COURSES OFFERED
The Institute offers P.G & UG Degree, Diploma and Certificate Courses in Paramedical education of Nursing, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Laboratory Technology, Radio-diagnosis and Multipurpose Health Worker. The courses are conducted as per the rules and regulations of the respective Councils and statutory bodies such as Board of Medical Education, Board of Examination for Nurses, Pondicherry University, Indian Nursing Council, Tamil Nadu Nursing Council, Pharmacy Council of India and All India Council for Technical Education.
The admission of candidates for U.G. Degree Courses is entrusted with the Centralized Admission Committee (CENTAC), Govt. of Puducherry since 2002-03. The selection of candidates for Diploma course is done by the Institute as per the marks obtained in the respective qualifying examination on merit basis.
The admission for the following P.G. Degree courses will be based on the marks obtained in the P.G. Entrance Examination (50%) conducted by the Institute (MTPG&RIHS) and marks obtained in the respective qualifying examination (50%). The details of P.G. Age Limit:
There is no age limit for admission to P.G. Course and P.B.B.Sc.(Nursing) course.
Nationality:
A candidate seeking admission should be an Indian National.
However, French Nationals residing in the Puducherry UT and covered by the terms of the Treaty of Cession shall be treated on par with Indian Nationals for the purpose of admission.
Puducherry UTCandidates:
Candidates who are residents of Puducherry UT are eligible for admission to the courses. A candidate is considered to be a Puducherry Resident (Puducherry UT domicile) provided he/she is an Indian National and satisfies at least one of the following criteria :
a. Those candidates or whose parents have been residing continuously in the Puducherry UT at least for 5 years as on first of June of year of admission.
b. Those who have passed the Degree examination and for that purpose had undergone academic studies for 5 successive years immediately preceding the qualifying examination (including the year of the qualifying examination) in recognized educational institution(s) located in Puducherry UT and having resided in Puducherry UT for 5 years continuously during that period.
c. Children of Central / State Government Servants / Defence Personnel/ Central Paramilitary Forces/Employees of Public Sector Undertakings wholly or substantially run either by the Central
Government of by the Puducherry UT administration posted and serving in the Puducherry UT for at least a minimum period of one year prior to the last date of submission of application.
d. Children of natives of the Puducherry UT who have declared any place in the Puducherry UT as their hometown and so certified by their respective Heads of Office. In such case, Nativity Certificate in the prescribed format has to be enclosed along with the admission application.
e. Children of Defence Personnel who were killed or disabled in action and children of Central Government Servants / Puducherry UT Government Servants / Defence Personnel / Employees of Public Sector undertakings as referred in category (c) who died while in service in Puducherry UT.
f. French Nationals residing in Puducherry UTand covered by the terms of the Treaty of Cession shall be treated on par with the candidates who produce the prescribed Puducherry UT residence certificate for the UT of Puducherry, instead they should produce a certificate of registration issued for this purpose by the French Consulate at Puducherry
