M.Sc Admissions 2011-2012


Applications in prescribed form have been invited by Dibrugarh University from the eligible candidates for admission to the following M.Sc courses of Academic Year 2011-12:

1. M.Sc. Bioinformatics:
Graduates from any recognized university or institute in Biological, Veterinary, Agricultural, Medical, Pharmaceutical sciences, Biotechnology and Engineering are eligible to apply for the course. The Science graduate must have at least two of the subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.( Minimum 45% Marks in Major Course or Minimum 45% Marks in aggregate and 50% Marks in aggregate in case of the graduates completed the general course).

Application Forms:
Application Forms along with the Information Brochure can be obtained from the Office of the Deputy Registrar (Academic), Dibrugarh University on payment of Rs. 300/- (Rupees Three hundred) only in the University Cash Counter. Request for supply of forms by post must be accompanied by a self-addressed stamped (of Rs. 108/-) envelope of 25cm x 30cm size along with a Bank Draft of Rs. 300/- drawn in favour of “Registrar, Dibrugarh University” drawn in State Bank of India, Dibrugarh University Branch (Code No. 2051) only.

Downloaded Application Forms from the website www.dibru.ac.in (link: http://www.dibru.ac.in/INSIDE/downloadable%20forms/appform.pdf ) must be accompanied by a bank draft of Rs.300/- at the time of submission.

Duly completed Application Forms should reach the Director, Centre for Bioinformatics Studies, Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh-786004 on or before 25.07.2011.

2. M.Sc. in Biotechnology:
Candidates having Bachelor degree of any recognized University/Institution in Biological Sciences/Agricultural Sciences/Veterinary Sciences/Pharmaceutical Sciences/Medical Sciences with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and having chemistry as one of the optional subject/ or chemistry paper (s) with equivalent weightage at the undergraduate level are eligible to apply for the course.

Candidates appeared/due to appear in the final year of their respective qualifying examinations in April/May 2011 are also eligible to apply but their eligibility for admission shall be considered only when they obtain the minimum qualifying marks and produce original mark sheet of the final year at the time of admission.

Application Forms:
Application in prescribed form obtainable from the Office of The Deputy Registrar (Academic), Dibrugarh University on payment of Rs.400/- ( Rs. 300/- for brochure and Rs.100/- as Entrance test fees ) in cash or through Demand Draft (DD) in favour of The Registrar, Dibrugarh University drawn at the State Bank of India, Dibrugarh University Branch (Code No. 2051).

Prospectus cum application forms can also be obtained through post by sending a request letter along with a Demand Draft of Rs. 450/- and a self-addressed envelope of A4 size, to the Deputy Registrar (Academic), Dibrugarh University.
Downloaded forms from website www.dibru.ac.in accompanied by Demand Draft of Rs.400/- as particulars mentioned above are also acceptable.

Completed Application forms accompanied by attested copies of all relevant documents are to be submitted to the Director in-charge, Centre for Studies in Biotechnology, Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh on or before 15th July 2011 (Friday).
