JAM 2022 Examination will be conducted ONLINE only as a Computer Based Test (CBT) for all Test Papers.

JAM 2022 will have seven Test Papers, namely, Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS) and Physics (PH).

All the seven Test Papers of JAM 2022 will be of entirely objective type, with three different patterns of questions, namely (i) Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), (ii) Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and (iii) Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.


Joint Admission test for Masters is an examination on the comprehensive understanding of the candidates at the undergraduate level in Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS), and Physics (PH). JAM scores will be used for admission to M.Sc. (Two-Year), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, M.Sc.-M.S. (Research)/Ph.D. Dual Degree M.Sc.‐M.Tech. Dual Degree and other Post-Bachelor’s Degree Programmes at IITs (Bhilai, Bhubaneshwar, Bombay, Delhi, (ISM) Dhanbad, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Mandi, Palakkad, Patna, Roorkee, Ropar, Tirupati and (BHU) Varanasi) for the Academic Session 2022‐23. JAM score will be used by IISc Bangalore for admission to Integrated Ph.D. programmes. JAM score will also be used by other centrally funded technical institutions such as NITs, IIEST Shibpur, SLIET Punjab, and IISERs for admission to their postgraduate programmes. However, qualifying in JAM does not guarantee either admission to postgraduate programs or any scholarship/ financial assistance.

STRUCTURE AND MODE OF JAM 2022

JAM 2022 examination will be conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT) in ONLINE mode only. A candidate can appear for either one test paper or two test papers by paying an additional fee for the second test paper. Candidates opting to appear for two test papers must ensure that they do not choose test papers that are scheduled in the same session.

PATTERN OF TEST PAPERS

JAM 2022 Test papers will be fully objective type, with three patterns of questions: (i) Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), (ii) Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and (iii) Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.

Eligibility Requirements (ERs) for Admission

The candidates who qualify in JAM 2022 must fulfill the following Eligibility Requirements (ERs) for admissions to IITs.

All candidates admitted through JAM should have a Bachelor’s degree.

In the qualifying degree, the aggregate marks or CGPA/CPI without rounding-off (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) should be at least 55% or 5.5 out of 10 for General/OBC (NCL)/EWS category candidates, and 50% or 5.0 out of 10 for SC/ST and PwD category candidates.

Foreign nationals with Indian degree are eligible to apply, subject to the admitting institute’s policy.

If CGPA/CPI is on a different scale, it would be linearly mapped to a 10-point scale.

For Candidates with letter grades/CGPA (instead of percentage of marks), the equivalence in percentage of marks will be decided by the Admitting Institute(s).

Proof of having passed the Qualifying Degree with the Minimum Educational Qualifications (MEQs) as specified by the Admitting Institute should be submitted by September 30, 2022.

At the time of admission, all admitted candidates will have to submit a Physical Fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner in the prescribed form. At the time of admission, the admitted candidates may also have to undergo a Physical Fitness test by a medical board constituted by the Admitting Institute. In case candidates are not found physically fit to pursue their chosen course of study, their admission is liable to be cancelled.

NOTE:

It is entirely the responsibility of the Candidates to prove that they satisfy the Minimum Educational Qualifications (MEQs) and Eligibility Requirements (ERs) for admission.

The Admitting Institute has the right to cancel, at any stage, the admission of candidates who are found to have been admitted to a Programme to which they are not entitled, being unqualified or ineligible in accordance with the rules and regulations in effect.

Application Procedure

Candidates can apply for JAM 2022 only through by logging into application portal for which link is available at the website https://jam.iitr.ac.in. The facility for Online Registration and Application will be available through the website https://jam.iitr.ac.in from August 30, 2021. A candidate has to first register on JAM 2022 application portal, by providing his/her name, a valid E-mail address, a working mobile number and a password. The candidate must give an E-mail address that he/she uses and checks frequently, as all communication to the candidate from JAM 2022 will be sent to this E-mail address. The candidate must not use somebody else's E-mail address and only one candidate can be registered with one E-mail address. Similarly, the candidate should provide his/her personal mobile number because most of the communication may also be sent via SMS. The password that the candidate provides should be chosen such that it cannot be guessed easily by others and this password must not be forgotten by the candidate as he/she will require it to login to the online application website. Upon successful registration, an E-mail containing candidate’s Enrolment ID will be sent to the E-mail address provided by the candidate. The Enrolment ID will also be sent to the mobile number provided by the candidate. The candidate needs to use this Enrolment ID along with the password for all JAM 2022 related communications or website operations. Candidates are advised to keep the Enrolment ID along with the password information safe and confidential.

