HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER CAMP 2012
Objective:
It is curiosity that impels us to explore the unknown. We all know the curiosity that we used to have as a child. We wished someone could explain us why the sky is blue or how does a bird fly. This curiosity to explore the truth diminishes with age if it is not nurtured or encouraged. We at IITJ want to nurture this curiosity by answering their queries and exposing them to the state-of-the-art technologies. We believe that, by doing so, we will be able to attract bright and
talented minds towards research.
Proposal:
Under this program, the Institute invites applications from senior secondary students (Class XI or XII) from schools in Jodhpur. The students having marksheet of class X are eligible to apply. Approximately 20 students will be selected through a screening process which would essentially take into account their X class academic records. The selected students will spend one month at IIT Rajasthan participating in lectures, workshops, lab sessions, group works and field visits. At the end of the program, they will do a poster presentation which manifests the learning they have received. A certificate of completion will be awarded to all participating candidates.
Duration:
The selected candidates will spend about 4 weeks during summer vacation, i.e. from 2 to 30 June 2012. There will be two sessions per day, viz. from 10 am to 12 noon and 2 pm to 5 pm.
Food & Other Facilities:
Institute will provide free lunch and refreshments to all participants. Since participants are from within Jodhpur, no accommodation shall be provided. However, accommodation may be given to a few outstation students if found necessary. Decisions in this regard will be taken on a case-to-case basis.

Announcement of selected candidates: May 1
Arrival of selected candidates: 2 June
Commencement of the summer camp: 3 June
