PGCDM Admission open for 3rd Batch starting from Jan 2013. Apply before 31st Oct to avail scholarships

PGCDM is the first program being offered by the CEdSS to develop a distinctive space in the arena of continuing education for mid-level development practitioners in the social sector.

The aim of the PGCDM program is to create a cadre of development professionals with exceptional capacities through
Combining the best practices of experience in the field and exposure to the relevant management practices for systemic improvement
Enhancing capacity and skills of the mid-level managers in developing organisations while influencing organisational efficiency through these individuals.

PGCDM offers a modular program spread over 3 semesters with a focus on off-campus application exercises relevant to the sector with a mentor to guide during this time. It aims at preparing participants for higher responsibilities while continuing to work in their organizations.


Eligibility
Candidates applying for the PGCDM should be at least
Graduate (from any discipline) from a recognised University, with a minimum two years of relevant work experience. The medium of instruction is English and the participants are expected to have basic proficiency in computers.

Who can benefit
PGCDM seeks a diverse set of participants ranging from the development, corporate and the public sectors
Development of practitioners, who aspire to rise in the hierarchy and take up responsible management roles in NGOs
Employees of government departments related to social welfare, rural development and sustainability issues
Those who aspire to take up employment with funding organisations.
Corporate intending to prepare talented employees for developing inclusive business strategies
Professionals undertaking socially relevant activities through the CSR initiatives directly or through partner NGOs.

Processing fee is Rs. 500 to be paid by Credit Card, Net Banking or Demand Draft favouring 'S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research' payable at Mumbai and addressed to the Centre for Education in Social Sector, SPJIMR
The candidates nominated by their employers should apply to the Institute with a letter from their organisation supporting their candidacy. They will have to submit documents supporting all previous educational qualifications

Selection Process
Candidates applying for this course should be eager to learn and receptive to engaging with the development sector on a long-term basis. Selection will be based on the following parameters

Financial Assistance
The PGCDM is a programme that has emerged out of the need to provide the best quality training to practitioners with a firm commitment to the development sector. SPJIMR proposes to support such participants through academic scholarships. It is expected that the larger ecosystem involving stakeholders like the corporate sector and funding organisations will also get involved in supporting this exclusive initiative by means of instituting scholarships and long-term financial support. Participants can also avail of loans through SPJIMR tie up with Indian Bank.