JAM 2022 application portal provides an online interface to the candidate for interacting with the JAM Administration. With this interface, a candidate can:

 Apply for the examination online.

 Upload photograph, signature, and other documents like category certificate (if applicable), PwD certificate (if applicable), etc.

 Pay the application fee through any of the electronic payment modes.

 Check the status of the application form: Received, Under scrutiny, Accepted, Defect status, Status after rectification, Rejected with valid reasons, Admit Card ready for download, etc.

Candidates are discouraged from making application through a third person. If someone else (friend or Internet café person) is filling the application on behalf of the candidate, the candidate must ensure that the data submitted are correct. It has been noticed during earlier occasions that the information (including signature) filled by another person on behalf of the candidate was wrong, as they did not have correct information about the candidate. We, therefore, strongly discourage such practice while filling the online application form.

After filling in the required fields in the application form and uploading the required documents, the candidate must review his/her complete application form before the final submission and making of the payment.

The last date to complete and submit the application form is October 11, 2021.

Any application that is incomplete in any respect and does not have the required valid documents will be summarily rejected. The candidates must take care to fill in the details in the application form correctly and must upload correct and valid documents, including signatures and photographs.

General Information

 JAM 2022 is open to all nationals (Indian/Foreign). Candidates seeking admission to the academic programmes for the academic year 2022-23 covered under JAM 2022 need to appear in JAM 2022. There is no age restriction.

 JAM 2022 Examination will be held on February 13, 2022 (Sunday) as a Computer Based ONLINE Examination.

 For admission, foreign nationals are required to satisfy the rules and regulations of the Admitting Institute(s) pertaining to foreign students. For further details, they are advised to contact the concerned Admitting Institute(s).

 To apply for admission to a desired programme, a candidate is required to qualify in the relevant Test Paper and also satisfy the Minimum Educational Qualifications (MEQs) and Eligibility Requirements (ERs) of the concerned Academic Programme.

 The candidates who have either appeared or are due to appear in the final examination of their qualifying degree in 2022 are also eligible to appear in JAM 2022. By qualifying in JAM 2022, candidates can apply for a provisional admission subject to the condition that: (a) all parts of their final examination shall be completed by the date of registration of the Admitting Institute, and (b) proof of having passed the qualifying degree with required eligibility, as specified by the Admitting Institute, should be submitted by September 30, 2022.

 On the basis of performance in JAM 2022, for each Test Paper, separate merit lists will be prepared for General (GEN), OBC Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL), SC, ST, and Persons with Disability (PwD) category candidates.

 Admission to most of the Academic Programmes at various institutes will be made on the basis of Rank in JAM 2022.

 Requests for change of category, if any, with proper documentation, should be made latest by May 04, 2022. Requests received after this date will not be accepted under any circumstances.

 Candidates should note that mere appearance in JAM 2022 or being in the merit list of any Test Paper neither guarantees nor provides any automatic entitlement to admission. Qualified candidates will have to apply for admission as per the prescribed procedure. Admissions shall be made in order of merit in each category and the number of seats available at the Admitting Institute(s).

 The list of academic programmes, number of seats, eligibility requirement and minimum educational qualifications of each of the programmes mentioned in this Information Brochure are subject to change, as per the policy of Admitting Institute(s).

 With regard to the interpretation of the provisions on any matter not covered in this Information Brochure, the decision of the Organizing Institute, JAM 2022 shall be final and applicable to all the parties concerned.

 In all matters concerning JAM 2022, the decision of the Organizing Institute, JAM 2022 will be final and binding on all the applicants.

 Although JAM 2022 is held at different centres across the country, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee is the Organizing Institute, and has the overall responsibility of conducting JAM 2022. In case of any claims or disputes related to JAM 2022, it is hereby made absolutely clear that the Nainital High Court (Nainital, Uttarakhand) alone shall have the exclusive jurisdiction to entertain and settle any such disputes and claims.

Applications are invited from Indian Nationals for the award of "DBT-Research Associateship" for pursuing research in frontier areas of Biotechnology and applied biology. The Associateship is tenable in Research Institution/ Universities including non-profit R&D Institutions within India. The Associateships are awarded under a program sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.


