University of Hyderabad, PO Central University, Hyderabad-500046 has invited applications for admission to the various Post Gradate and Research Programmes in major disciplines in Science, Humanities, Social Sciences, Performing Arts, Fine Arts, Communication and Management Studies.

Admissions are made on an All-India Basis based on merit in a an entrance Examination  to be held at Ahmedabad, Aizawl,  Bangalore,  Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Dharwad, Guwahati, Goa, Jammu, Kohima ,Kolkatta, Lucknow, Madurai, Nagpur, Patna,  Pune,  Raipur,  Ranchi,  Srinagar,  Tirupati, Vijayawada,  Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad between 1st and 7th June, 2009.

5-year Integrated Courses (after Plus Two education) of 10 Semesters:
M.Sc in Sciences(Mathematical Sciences/Physics/Chemical Sciences/Systems Biology/Optometry & Vision Science (Admissions to these courses will be through IIT-JEE 2009/streams of KVPY 2009/ first rankers of CBSE, ICSE/State Boards of +2 education), Nursing Sciences and Health Psychology (Admission to these two courses will be based on University Entrance Test).

M.A in Hindi/Telugu/Urdu/Language Science/Social Sciences
Postgraduate Courses (2 year course after 10+2+3)

M.Sc. courses (4 semesters) in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics-OR, Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Plant Biology & Biotechnology, Molecular Microbiology, Animal Biotechnology, Biotechnology (The admissions for M.Sc. Biotechnology course will be based on the allotment made by the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi which will conduct a common entrance test on 18.5.2009).

M.A. courses (4 semesters) in English, Philosophy, Hindi, Functional Hindi(Translation), Telugu, Urdu, Applied Linguistics, Economics, History, Political Science, Sociology, Anthropology, Communication (Radio & Video Production, Print and New Media, Communication Studies, and Advertising & Public Relations.).

MPA Dance (4 semesters) (Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam and Folk)

MPA Theatre Arts (6 semesters)

MFA (4 semesters) (Painting, Print Making and Sculpture)
Adv. P.G. Diploma Courses (2 semesters) Mineral Exploration (This course is offered in collaboration and cooperation with National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI), Atomic Minerals Directorate (AMD), National Remote Sensing Agency (NRSA), and National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC); Folk Culture studies.

P.G. Diploma Courses (2 semesters) in Counseling Psychology; Health Fitness and Life Style Management.

M.Tech Courses (4 semesters) in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology - (The course is offered in collaboration with IDRBT, an Institute established by the Reserve Bank of India).

Computational Techniques - (a post M.Sc (Physics) course offered by the School of Physics and the Department of Computer and Information Sciences).

I.C. Technology; Medical Biotechnology; Bioinformatics - (The course is offered in collaboration with the Centre for DNA Fingerprinting Diagnostics [CDFD], Hyderabad)

Mineral Exploration - (The course is offered in collaboration and cooperation with National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI), Atomic Minerals Directorate (AMD), National Remote Sensing Agency (NRSA), and National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC).

Separate Application is to be submitted for each course. Cost of Prospectus-cum- Application form is Rs.400/- for General & OBC Category and Rs.150/- for SC/ST /PH category. This can be obtained in person up to 30.4.2009 from the Academic Section Office of the Controller of Examinations, Administration Building in the University Campus, Hyderabad-500046 or from 'Golden Threshold' (GT) premises of the University, Nampally Station Road, Hyderabad-560001 against cash payment.

It can be obtained by ordinary post up to 23.4.2009 from the Deputy Registrar (Acad & Exams) University of Hyderabad, Central University (PO), Hyderabad-560046, by sending a requisition along with a a self-addressed adhesive sticker/slip and a Crossed Demand Draft of Rs.450/- for General and OBC and Rs.200/- for SC/ST/PH categories, drawn in favour of 'Finance Officer, University of Hyderabad on State Bank of India, Hyderabd Central University Campus Branch,  Hyderabd (Code 596) or on Andhra Bank, Nampally Branch, Hyderabad (Code 378).

Application can be downloaded from http://www.uohyd.ernet.in and sent with a DD of Rs. 200/- in the case of General/OBC Candidates and Rs. 75/- in the case of SC/ST/PH candidates in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, University of Hyderabad, payable at State Bank of India, Hyderabad Central University Campus Branch, Hyderabad (Code 5916) or on Andhra Bank, Nampally Branch, Hyderabad (Code 378).  The last date for receipt of filled in Applications in the University is 30th April, 2009.
