Admission Notice 2014-2016
The Faculty
of Management, Gauhati University has invited applications for admission into
the two-year programmes viz. Master of Business Administration (MBA)/ Master of
Business Economics(MBE) for the session 2014-2016
Eligibility
Criteria For MBA/ MBE Programme:
A bachelor’s
degree in any discipline with 50% marks in aggregate or in Honours /Major
subject (if any) from the Gauhati University or any other recognised University
(not through Distance mode). Those who have appeared in the final semester of
the Bachelor’s Degree may also apply provided they meet the eligibility
criterion prior to 31st August, 2014.
Application
form along with Prospectus can be obtained from Gauhati University Publication
Department (GUPD) from 23th December, 2013 to 9th February, 2014 on payment of
Rs.300/-(Three Hundred only) at the G.U. Cash Counter or by Demand Draft drawn
in favour of Registrar, Gauhati University payable at S.B.I., Gauhati University
Branch. The Application form for admission may also be downloaded from the
website at www.gauhati.ac.in in which case a Bank Draft of Rs. 300/-( Three
Hundred only) in favour of Registrar, Gauhati University & payable at
S.B.I., Gauhati University Branch is to be attached along with the filled in
application form.
Additional
Prescribed Forms:
Candidates
seeking admission on any reservation/quota viz., Differently Abled (Disabled),
Son/ Daughter of permanent employees in service, and Extra-curricular &
Co-curricular Activities must submit along with their Application forms the
respective additional prescribed form (s) obtainable from the Office of the
Secretary, University Classes, G.U. on production of payment challan of
Rs.30/-(Rupees thirty) only as cost of this form payable at G.U. cash counter.
A Demand
Draft Rs 350/-( Three Hundred fifty only) favouring Registrar, Gauhati
University as fee for the Entrance Test is to be deposited in the Department of
Business Administration, G.U. at the time of submission of Admission form(s).
Duly
completed Application Form accompanied by all testimonials from HSLC onwards
should reach the Head of the Department of Business Administration, Gauhati
University on or before 9th of February 2014.
SELECTION
PROCEDURE:
A. Eligible
applicant will have to appear in a written test, meant to evaluate their
quantitative aptitude, data interpretation, general awareness and proficiency
in English, to be conducted by the Gauhati University. All applicants
fulfilling the above eligibility criteria may appear for the written test to be held on Saturday, February 15th 2014 at 1 pm.
They are requested to collect their admit cards from the Department of Business
Administration, Gauhati University before the written test.
B.
Candidates qualifying in the written test will be permitted to appear in the
Group Discussion and Interview
C. Group
Discussion and Interview be held on 22rd , 23th & 24th of February 2014.
The final selection will be based on the applicant’s overall performance in the
written test, group discussion and interview.
D.
Candidates who have appeared in any one of the All India Common Entrance
Test-after May 2013 for admission to MBA programme, viz. CAT, MAT, ATMA, XAT or
CMAT and scored marks not less than 75 percentile are exempted from appearing
in the written test conducted by Gauhati University and shall be permitted to
appear in the Group Discussion and interview for final selection.