ABOUT DBT
Government of India, Ministry of Science and Technology established the Department of Biotechnology in the year 1986 to give a new impetus to the development of the field of modern biology and biotechnology in India. In the last sixteen years of its existence the Department has promoted and accelerated the pace of development of biotechnology in the country. Through several R & D projects, demonstrations and creation of infrastructural facilities a clear visible impact of this field has been seen. The Department has made significant achievements in the growth and application of biotechnology in the broad areas of agriculture, health care, animal sciences, environment, and industry. The following are the mandates of the Department:
Support R & D and manufacturing in Biological
Identify and setup Centres of Excellence for R & D
Promote large scale use of Biotechnology
Integrated Programme for Human Resource Development
Establishment of Infrastructure
Facilities to support R & D and production
Serve as nodal point for the collection and dissemination of information relating to biotechnology

To serve as Nodal Point for specific International Collaborations

ABOUT THE FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME
The Department of Biotechnology has introduced the aforesaid program. The Secretary, DBT requested Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore to co-ordinate and administer the implementation of the said programme. The Institute is successfully getting it done through the Society for Innovation and Development. The programme got started from December 2000 at a total project cost of Rs. 465.00 lakhs. The programme is intended only for Indian citizens. The purpose of the fellowship programme is to train scientists in frontier areas of research in Biotechnology at such institutions in India which are engaged in major biotechnological research activities. 

ELIGIBILITY
The applicants should hold a Ph.D. degree in Science, Engineering or M.D. or M.S. degree in any area of medicine with research interests in Biotechnology and Life Sciences and a good academic record. Those who have already submitted the Ph.D./M.D./M.S., thesis are also eligible to apply. The applicants should preferably be below the age of 40 years, and 45 years in case of women candidates. Persons already employed are also eligible to apply. However, their applications should be routed through their employers. 

PERIOD OF FELLOWSHIP
The fellowship is awarded for a period of two years. However, in exceptional cases, based on the progress of research, and overall importance of the project of the Fellows, the fellowship may be extended upto 5 years. The evaluation and recommendation for the extension of the fellowship will be made by the host institution as per their internal guidelines. 

The award of fellowships will normally start from 1st April or 1st October in a Calendar year. Accordingly, the selection of Fellows will be made twice a year. 

NUMBER OF FELLOWSHIPS
Up to 75 Fellowships would be awarded every year. Depending on the success and utility of the programme, the number of fellowships to be awarded per year would be revised. 

DETAILS OF THE AWARD
The Postdoctoral fellowship is a purely temporary assignment and is tenable for a period of 2 years. In exceptional cases, depending upon the progress of the research, the fellowship may be extended upto 5 years. Each fellow would be entitled to a stipend in the range of Rs. 22,000 - 24,000 per month and a research contingency grant of Rs. 50,000 per year, payable to the host institution. Candidates who are yet to be awarded the Ph.D./M.D./M.S degree, if selected, will be paid Rs. 18,000/- per month till the award of the degree. The fellows would also be entitled to HRA and other benefits as per the DST guidelines applicable to research fellowship/associateships. The fellowships cannot be availed at the same institution where the candidates have earned their Ph.D./M.D. degree. Candidates who are already in regular employment cannot avail the fellowship at their host institutions. However, there will be no restriction on them to receive the salary and other benefits while availing the fellowship in institutions other than their parent institutions. 

MODE OF APPLICATION
Candidates may submit their application on plain paper along with bio-data, list of publications (attach reprints of 2 important papers), copies of certificates (B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D./M.D.), one page synopsis of Ph.D./M.D. thesis, 2 letters of recommendation (academic). The applicant is advised to propose his/her place of work, name of the supervisor, enclose one page synopsis of proposed research which must be compatible with the on-going research of the proposed supervisor, and his/her consent, for availing the fellowship. They should also enclose a declaration stating that if selected for the fellowship, he/she will complete the tenure of the fellowship. However, they may be allowed to relinquish the fellowship only if accepting permanent employment in India. Those who had applied previously need not apply. 

MODE OF SELECTION
The candidates will be selected based on their C.V. and performance in the interview. The interview will be held at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and candidates called for interview will be paid II class railway (non-AC)/bus fare by the shortest route from their home town. If the candidate accepts the fellowship, he/she must join the host Institution/University within a month's time.

