10 + 2 Cadet (BTech) Entry Scheme  - DEC 2012 COURSE

Applications have been invited from unmarried males for admission to Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala under the 10 + 2 Cadet (B Tech) Entry Scheme.

Eligibility:  Applicant should be in the age group of 17 to 19½ years, or born between 2nd July 1993 & 1st January, 1996 (both dates inclusive). Applicants should have passed the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 Pattern) or its equivalent from University / Board with at least 70 % aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and at least 50% marks in English (either in Class X or Class XII).

Physical Standards : Minimum height should be 157 cms with correlated weight as per age. In respect of eye sight, the minimum acceptable vision standards for distant vision is 6/6, 6/9 correctable to 6/6, 6/6 with glasses and should not be colour/night blind. There will be no relaxation in physical standards.

Selection Procedure : Applicants will be called for Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews based on their PCM marks in 10+2/equivalent Examination based on the short-listed applications after fixing of a cut off percentage by the Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy).  SSB interviews for short-listed candidates will be conducted at Bangalore / Bhopal / Coimbatore during July to November 2012. Change of SSB venue for interview is not permissible. Any correspondence regarding change of SSB dates should be addressed to the President of the concerned SSB. Award of fresh dates for SSB would be made by the President SSB subject to availability. No compensation will be paid in respect of any injury sustained as a result of tests. Return 3rd AC rail fare will be given for attending the SSB interview, if appearing for the first time for the same type of commission.

Stage I test which consists of Intelligence Tests, Picture Perception and Discussion Tests will be conducted on the second day of arrival of the candidate at SSB. Those who fail to qualify in Stage I will be routed back on the same day. Stage II Tests comprising of Psychological Testing, Group Testing and Interview will last for 4 days. Successful candidates will thereafter undergo Medical examination which will extend for approximately 3 to 5 days. Those recommended by the SSBs and declared medically fit, will be appointed for training as per order of All India Merit depending on the number of vacancies.

Training : The training is scheduled to commence in December 2012. Selected Candidates will be inducted as Cadets for four year B Tech course in Electronics & Communication or Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala Kerala. During the course, Cadets will be allotted Executive or Engineering including Naval Architect specialisation or Electrical Branch. On completion of the course, B Tech Degree will be awarded by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). The entire cost of training, including books and reading material, will be borne by the Indian Navy. The cadets will also be provided with free clothing and messing.

On successful completion of training applicant will be commissioned as Sub-Lieutenant. The promotion from Sub Lieutenant to Commander is on time scale basis and thereafter on selection basis subject to fulfilment of requisite service conditions. Application : Application can be submitted only online (‘e-application’). ‘e-application’ can be submitted up to 18th June 12. Only one application will be received from one candidate. Before submitting the e-application, it is advisable to keep all educational certificates, email address, mobile number and softcopy of the latest photograph of size less than 10 KB readily available for error free submission of e-application.

Procedure :  Applicants can submit e-application by visiting www.nausena-bharti.nic.in and proceed by Clicking on the ‘Officer Entry’ button under the option 'Apply Online' on the Home Page. Applicant has to fill the online registration form. Tips to assist in filling up fields will be available when the applicant highlights each field. Before clicking the submit button, it should be checked whether all the details entered in the form are correct as it will not be possible to make any corrections after saving the record. After submitting the form, an 'Application Number' will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. This Application Number will automatically appear on the print out of the form. If the system does not generate the Application Number, it is an indication of non-acceptance of the Application by the system. Applicant should print two copies of the online Application Form having the system generated Application Number.

One copy of this Application Form, duly signed along with self attested photograph, Attested photo copies of 10th & 12th class certificates and Mark Sheets, with the requisite enclosures properly tagged/stapled, enclosed in a cover, super-scribed, ‘ONLINE APPLICATION NO. _________APPLICATION FOR 10+2 CADET (B TECH) ENTRY SCHEME - DEC 2012 COURSE Qualification PCM Percentage ___%’ should reach Post Box No. 04, Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi - 110 021 by normal post latest by 25th  June 2012. Application received by Speed Post/Courier/Registered Post will not be accepted. The receipt of the printout of the online Application Form with system generated Application Number and all documents as mentioned will be the final confirmation of receipt of the Application at IHQ MoD (Navy).

Filling the application online/generation of Application Number does not imply that the candidate has fulfilled all the criteria given in the advertisement. The application is subject to subsequent scrutiny and the application can be rejected, if found ineligible at any point of time.
