are invited for admission to Advanced PG Diploma programme in Communication
Engineering for 2013-14 batch conducted jointly by Department of Optoelectronics,
University of Kerala & Regional Telecom Training Centre, BSNL, Thiruvananthapuram
and the last date of submission of application is extended to 30.05.2013.
About the
course:
Indian
telecommunication industry is a highly dynamic sector, which is fast growing.
The wireless segment comprises 95% of the telecom subscribers and is expecting
to grow at a faster rate in the coming years with advent of 3G, LTE and WiMAX.
The wired communication technology like optical communication has also
revolutionized the communication links with the unlimited provision of
Bandwidth. The telecom sector now, is witnessing huge demand for the trained
and qualified engineers specialized in various disciplines of communication
engineering.
To
meet this growing demand for qualified professionals in Telecommunication,
University of Kerala along with BSNL, the pioneer service provider, is
launching this program. The course provides hands-on-training in design,
installation, optimization, and maintenance of wired and wireless telecom
networks. It describes in great detail both the theoretical and practical
aspects of fiber optics, mobile communication, data communication, switching,
transmission and signaling in telecommunication. One month training in BSNL
centers is given as part of this programme. This industry-academic tie-up will
go a long way in making the students, industry ready and employable.
Eligibility for
admission:
i.
B.E./ B.Tech or equivalent degree in Electronics/ Electrical & Electronics/
Electronics & Communication/Applied Electronics & Instrumentation/
Electronics & Instrumentation /Computer Science Engineering with at least
55 %marks or equivalent CGPA.
OR
ii. M.Sc. Degree in Physics/Applied Physics/ Photonics/ Electronics with at
least 55 % marks or equivalent CGPA.
All
these Degrees should be recognized by University of Kerala.
iii.
For sponsored quota: A candidate having the above qualification must have a
minimum experience of 2 years in the relevant field and must be sponsored by
Government/ QuasiGovernment/ Corporate/ Industry/Teaching/Research
Organizations.
The
last date for submission of application: 30.05.2013
The
filled-up application for the course should reach the office of the Department
of Optoelectronics, University of Kerala on or before 30.05.2013.