P.G. ADMISSION NOTIFICATION – 2012-13

Applications are invited for admission to the following Post-graduate degree programmes in
the University.
I. DOCTORAL DEGREE PROGRAMMES : Bangalore Campus


a. Eligibility for admission to Doctoral degree programme
• A Master’s degree in the concerned subject or an equivalent qualification from Agricultural/Deemed Universities/Institutes recognized by ICAR, New Delhi in terms of equivalent course duration, with CGPA of 2.50/4.00 or OGPA of 7.00/10.00 or its equivalent.  In case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/Cat-I, the 
minimum CGPA required is 2.00/4.00 or OGPA of 6.00/10.00 to seek admission. 
• Candidates who were admitted previously to doctoral degree programmes and have completed 75 per cent of the approved course work are eligible for re-admission. 
• The candidates studied under Trimester system seeking admission for PhD Programmes are required to submit compulsorily the  equivalent percentage certificate (Masters degree) obtained from the respective Universities/Institutions. 
• Domicile requirement is not required for regular or deputation candidates  of other states seeking admission to Ph.D. programmes.       
• Provision is also made to admit few candidates deputed from UASB/other Universities / Institutions  of State/CentralGovernment and recognized   autonomous  institutions subject to conditions. 
• All eligible candidates seeking admission, including candidates with or without ICAR-SRF/ CSIR/UGC/any other fellowships, and  candidates on deputation from State/Central Government and autonomous institutions for Ph.D. degree programmes shall apply for  only one subject and are required to appear for written entrance examination for 90 marks in the concerned subject and secure a minimum of 40 per cent ( in case of SC/ST & Cat-I ,35 per cent) to qualify  in the entrance examination. 
• Those candidates who do not score minimum qualifying marks are not considered for preparation of merit list.    Candidate seeking re-admission are  also required to appear for written entrance examination. However, scoring of minimum marks prescribed is not applicable to candidates seeking re-admission.   
• Merit will be determined by giving 50% weightage to academic performance, 45% to written entrance examination and remaining 5 %   for sports/cultural/NSS/higherOGPA/Research publications /ICAR-SRF/CSIR / UGC , with fellowship. Out of these, candidates should secure a minimum of 50% (in case of  SC/ST &Cat-I,     35 % to become eligible for admission.


II. MASTER’S DEGREE PROGRAMMES 

Masters degree: Eligibility conditions
1. Candidates seeking admission to Master’s degree programmes should possess eligible  Bachelor’s degree from Agriculture/Deemed Universities /Institutes recognized by ICAR in terms of equivalent course duration of four years (10+2+4 year’s pattern) in all the Undergraduate degree programmes, with a minimum CGPA of 2.25/4.00 or OGPA of 6.50/10.00 or its equivalent.  In case of SC/ST/Cat-I, the minimum CGPA required is 2.00/4.00 or OGPA of  6.00/10.00 to seek admission to Master’s degree programmes. 
 2. Candidate should have studied for a minimum period of seven academic years in any educational institution in Karnataka State any time up to bachelor degree as on 1st July 2012 as domicile requirement. 
3. Candidates who were admitted previously to Master’s degree programmes and have completed 75 per cent of the approved course work are eligible for re-admission.
4. The candidates studied under Trimester system seeking admission for Master’s degree  Programmes are required to submit compulsorily the equivalent percentage certificate   ( Bachelor’s degree) obtained from the respective University/Institution.
5. Candidates qualified in ICAR (JRF) exam   of particular subject with fellowship or without fellowship   shall apply for of a particular subject only and should invariably appear for entrance examination of that group. 
6. Eligible candidate shall apply for only one Group of his/her choice from among Groups-A to G for Master’s degree and is required to appear for Written entrance examination for 180 marks covering all the subjects included in that group and secure a minimum of 40% (In case of  SC/ST/Cat-I, 35%) to qualify. However, in case of candidates seeking re-admission   minimum  scoring of marks requirement is not applicable.  
7. Merit will be determined by giving 50% weightage to academic performance, 45% to written entrance examination and remaining 5% for sports & games / cultural /NSS/higher OGPA/ICAR-JRF with fellowship. Out of these, candidates should secure a minimum of 50% (in case of SC/ST &Cat-I, 35 %) to become eligible for admission.


