Admission to Post Graduate Programmes 2013 – 2014

Applications are invited by MG University, Kottayam for admission to the following academic programmes for the academic year 2013-14.  Name of the Department / School / Centre, Programmes offered and eligibility criteria are given below:

I. School of Behavioural Sciences  (Tel: 0481-2731034)
1. MSc Disability Studies and Rehabilitation Sciences: Bachelors Degree in Arts with not less than 45% marks in Part III or Bachelors Degree in Science with not less than 50% marks in Part III
2. MSc Psychology: BA / BSc Psychology with not less than 50% marks in Part III

MSc Environment Science and Management: BSc Degree in any of the optional subjects – Botany / Zoology / Chemistry / Physics / Geology / Geography / Life Science / Environment Science / Environment Management / Microbiology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Plant or Animal Science / Agriculture/ Fisheries / Aquaculture / Horticulture / Forestry / BTech in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental or equivalent examination with not less than 50% marks in Part III.

2. MSc Environment Science and Disaster Management: BSc Degree in any subject with not less than 50% marks in Part III.

VI. School of Pure and Applied Physics (Tel: 0481-2731043)
14. MSc Physics, with Specialization from Astrophysics, Material Science, Applied Electronics, Theoretical Physics: BSc Degree in Physics with Mathematics as subsidiary, with not less than 50% marks in Part III.

VII. School of Letters (Tel: 0481-2731041)
15. MA Malayalam: Bachelors Degree in the subject concerned with a minimum of 45% marks in Part III or Degree in Arts / Science with a minimum of 50% marks in Part II Malayalam.
16. MA English: Bachelors Degree in the subject concerned with a minimum of 45% marks in Part III or Degree in Arts / Science with a minimum of 50% marks in Part I English.

24. Master of Tourism Management with specialization in Aviation Management, Tour Operations and Health Tourism: Bachelors Degree (10+2+3) with minimum 50% marks in any discipline of this University or any other University recognized by Mahatma Gandhi University.

XII. Dr. K.N. Raj Study Centre for Planning and Centre-State Financial Relations
25. MA Economics: Bachelors Degree in Economics / Mathematics / Statistics under 10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 45% marks in core and complementary subjects or equivalent Degree from an institution approved by Mahatma Gandhi University.

HOW TO APPLY:
a)     Application forms can be downloaded from the Website www.mgu.ac.in.   Application forms are not available at any other source.

b)    The Registration Fee for all PG Programmes is Rs. 400/-.  Candidates should remit the REGISTRATION fee by way of challan at any branch of SBT (Challan form can be downloaded from the University Website) or at the University CASH COUNTER/FRIENDS JANASEVANAKENDRAM or by way of D.D. drawn in favour of the FINANCE OFFICER, MAHATMA GANDHI UNIVERSITY, PAYABLE AT SBT M.G. UNIVERSITY CAMPUS BRANCH (Code No. 669), P.D. HILLS P.O., KOTTAYAM.  Full postal address of the applicant, with Pin code is to be entered on the reverse side of the DD in block letters.

c)     SC/ST candidates need to pay only 50% of the registration fee.

d)    Fee once remitted shall not be refunded.

e)     The University will not be responsible for delay in communication or late receipt of any document due to postal delay.

f)      The filled up application form should be complete in all respects.  Defective and incomplete applications will be summarily rejected.

g)    A self-addressed stamped (Rs. 5/-) envelope is to be attached along with the application.

h)    Candidates applying for more than one Programme in a School need send only one application form, specifying the order of preference.  However, candidates applying for different programmes in different schools shall submit separate applications.

 WHERE TO SUBMIT APPLICATION
            Duly filled up applications along with registration fee of Rs. 400/- (DD/Pay-in-Slip/Receipt) and copies of documents should be sent to the Office of the Assistant Registrar II (Acad), Mahatma Gandhi University, Priyadarsini Hills P.O., Kottayam – 686 560  so as to reach on or before 13th June 2013.

Hills P.O., Kottayam. 

A Common Entrance Test of one hour duration will be held on 22.06.2013 at selected Centres in Kottayam and Ernakulam.
