PGDCM Program
This is a full-time two year residential Programme similar to PGDM with an additional emphasis on use of Information Technology (IT) in management.

  • OBJECTIVE:
    The objective of the PGDCM programme is to create business professionals who would know how to apply ICT (information and computer technology) in making a differnece in business and economy. The programme is an outcome of teh flt need for waving a general management programme around ICT to develop a business curriculus that would train managers for an increasingly global and information-rich future. The programme covers the following spheres of learning :
    (a) understanding different domains of organizations and related functional areas of management; (b) understanding the role of ICT in Management; (c) understand of ICT-enabled enterprise systems; and (d) understanding tools and methologies of business analytics with the aim of using data creatively for better decision making.

    CURRICULUM FOR PGDCM
    In the revised course structure effective from academic year 2008-2009 all compulsory courses get over in the first year. The list of compulsory courses is developed around the following five Building Blocks: (1) understanding the basics of disciplines and functions of business mangement; (2) understanding human and organization behaviour (3) understanding the enviournment and society; (4) knowing ICT tools well; and (5) knowing application areas. In addition, they also complete a year-long industry/ research project on an ICT- related topic. An ICT - realted course or topic is one that either dwells on ICT or discusses usage of ICT in one or more functional areas.

    SELECTION CRITERIA FOR PGDCM PROGRAMME
    PGDCM applicants, like Postgraduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) applicants, should appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT). Applicants are advised to refer to the CAT adverstisement released in leading newspapers on August 30, 2009. CAT eleigibility for PGDCM is the same as for PGDM. The interview shortlist will be prepared based on multiple criteria such as CAT score, academic performance and relevant work experience. The shorlisted candidates will appear for separate PGDCM Group Disscussion/ Personal Interiview (GD/PI) which will also evaluate canddiates' competence and interst in ICT.

    HOW TO APPLY FOR PGDCM PROGRAMME
    At the time of registration for CAT 2009, SELECT - PGP-PGDCM along with other options. There will be no separate application form, payment, or test for admission to this programme.
