- for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates,
subject to producing valid supporting document). The course fee for the 1st
semester is Rs. 5,000/- (including lab fee, library fee etc for each semester)
plus miscellaneous other fees as applicable for all categories of candidates
(Secession fee – Rs 100/- in 1st semester only, Students activities fee – Rs.
400 in 1st semester only; Identity card fee – Rs. 30 in 1st semester only).
Total payable in 1st Semester is Rs.5530/-, for all subsequent semester the fee
is Rs.5000/- per semester. Examination fee of the course is as applicable and
to be paid separately as decided by the University of Calcutta from time to
time.
Sponsorship:
Jute
Mill/Jute Organization or any other reputed organization / Educational Body /
Govt. Dept. may sponsor candidates for the Post B.Sc. Four Semester PG Diploma
in Jute Technology and Management course. For the sponsored candidates,
original letter of sponsorship from the Unit Head of the Sponsoring
Organization/Unit/Mill (Director/ President/General Manager/Mill Manager/ Chief
Executive/Executive Director with full name and office seal) mentioning the
total experience, if any, is to be produced to this office during submission of
application form. However all sponsored candidates have to qualify the Common
Admission Test for admission to this course.

Last date of submission of application : 11th July 2014,
with fee Rs 500/- in cash (For SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates: application fee –
Rs.250/-); Admission Test: Sunday , 13th July 2014,
at 12 AM at DJFT – IJT – CU campus at 35, Ballygunge Circular Road, Kolkata-700
019. Admission date: 16th – 19th July, 2014. Commencement of the Class for this semester: 21st July 2014.
