Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Examination 2014


The Union Public Service Commission will conduct the Combined Geo-Scientist And Geologist Examination from May 24, 2014.

The examination centres are Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Patna, Shillong, Shimla, Thiruvananthapuram, Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cuttack, Delhi, Dispur, and Hyderabad.

The exams are conducted for:
Category I: (Posts in the Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines).
(i) Geologist, Group A: 100
(ii) Geophysicist, Group A: 80
(iii) Chemist, Group A: 80
Category II: (Posts in the Central Ground Water Board,  Ministry of Water Resources)
(i) Junior Hydrogeologists (Scientist B)
Group A: 05

As many as 10 vacancies of Geologists are reserved for Physically Challenged candidates belonging to the Hearing Impairment (Partially Deaf)/ Orthopaedically Handicapped (One Arm (OA) & One Leg (OL)). 4 vacancies each of Geophysicist and Chemist are reserved for Physically Challenged candidates belonging to the Hearing Impairment (Partially Deaf). No vacancies reserved for Physically Challenged candidates have been reported by Central Ground Water Board for the post of Junior Hydrogeologists.

(Group A) in Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources

Candidates are required to apply online only by using the website www.upsconline.nic.in.  The online applications can be filled upto March 31, 2014 till 11.59 pm, after which the link will be disabled.

The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admission Certificate two weeks before the commencement of the examination. The e-Admission Certificate will be made available in the UPSC website for downloading by candidates. No Admission Certificate will be sent by post.