III. MBA(ABM) :Eligibility conditions
1. Candidates seeking admission for MBA(ABM) should apply separately in the prescribed application form only  
2. Candidate should have studied for a minimum period  of  seven academic years in any educational institution in Karnataka State any time up to bachelor degree as on 1 st July 2012 as domicile requirement 
3. Candidates seeking admission to MBA (ABM) programme in the University shall possess eligible Bachelors degree (A Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/Horticulture/ Sericulture/ Forestry/ Agricultural Biotechnology/ B.Tech. (Food Science &Tech.)/ B.Tech. (Agri.Engg.) / Veterinary & Animal Sciences from Agricultural/ Horticultural/ Veterinary Universities / Deemed University / Institution recognized by ICAR, New Delhi) with a minimum CGPA of 2.25/4.00 or OGPA of 6.50/10.00.  In case of SC/ST/Cat-I, the minimum CGPA required is 2.00/4.00 or OGPA of 6.00/10.00 to seek admission to MBA (ABM). 
4. The candidates studied under Trimester system seeking admission for Master’s degree programmes are required to submit compulsorily the  equivalent percentage certificate (Bachelor’s degree) obtained from the respective University/Institution. 
5. Eligible candidates require to appear for a Written entrance examination for 100  marks,which include knowledge on Agricultural Technology (KAT)  and Management Aptitude Test (MAT) and secure a minimum of 40% ( In case of SC/ST/Cat-I, 35 %) to qualify for Group Discussion and Interview. 
6. Merit will be determined by giving 50% weightage to academic performance, 45% to written entrance examination, group discussion, Interview and remaining 5 %  for sports & games /cultural/NSS. Out of these, candidate should secure a minimum of 50% (in case of SC/ST  & Cat-I, 35 %) to become eligible for admission. 

IV. RESERVATION OF SEATS 
(a) Reservation of seats in favour of candidates belonging to SC/ST and other Backward    
 Classes shall be in accordance with the reservation policy of the Government of    Karnataka 
stipulated from time to time.  
(b) Five seats are reserved for Sports and Games (2), Cultural (2) and NSS (1) for Master’s degree  
including MBA(ABM) programme.

The candidate must have studied English as a language in his / her degree programme 2 years / 4 semesters and should have secured an aggregate of 50% marks in English language (both years included) OR

A citizen of India who has passed a 3 years BA English Honors / English Literature / optional English / Communicative English / Functional English degree programmes with or without any elective subject securing 50% marks in the aggregate and 50% pass mark in the Entrance Test conducted by RIESI will be eligible for admission. Such candidates must have studied English as a language in their degree for 2 years / 4 semesters and should have secured an aggregate of 50% marks in the English language and a 50% pass mark in the entrance test conducted by RIESI, Bengaluru for admission.

In case of SC / ST candidates, there shall be a relaxation up to 5% marks in the required aggregate either in the language specific or over all aggregate. This relaxation will be applicable to all the SC / ST candidates from all over India or submission of a certificate to the effect.

Age limit: 40 years relaxable by 5 years in case of SC / ST candidates. In case of in service candidates deputed by the member states there is no age limit.

National Institute of Unani Medicine(NIUM), Bangalore affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka has invited applications for admission to the "Mahire Tib/Mahire Jarahat - MD/MS (Unani)" course of 2011-12 session, in the following subjects:


(i) Moalajat (Medicine)

(ii) Ilmul Advia (Pharmacology)

(iii) Tahaffuzi wa Samaji Tib (PSM)

(iv) Ilmul Qabalat wa Amraze Niswan (OBG)

(v) Ilmul Saidla (Unani Pharmacy)


Minimum Qualification:A Candidate must have obtained the Kamile Tib o Jarahat (BUMS) degree or any other degree in Unani Medicine as recognized by CCIM and must have completed the 06 months / 12 months internship/house job as the case may be, on or before 30th September 2011 for admission to the above mentioned course.


Entrance Test:Entrance Test will be conducted by National Institute of Unani Medicine, Bangalore. The Test will be held on Sunday, the 30th October 2011. The candidates are directed to report to the exam centre at 10:00 AM but not later than 10:30 AM. The schedule of the test is 11:00 AM to 12:40 PM. The medium of examination will be English.


Reservations:

(i) Presently two seats are reserved for Foreign National Students (One for BIMSTEC Countries and the other for other countries). The students nominated by Central Government under this Category will be admitted directly, on the recommendation of ICCR, New Delhi. They will not be required to appear in the Entrance Test. Seats for foreign students are subsumed in the total No. of seats.


