APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED FOR ADMISSION TO THE FOLLOWING FIVE YEAR INTEGRATED COURSES OFFERED BY THE UNIVERSITY FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2012-2013.
1. Master of Tourism and Hotel Management (MTHM)
2. Masters in Films and Electronic Media Studies (MFES)
PAYMENT DETAILS
1. Take a print out of the challan copy (3 part pay in slip) and go to any of the nearest SBI BANK and make the payment and obtain the seal in all part of the challan.
2. FEE DETAILS:
3. For SC/ST candidates who have opted for ONLY ONE Course, the challan will mention Rs.0 as amount. You need not make any payment.
4. For SC/ST candidates who have opted for both the courses should pay Rs.1000/-
5. SC/ST Candidates should not apply separately for both the courses. If they want to opt for both the courses, they should fill only one registration form. If done so, it will be treated as ineligible and you will not be allowed to take the entrance test
6. SBI BANK will keep one copy of the sealed challan and hand over the other two parts to the candidate. Candidates should send the University copy of the challan along with a PRINTED COPY OF THE REGISTRATION FORM duly signed to the below address.

7. Candidates should keep the student copy of the challan for future references.
ELIGIBILITY
A pass in Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) / Intermediate Examination or its Equivalent.
AGE LIMIT
The upper age limit for admission will be 21 years as on 1st July 2012.
However,
i) a relaxation of 5 years is permitted for Physically Handicapped and
ii) a relaxation of 3 years is permitted for SC/ST/BC/MBC/DNC candidates and women candidates
beyond 21 years for the admission.
PROCEDURE FOR SUBMITTING FILLED-IN APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION
1) Applicants are requested to read carefully the rules of eligibility and other instructions given in the prospectus.
2) Registration Fee
Each course Rs.1,000/-
The candidates have to submit xerox copies of the following certificates duly attested by a Gazetted Officer along with the application form.
Original certificates should not be sent.
i) SSLC, HSE mark statement
ii) Community Certificate obtained from Tahsildar/ Deputy Tahsildar concerned. Otherwise it will not be taken into account.
iii) Income Certificate obtained 3 months prior to the date of advertisement (for SC/ST/Blind candidates only) from the competent issuing authority.
iv) Certificate of Physically Handicapped / Leprosy cured: Candidates who want them to be considered under the Physically Handicapped category should submit the certificate obtained from an authorized Medical Officer of the specialty concerned not below the rank of Civil Surgeon together with photograph showing the nature of handicap.
v) Military Certificate: Certificates to be produced
vi) Sports Certificate: Candidates who want them to be considered under the Sports category should produce the relevant certificate for having represented the State / Nation / athletics.
vii) Two self addressed, stamped envelopes, each for Rs.10/- should be enclosed
viii) +2 marks statement (compulsory)
ix) Registration Fee remittance challan (University Copy) towards registration fee as prescribed by the University should be enclosed.
SC/ST candidates are exempted from the payment of Registration Fee for only one course. Note: Cheques, Postal Orders, Money Orders and cash will not be accepted. Registration fees, once paid, will not be refunded, adjusted or transferred under any circumstances.
x) Filling with any wrong information or suppression of information may result in punitive action.
xi) Certificates other than those required need not be enclosed.
xii) The application form without the Xerox copies of relevant certificates will not be considered.
xiii) All the columns in the application should be filled-in. Incomplete application will be rejected.

4) Photograph
Two recent passport size photographs of the applicant should be affixed; one on the column provided in the application form and the other in the Hall-Ticket.
SELECTION PROCEDURE
A. The selection of candidate is based on the marks in the Entrance Test conducted by Madurai Kamaraj University
B. This University reserves the right to change the Selection Procedure.
Reservation Policy
Tamilnadu Government Reservation Policy will be strictly followed for admission to
these courses.
Publication of selection
Selected candidates will be intimated individually by post. The list of Register Numbers
of selected candidates will also be published in the University website.
ENTRANCE TEST
1. Applicants seeking admission for these courses are required to appear for the Entrance Test to be conducted by the Madurai Kamaraj University.
2. The entrance test will be of objective type for a period of 100 minutes.
3. Mere appearance for the entrance examination does not mean that the candidate is eligible for admission.
