School of Business Management, SVKM’s Narsee Monjee
Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Mumbai has invited applications for
admission to Ph.D. programmes of June 2014 session in the following
specialisations:
Specialisation in Marketing, Human Resources and
Behavioural Science, Operations, Finance, Strategy, Information Systems,
General Management and Social Entrepreneurship
Eligibility
(For Full Time and Part Time PhD)
• Full Time MBA or Full Time PGDM or Part Time MBA
(duration of the Program in case of FT MBA and PGDM should not be less than 2
years) from recognized university or notified by AIU as equivalent to MBA of an
University or Master’s Degree in any relevant discipline like Commerce/
Economics / Statistics/ Psychology/ Sociology/ IT/
Engineering etc, or professional qualifications like CA/ CS/ CWA, etc
• Candidates who have successfully completed 1 year
MBA or PGDM Program requiring experience of more than 5 years prior to MBA/
PGDM; are eligible for applying for Ph D Program provided the MBA/ PGDM program
is approved by AICTE or by UGC.
• Candidates appearing or awaiting for final year
result are not eligible to apply.
• Work Experience will be calculated till 31st
March 2014.
a) Full Time
Ph D
• Minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade (as
mentioned by University in Final Marksheet) at Masters level
OR
• Minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade (as
mentioned by University in Final Marksheet) at Masters level and Graduation
degree with minimum 60% as mentioned by University in Final Marksheet) at
Bachelor level.
• Full Time Doctoral scholars will require 2 years
of full time work experience atleast after graduation (2 years work experience
should be after obtaining graduation degree)
b) Part Time
Ph D
• Part Time Ph D will require at least 5 years Full
Time Work Experience in executive or supervisory capacity (out of which at
least 2 years work experience should be after obtaining Masters Degree)
• The experience should be full time experience and
will NOT include part time experience, internships, projects, training period,
trainee (management, engineering)etc.
Candidates must have completed Post Graduation/
Masters in stipulated duration as per University/ Institution awarding degree.
Academic
Requirements :
• The Ph.D Program at NMIMS will be offered in
three parts: (i) Course Work ii) Research Component (iii) Thesis.
• Selected candidates will have to undergo
prescribed courses. Exam will be conducted at the end of course work and
candidate has to obtain 60% in each of the courses to register for Ph.D.
• Course Work will include tools & substantive
knowledge.

• Before filling the online form, please read all
the instructions carefully mentioned in the instruction sheet and also refer
the important dates.
• Online Registration Fee is Rs. 2000/-
(non-refundable) to be paid by Demand Draft in favor of SVKM’s NMIMS Payable at
Mumbai.
After online
registration and payment of registration fee please forward below mentioned
documents to the following address
• Copy of duly filled up online application form
• Attested copies of Graduation Marksheet and
Degree Certificate (Convocation certificate)
• Attested copies of Post-Graduation Marksheet and
Degree Certificate (Convocation certificate)
• Work Experience certificate (5 years’ experience)
(as applicable) (If the work experience certificate is in more than one company
a separate work experience certificate signed by the employer stating clearly
the nature of work experience is to be submitted. The work experience
certificate must contain the date of joining, designation, date of relieving
(if applicable) and the level at which the
designation is covered in the organization. If the
current designation or the designation at the time of leaving the organization
(as applicable) is/ was different than the designation at the time of joining
than in such case candidate must provide the copy of the appointment letter.
• Statement of Purpose (Format available on website
www.nmims.edu). SOP should describe area of research.
• UGC/ CSIR/ ICMR or other equivalent examinations
certificate (if appeared)

Last date of Online Registration: Thursday 27th March 2014
Call letters for Written Test: Saturday 5th April 2014
Conduct of Written Test: Friday 11th April 2014
Result of Written Test: Thursday 17th April 2014
Conduct of Personal Interview & Presentation: 29th April to
3rd May 2014
Final results: Tuesday 13th May 2014
Payment of fees (I Merit List): 14th May to 24th May 2014
Declaration of II merit list: Monday 26th May 2014