(ii) Four seats are reserved under Government of India (GOI) Nomination category, one each in Moalajat, Ilmul Advia, Tahaffuzi wa Samaji Tib & Ilmul Qabala wa Amraze Niswan. Under this category the Teachers/Medical Officers working in any Govt. organisation, nominated by Govt. of India, will be admitted directly in NIUM. They will not be required to appear in the Entrance Test. No application will be entertained by NIUM for nomination under this category.


(iii) The seats remaining vacant if any, under GOI nomination category due to non-availability of Teachers/Medical Officers (In-service), nominated by Govt. of India, will be filled up by the candidates who belong to the deficient states. However, such candidates will have to appear in the Entrance Test and obtain the minimum qualifying marks to be eligible for admissions in this category. The candidates belonging to deficient states (The states where P.G Education facility is not available in the particular discipline) will be admitted subject to availability of the seats under this category only, and from the merit list of the Entrance test, prepared separately for this category.


The applications of such candidates should also be forwarded by the concerned state governments.(iv) Besides the above categories, reservations will be given to SC, ST, Physically handicapped, OBC (not belonging to creamy layer), and to any other category, as per the guidelines of Govt. of India.(v) In case of non-availability of the eligible candidates in any of the above reservation categories, the vacant seats will be filled up from the General Merit list, prepared on the basis of the Entrance Test.

1. Name of the Course:

2. Duration of the Course:
3 years
3. Minimum Qualification:
A Candidate must have obtained the Kamile Tib o Jarahat (BUMS) degree or any other degree in UnaniMedicine as recognized by CCIM and must have completed the 06 months/12 months internship/housejob as the case may be, on or before 30th September 2011. The right of admission of any candidate, whohas not completed the internship by 30th September 2011, stands automatically cancelled.
4. Reservations:

5. Entrance Test:
Entrance Test will be conducted by National Institute of Unani Medicine, Bangalore. The Test will be held on Sunday, the 30th October 2011. The candidates are directed to report to the exam centre at 10:00 AM but not later than 10:30 AM. The schedule of the test is 11:00 AM to 12:40 PM. The medium of examination will be English. The candidates should indicate their choice of answer with Black / Blue Ball Pen only.

6. Marks of Entrance Test:
The Entrance Test paper shall be of 100 marks containing objective type questions covering all the subjects of BUMS Course. Each question will carry one mark. The duration of the paper will be 100 minutes.

Students will have to select the best answer out of four plausible alternatives. One mark will be given for each correct answer. If more than one alternative is indicated for a question, the answer will be considered as invalid and over-writing or ambiguously marked answers will be considered as invalid. There will be no negative marking for any incorrect answer.
The complaint against the question, if any, should be submitted to the office of the chief Superintendent Entrance Test Centre, with in one hour after completion of the test on the same day. After which no complaint will be entertained.

7. Determination of Merit:
Candidates belonging to General Category should obtain 50% of marks in the entrance test. However, 10% concession will be given to the candidates belonging to SC, ST & OBC (below creamy layer). Hence for SC, ST & OBC (below creamy layer) obtaining a minimum of 45% marks in the Entrance Test is essential to become eligible for counselling. Securing mere eligibility marks does not guarantee admission, which will be according to the merit list of the Entrance Test.

8. Admission Procedure:
(i) The Admission Committee shall scrutinise all the application forms
(ii) The eligible candidates shall be admitted on the basis of merit, subject to availability of seats.
(iii) In case more than one candidate securing equal marks in the Entrance Test then the following criteria will be followed to decide seniority amongst them:
1. Number of attempts taken by the candidate in UG examination(Ascending)
2. If it is also same then the total percentage secured by the candidate in final Prof/IV & V year (Descending)
3. If it is also same then the total percentage secured by the candidate in II Prof/III year then I Prof/I year (Descending)
(iv) The vacancies arising out of non-joining of the candidate shall be filled on the basis of merit-cumpreference within the stipulated dates. Such candidates should join the Institute by the specific time mentioned already.
09. Declaration of Results / Merit list:
Result/ Merit list will be notified within three days of the test.
10. Application for Admission:
A candidate must apply for admission on prescribed Application Form. Application Forms, Instructions and other details can be downloaded from the Institute’s website www.nium.in from 1st October 2011.

