Joint CSIR-UGC Test June 2014


The Joint CSIR-UGC Test will be held by The Council Of Scientific And Industrial Research (CSIR) on June 22, 2014.

The test is conducted for determining the eligibility for the award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) NET and also the eligibility for appointment of Lecturers (NET) in certain subject areas falling under the faculty of Science & Technology.

Interested & eligible candidates may apply online by visiting CSIR, HRDG website www.csirhrdg.res.in  from February 10, 2014 to March 4, 2014.

The copy of online application form, duly completed with requisite enclosure should be sent by Ordinary post to the Sr. Controller of Examination, Examination Unit, Human Resource Development Group, CSIR Complex, Avenue, Pusa, New Delhi 110012 so as to reach Examination Unit CSIR on or before March 8, 2014.

A candidate may apply either for ‘JRF’ OR for ‘Lectureship (LS) only’. He/she may indicate his/her preference in the Online Application, as the case may be. CSIR may consider candidates for ‘JRF’, or ‘Lectureship only” depending on number of fellowships available & performance in the test subject to the condition that they fulfill the laid down eligibility criterion.

The maximum age for a candidate to apply for JRF NET is 28 years as on January 1, 2014. For SC/ST, OBC, disabled, blind and women, age relaxation for five years will be given. If a candidate is found to be over-age for JRF (NET) he/she will automatically be considered for Lectureship (NET) only, except for Engineering Sciences. Engineering Sciences candidates will only be eligible for CSIR JRF ship and are advised to opt for JRF only in the application form.

The examination fee for general candidates will be Rs 400. It will be Rs 200 for OBC and 100 for SC/ST and persons with disabilities. Fees can be paid at any branch of Indian Bank.

Exam schedule:
June 22, 2014
Morning session: 9 am to 12 pm
Afternoon session: 2 pm to 5 pm


Examination centres include Thiruvanathapuram, Kochi, Karaikudi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Lucknow, Nagpur, Pune, Varanasi, Bangalore, Roorkee and Kolkata.
