ABOUT CBIP :
Central Board of Irrigation and Power was set up by the Government of India in 1927 for looking after the development of Irrigation and Power Sectors. CBIP has been rendering dedicated services to the professional organizations, engineers and individuals in the country particularly Human Resource Development.

ABOUT THE COURSE :
This is a modular type course of 52 weeks duration (2 semesters) covering the complete syllabus given under Indian Electricity Rules.

WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN?
The main aim of the course is to develop a pool of technically trained manpower readily available for inducting them in Operation & Maintenance of Thermal Power Stations of Indian Power Sector. The course is also open for the sponsored candidates from SEBs/ Power utilities (Public & Private).

ELIGIBILITY: B.E. or equivalent in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics & Telecommunication / Control & Instrumentation / Power Engineering disciplines from a recognized Institution /University with minimum of 60% marks throughout in Xth / Xllth / Engg. For sponsored candidates the criteria will be 60% marks in Engg. Degree with one year exp.

SELECTION CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION
Based on the merit marks of 10th, 12th & Engineering degree.

AGE LIMIT:
For Non-sponsored candidates, the age limit is 27 years as on 26.09.2011. No age limit forthe sponsored candidates.
For Non-sponsored & Sponsored candidates:- 71,30,000.00 & ?1,50,000.00 respectively, excluding the Lodging & Boarding charges.

TOTAL SEATS: 60(Sixtv seats) (Provisional). 25% seats are reserved for candidates sponsored from Power utilities.

PLACEMENT: CBIP maintains close linkages with all Power Utilities and reputed companies of Indian Power Sector which will help for the placement of the students.