Application forms will not be sent by post to the candidates.

11. Entrance Test Fee:
The candidate has to strictly follow the instructions given below for payment of Entrance Examination Fees.
1. Entrance Test Fees payment has to be made through Challan System (Form 1) in State Bank of India Branches.
2. The Challan can be downloaded from the Institute’s website or can be collected from Academic Section of the Institute
3. The receipt of the Challan for payment of requisite fees duly signed and sealed by the SBI Branch has to be attached along with the application form compulsorily.
4. In case of non attachment of the challan receipt against the payment of fee, the application is liable to be rejected.

12. Submission of Application Form:
The candidate must ensure that the filled in application form completed in all aspects along with challan towards Entrance test fee should reach the office of “The Director, National Institute of Unani Medicine, Kottigepalya, Magadi Main Road, Bangalore-560091 on or before 25th October 2011. The envelope containing the Form should be super scribed “Application for P.G.E.T. (Unani)”. Application Forms received after 25th October 2011 or incomplete Application Form in any respect will not be considered and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
13. General Instructions for Filling the Application Form:
(i) The Candidates shall fill the Application Form in their own handwriting. They must go through the instructions and other details of admission carefully before filling the application form.
(ii) It is the responsibility of the candidates to ensure that their Application Form reaches the Institute before the prescribed time and they should fill the correct address legibly on the self-addressed envelope for necessary correspondence, if required.
(iii) Candidate should clearly mention the category (General, SC, ST, OBC, PH, GOI, In-Service etc.)
under which they seek admission in the column provided in the Application Form.
(iv) Applicants are advised to send the filled in Application Form well in advance preferably by speed post to avoid any delay. The Institute will not be responsible for any postal delay. The application forms received without the prescribed fee and also received after the due date even with the fee will be rejected.
(v) The right of admission of any candidate, who has not completed the internship by 30th September 2011, stands cancelled.

14. Other Instructions to candidates:
 The candidates shall be present at the centre 30 minutes before the commencement of the test.
 Only the candidates who possess the Hall Ticket shall be allowed to appear for the Entrance Test. In case of loss of Hall Ticket, the candidates should contact the Chief Superintendent of the centre one hour earlier for assistance.
 No Candidate shall copy from the paper of any other candidate or permit his / her own papers to be copied or attempt to give or seek any illegal assistance.
 No candidate will be permitted to the examination hall after commencement of the Entrance Test.
 No candidate will be allowed to leave the examination hall before the end of the first thirty minutes.
Candidates leaving the hall prior to the end of the Entrance Test will have to hand over the question paper
and OMR sheet to room invigilator and collect the same at the end of the test.
 No candidate should leave the room without handing over his / her OMR sheet to the Invigilator.
 Candidate should sign the attendance sheet as per the instructions of the invigilator
 Candidate should indicate their choice of answer with black / blue ball pen only.
 Question paper will consist of objective type of questions, each having one most appropriate answer out of four plausible alternatives. Each question carries one mark for the correct answer. Answer booklet will be of OMR type.

 Silence must be observed in the examination hall. Any candidate found guilty of disorderly or improper conduct will be liable for expulsion from the examination hall and will be debarred from the Entrance test by the Chief Superintendent of the centre.
 Candidates are not permitted to carry any electronic gadgets like Pager, Cell Phone, Blue tooth etc., into the examination hall.
 Candidates defacing the OMR sheet or erasing the marked oval by eraser/blade/any sharp object are liable for disqualification.
 If more than one alternative is indicated for a question, answer will be considered as invalid.

 The answer sheet will be evaluated by using imaging technology. Hence even an inadvertent, tiny
drop/mark of pen/ink on the other oval makes the answer invalid.
 Read the instructions given in the OMR sheet before marking.
 Candidates will have to make their own arrangement for stay in Bangalore during the time of test and no
accommodation will be provided by the institute.
 The Entrance Test fee and the Admission Fee are neither refundable nor transferable.
 Admission will be granted subject to being medically fit.
 The Director reserves the right to accept/reject any Application Form or to amend any rules and
regulations or cancel any admission without assigning any reason there of.
 No transfer of admission will be allowed from any other college in MD/MS (Unani) Course.
 The original documents of admitted candidates will remain with Institute till completion of duration of the
Course.
 All disputes are subject to Bangalore jurisdiction only.

