XLRI Admission Test (XAT) 2010

The XLRI Admission Test (XAT) for admission to the Management Programmes of XLRI as well as other institutions admitting students to their Management Programmes using XAT score, will be held from 10 am to 12.30 pm on 3rd January 2010 at Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Berhampur, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Coimbatore, Cuttack, Dehradun, Delhi, Goa, Gurgaon, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Noida, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Rourkela, Sambalpur, Trivandrum, Vadodara and Visakhapatnam.

Other than XLRI, there are more than 60 Management Institutes which are selecting students from XAT 2010 for their Management Programmes. The full list of Institutes is available at http://www.xlri.edu/xat_assoc_institutes.php  Those interested in admission to XLRI or other XAT member Institutes, in addition to taking XAT 2010 have to obtain the Prospectus of the concerned Institute and apply for admission to the institute as directed by the institute.The Admission test will have a session with multiple choice type questions of 2 hours duration followed by an essay test of 20 minutes duration.

Those with a Bachelor's Degree under 10+2+3 system, recognized by a University or a Deemed University are eligible for appearing for XAT. Those completing final year examination by June 10, 2010 are also eligible for admission to XLRI. Other XAT Members Institutes may have different dates regarding the completion of the final examination which may be ascertained from the concerned institutes.

Registering for XAT 2010:

A candidate has to first register for XAT at http://www.xlri.edu/ and then only he/she can obtain XAT Bulletin. After completing the registration, the applicant has to download the XAT Pay in slip. XAT Bulletin can then be obtained from selected branches of AXIS Bank (see http://www.xlri.edu/bankname.php  for the full list) on payment of Rs.800/- along with the Pay in slip. The detachable form inside the Bulletin is to be filled up and sent to XAT office along with the XLRI's copy of the XAT pay-in-slip, signed and sealed by Axis Bank at the time of purchase of the Bulletin.

XAT Registration can alternatively be done after obtaining a Demand Draft for Rs.850/- taken in favour of 'XLRI Jamshedpur A/c XAT', payable at Jamshedpur. Subsequently, the applicant has to register for XAT at http://www.xlri.edu/  and send the XAT PP form that is to be downloaded after registering, along with the DD to XAT Office, XLRI, Circuit House Area (East), Jamshedpur-831001. The XAT office will dispatch the Bulletin to the applicant on receipt of the Form and Demand Draft.

Applicants can download their Admit Card from www.xlri.edu  any time between December 18, 2009 and December 31, 2009. XAT office will not be sending Admit Cards to any candidate. Candidates are expected to reach the Test Centre before 9 am on the day of the test.

Registering for admissions to XLRI: The following Courses are offered by XLRI Jamshedpur

A. Two Year Post Graduate Programmes in
(i) Business Management
(ii) Personnel Management & Industrial Relations:
 
Applicant should have completed three year Bachelor Degree or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized University or Deemed University. Those completing their final examination by June 10, 2010 may also apply.

B. One year General Management Programme: Applicant should hold a Bachelor Degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline from a recognized University or Deemed University in India/abroad. He/she should be employed in a full time job and must have at least five years of relevant managerial experience as on March 31, 2010 after completion of graduation.

C. Four year Fellow Programme in Management: Applicant must have a Master's Degree or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized University or Deemed University in India or abroad with three years of work experience OR CA/ICWA/CS with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST applicants) and three years of work experience OR BE/B.Tech Degree or its equivalent with at least 60% marks (50% for SC/ST) and four years of work experience. 
A candidate interested in admissions to XLRI, after registering for XAT, has to register for XLRI'S Programmes at http://xlri.edu/

After successfully registering for XLRI, the applicant has to download the XLRI Pay in slip. XLRI Prospectus 2010 can then be obtained from selected branches of AXIS Bank (see http://www.xlri.edu/bankname.php for the full list) on payment of the amount towards the Cost of Prospectus which for General candidates is Rs.900/- if applying for One Programme and Rs.1500/- if applying for more than one but maximum of three Programmes (Respectively Rs.600/- and Rs.1100/- for SC/ST), along with the Pay in slip. The detachable form given in the Prospectus is to be filled up and sent to the Admissions office with the XLRI's copy of the XLRI pay-in-slip, signed and sealed by Axis Bank at the time of purchase of the Prospectus.

XLRI Registration can alternatively be done after obtaining a Demand Draft for Rs.950/- if applying for One Programme and Rs.1550/- if applying for more than one but maximum of three Programmes in case of General category applicants  and respectively Rs.650/- and Rs.1150/- for SC/ST category, drawn in favour of 'XLRI Jamshedpur A/c Prospectus', payable at Jamshedpur. Subsequently, the applicant has to register for XLRI admissions at http://www.xlri.edu/ and send the XLRI PA form that is to be downloaded after registering for XLRI, along with the DD, to 'Admissions Office, XLRI, Circuit House Area (East), Jamshedpur-831001'. The Admissions office will dispatch the Prospectus to the applicant on receipt of the Form and Demand Draft.

The last date for Registration for XAT and XLRI is 30th November 2009.  XAT Bulletin and XLRI Prospectus will be available from Axis Bank/XAT Office/Admission Office, after online registration, up to November 30, 2009.

The last date for receiving XAT 2010 PP/XLRI PA Form/XAT & XLRI detachable form at XAT Office, XLRI is 5th December 2009.
