Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission into M Phil (Master of Philosophy) and PhD (Doctorate in Philosophy) programmes in several disciplines, to be offered by different Faculties and Interdisciplinary Biotechnology Unit, for the year 2012. Candidates will be selected on the basis of marks secured in the admission test, followed by an Interview, to be conducted by the University.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria for Admission to MPhil/PhD Course:
(i) A candidate will be eligible for admission to MPhil / PhD program, if he / she has obtained the Master's Degree or its equivalent recognized by the University in a subject relevant to his proposed field of research with not less than 55% marks in the aggregate or its equivalent CPl / CGPA / NAG, and had also obtained the Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent recognized by the University with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate or its equivalent CPI / CGPA / NAG, subject to any further requirements for eligibility that may be laid down by the University from time to time

(ii) A candidate, working in an externally funded research project in the University, who is otherwise eligible, may be permitted for admission to MPhil / PhD program while continuing to work in the project subject to certification by the Principal Investigator of the project that the subject of the project and the proposed MPhil / PhD topic of the candidate overlaps.

Indian Applicants:
A candidate eligible for admission to MPhil / PhD program in more than one Department / Centre / Unit in the same or a different Faculty of the University can apply for admission in not more than two disciplines.

Delhi University has invited applications for admission to the Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Doctoral (Ph.D) Programmes in Education, offered both in a full-time and a part-time mode.

M.Phil:-
Eligibility Conditions for Full-time Candidates:
i) The minimum qualifications for admission to the MPhil (Full-time) Programme shall be a Master's Degree of an Indian University or an equivalent degree of a foreign university, in Education, or an allied subject with a high Second Class i.e., minimum of 55% marks in the aggregate or an equivalent grade.

Eligibility Conditions for Part-time Candidates:
i) The minimum qualifications for admission to the MPhil (Part-time) Programme shall be a Master's Degree of an Indian University, or an equivalent degree of a foreign university, in Education or an allied subject, with a high Second Class i.e., minimum of 55% marks in the aggregate or an equivalent grade. ii) Preference will be given to candidates having experience of working as educational practitioners.

Ph.D:-
Conditions of Eligibility and Process of Selection:
To be eligible for admission to the PhD programme, a candidate must have obtained a Master’s or an MPhil degree of the University of Delhi, or any other recognized University, or any degree recognized as equivalent in the subject in which the candidate wishes to pursue a course of research, or in an allied subject. She/he must have obtained either a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grading in the MPhil degree or a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grading in the Master’s degree. Students having fellowships and/or scholarships instituted by the University, national and international agencies under schemes approved/and recognized by the University of Delhi, through procedures laid down by the University, may be registered provisionally by the Departmental Research Committee (DRC) and Board of Research Studies.
