1. COURSE :
Post Graduate DIPLOMA IN MICROBIAL TECHNOLOGY AND
BIOPROCESS ENGINEERING is a one year fulltime course with two semesters at the
Department of Microbiology under the Faculty of Science and Technology,
Gulbarga University, Gulbarga. This course has been sanctioned to the
Department of Microbiology by the University Grants Commission under Innovative
Programme - Teaching and Research in Interdisciplinary and Emerging areas.
Training the students with recent advances in the field of Miciobial Technology
and Bioprocess Engineering giving major emphasis on the Industrial aspects is
the major objective of this course.
2.
ELIGIBILITY :
A candidate who has passed the two years PG course
in Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology of this University or any other
University recognized as equivalent there to OR a candidate who has passed the
Bachelor of Engineering Degree course with a subject in any Life Sciences of
recognized University of Karnataka state or any other University recognized as
equivalent there to OR a candidate who has passed the Bachelor Degree in
Pharmacy/Medical/ Dental / Veterinary / Agriculture from the recognized
University of Karnataka state or any other University recognized as equivalent
there to shall be eligible to the course.
The candidate eligible should have secured at
atleast 55% marks in aggregate of all years of the Bachelor's degree or PG
degree qualifying examinations. The minimum percentage of marks for admission
shall be relaxed by 5% to the candidates of SC/ST and other categories as per
the University guidelines.
3. INTAKE
AND FEE STRUCTURE:
The total intake of the course is Twelve Students
only The Fee Structure prescribed for the proposed course is as follows: G.M -
Rs. 11300.00 ; SC/ST 85 Cat 1 Rs.
1800.00; Other- Rs. 2470.00 * Fee for Cat. 1 and Others is applicable to the
students of Karnataka state. The students out of Karnataka State, other than
SC/ST, arc considered as G.M.
4. MODE OF
APPLICATION:
The applications will be issued from 21.08.2012 to
10.09.2012, at the Department of Microbiology, Gulbarga University,
Gulbarga. The duly Tilled in applications should be submitted to the
Chairperson/Course Coordinator, Department of Microbiology, Gulbarga
University, Gulbarga - 585 106.
The last date for submission of application is 10.09.2012.
The application forms can be obtained, on payment
of Rs. 400.00 (Rs. 200.00 for SC.ST & Cat-1 J . Payment shall be made
through University bank challan or DD drawn from any recognized banks, in favor
of Finance Officer, Gulbarga University, „ Gulbarga. The application forms can
also be downloaded from the University website: www.gulbargaimiversity.kar.nic.in.

challan or a DD.
5. MODE OF
SELECTION:
The selection of eligible candidates will be made
based on merit cum reservation, as per guidelines of the University. The merit
of the candidate is the aggregate percentage of marks of all years of the
eligible course. The certificate for reservation category issued by competent
audiority be enclosed and original certificate should be produced at the time
of admission.
All the eligible candidates applied shall be
present before the committee, for the selection on 12.09.2012, by 11.00 am, at
the Department of Microbiology, Jnana Ganga Campus, Gulbarga University,
Gulbarga.
The selected candidates should be prepared to pay
fees on the spot and submit all necessary original documents along with two
sets of Xerox copies.