15. Specific Instructions for In-Service Candidates:
(i) In-service candidates seeking admission against the seats reserved for the said category must submit their candidature in original Application Form along with NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE duly forwarded by the Employer/ Directorate concerned up to the last date of submission of Application Forms. Other wise their candidature will not be considered under the Inservice category and they will be considered under General Category only.
(ii) The In-service candidates found eligible in the Entrance Test against the reserved seats are required to produce relieving orders from the Employer/Directorate concerned at the time of joining. Their joining will be accepted on production of relieving orders from the concerned department within the specified period as notified. Otherwise their admissions will stand cancelled and the vacant seats will be allotted to the waiting merit list candidates.

16. List of Enclosures:
Attested true copies of the following documents must be enclosed along with the Application Form. The originals of these shall be produced for verification at the time of admission
(i) High school /Secondary or equivalent examination certificate for proof of Date of birth
(ii) Marks sheet of all examinations from first to final year/ proof of degree relating to the qualifying examination.
(iii) Certificate of 06 months / 12 months compulsory internship/house job after passing the final examination as per eligibility requirements.
(iv) Candidates should bring character certificate issued by the last Institution/College attended.
(v) Caste certificate issued by Tehsildar (in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates). In case of OBC Candidates Income Certificate issued by Tehsildar to ascertain that they do not belong to creamy layer.
(vi) Candidates with whole body physical disability ranging above 40% should produce a Medical Certificate issued by Chairman, State Disability Board or any equivalent authority in the field of concerned disability along with the application form for the entrance test. Candidates suffering from hearing disability should compulsorily obtain and produce a BSER (Brain Stem Evoked Response) Audiometry Report from NIMHANS/Manipal Hospital /Government Speech and Hearing Institute, Lingarajpuram, Bangalore or from any other hospital, recognized by the National Disability Board.
At the time of counselling, the candidates are required to produce their original medical certificates before a Committee comprising of the Director, NIUM, as Chairman and one of the specialists from the department of Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology and ENT as the case may be. Persons with the disability shall have the same meaning assigned to it in the “Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection and Rights and Participation) Act 1995 (Central Act 1/1995). The candidates with disability less than 40% will not be eligible for claiming a seat under Physically Disabled Category.

Note: The Physically Disabled candidates who fail to appear before the committee on the day fixed for medical examination will not be eligible for selection of a seat under Physically Disabled quota.

Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore,The Post Graduate programme in Public Policy and Management (PGPPM) Admissions 2012-14


Applications have been invited by Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore for admission to The Post Graduate programme in Public Policy and Management (PGPPM) for the Academic Year 2012-14.

Eligibility:

Open and Overseas Candidates:
Candidates from other than government sectors should be graduates and ideal profile would be 5 to 7 years of work experience. He/ she should not be aged over 40 years as on June 01, 2012.

Open and Overseas candidates need to take CAT 2011 exam or should have secured GMAT/ GRE scores between April 1, 2010 and January 1, 2012.

Government Sponsored Candidates:
Group A Officers of All India Services and Central Services are eligible for the IIMB PGPPM subject to the following eligibility conditions.

i) Length of Service: The officer should have put in at least 7 years of Group 'A' service.
ii) Age: The officer should not be more than 50 years on the date of commencement of the programme i.e. June 01, 2012 (53 years in case of officers belonging to Scheduled Caste Scheduled Tribe and OB Community).
iii) Earlier Training: The officer should not have undergone training programme of a duration of 12-weeks or more in India or a duration of 2-weeks or more abroad, in the preceding five years.

Criteria for Selection:

Open and Overseas Candidates
Selection of open and overseas candidate is based on two stage processes.
At the first stage candidates will be called for interviews based on the following criteria: academic background, CAT / GMAT /GRE scores, work experience, achievements (academic and career related).
Selected open candidates will be called for interview in Delhi or Bangalore and they will be required to do a Case Analysis on the interview date. Interviews for overseas candidates will be arranged through video Conference/Skype mode at a mutually convenient date and time.

Government Sponsored Candidates:
The government sponsored candidates are expected to write an essay on a public policy issue which they think is important and should submit the same with the application form through the Department for Personnel and Training (DoPT), Government of India.
The shortlisted candidates will be called for interview at Delhi or Bangalore. They will be expected to do a case analysis or write a short paper at the time of interview.
