ADMISSION NOTICE 2013-2014

Applications in prescribed form are invited by Dibrugarh University for admission into the following courses of Academic Year 2013-14.

1. Master of Arts (MA) in - Anthropology, Assamese, Economics, Education, English, Geography, History, Mathematics, Political Science, Philosophy, Sociology and Statistics. Eligibility: Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant subjects with minimum 45% marks in major or minimum 50% marks in the subject and 45% marks in aggregate in case of pass course candidates.

2. Master of Science (MSc) in Anthropology, Applied Geology, Chemistry, Geography, Life Sciences, Mathematics, Physics and Statistics. Eligibility: Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant subjects with minimum 45% marks in major or minimum 50% marks in the subject and 45% marks in aggregate in case of pass course candidates.

3. Master of Commerce (MCom) in Finance and Marketing. Eligibility: Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant subjects with minimum 45% marks in specialty or minimum 50% marks in the subject and 45% marks in aggregate in case of general course candidates.

4. Master of Education (MEd) Recognized by the NCTE. Eligibility: 50% marks in the BEd / BT Examination.

5. Master of Arts (MA) in Applied Psychology: Eligibility: Graduates (Excluding Fine Arts) including Medical and other Technical Graduates with at least 45% marks in major or 50% marks in aggregate.

6. MTech in Petroleum Exploration & Production, Eligibility: BE / BTech in Mechanical / Chemical / Petroleum Engineering and MSc in Geology / Applied Geology / Geophysics with minimum of 55% marks. MSc (Geology / Applied Geology) students must have Mathematics in their BSc level.

7. MTech in Petroleum Geology, Eligibility: MTech / MSc in Applied Geology / Geology securing at least 55% marks. Preference shall be given to GATE / NET qualified candidates or candidates having working or research experience.

8. MTech in Exploration Geophysics, Eligibility: MSc / MScTech degree in Applied Geology / Geology / Physics / Mathematics and other equivalent degree from any UGC recognized University securing at least 55% marks in aggregate (or CGPA 7.0 in the scale of 10.0 points) and having Mathematics as core subject in the degree level. Preference shall be given to GATE qualified candidates.

9. Master of Science (MSc) in Biotechnology, Eligibility: Bachelor degree of any recognized University / Institution in Physical Sciences / Biological Sciences / Agricultural Sciences / Veterinary Sciences / Medical Sciences / BTech / BPharm / Bio-technology.

10. Master of Science (MSc) in Bioinformatics, Eligibility: Graduates from any recognized University or institute in Biological, Veterinary, Agricultural, Medical, Pharmaceutical sciences, Biotechnology and Engineering. The Science graduate must have at least two of the subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.( Minimum 45% Marks in Major programme or Minimum 45% Marks in aggregate and 50% Marks in aggregate in case of the graduates completed the general programme).

11. Master of Social Work (MSW), Eligibility: Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University securing at least 45% marks (40 % marks in case of reserved categories) in major or in aggregate.

12. Master of Library & Information Science (MLISc), Eligibility: BLISc with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

13. Master of Arts (MA) in Performing Arts (Sattriya Dance, Theatre Art, Vocal Music): Eligibility: Bachelor Programme in Performing Arts in the concerned stream / in other stream(s) / Graduate in any stream with special training in the relevant field(s). 

14. Master of Physical Education (MPEd): Eligibility: BPEd Degree (one year) / BPEd (Intergraded) 4 years / BPEd 3 years professional Course with minimum 50% marks. Date of Written Test, Personal Interview & Skill Proficiency Test: 24th & 25th July, 2013.

15. MA in Mass Communication, Eligibility: Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University with minimum 45% marks in major or aggregate.

16. MPharm (Pharmaceutics, Pharmacognosy & Pharmaceutical Chemistry): Eligibility: BPharm degree with minimum of 55% marks from AICTE recognized institute / college / university. Preference will be given to GPAT qualified candidates. Admission in the sponsored seats will be filled up as per approved rules of the University.

17. BPharm: Eligibility: Passed H.S. (10+2) Examination in Science stream or any other examination recognized by the Dibrugarh University as equivalent to this examination securing not less than 50% (45% for SC and ST) marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology Or ii) Passed the two year Diploma in Pharmacy examination of Dibrugarh University or from any other institution which is recognized by the Pharmacy council of India and All India Council for Technical Education securing not less than 50% marks in the aggregate.

18. Bachelor of Library & Information Science (BLISc), Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree with at least 45% marks in major or in aggregate.

19. Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd): Eligibility: Graduates in Physical Education with 45% marks or Graduates with Physical Education as an elective subject with 45% marks OR any graduate with minimum 45% marks having experience of participation in National / State / Inter University / SGFI / Inter College / Inter District Inter School passed NCC ‘C’ Certificate OR Deputed / In-service candidates (trained physical education teacher/coaches) graduate with minimum 45% marks. Date of Physical Fitness Test & Personal Interview: 24th & 25th July, 2013.

The Application Form can also be downloaded from the website: www.dibru.ac.in.  The filled-in downloaded application form should be accompanied by a Bank Draft of Rs. 300/- drawn in favour of the ‘Registrar, Dibrugarh University’ payable at State Bank of India, Dibrugarh University Branch (Code No. 2051) at the time of submission

Last date of receipt of completed application forms for the academic programmes at serial nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 10, 12, 18 & 19 as mentioned above by the Head of the Department / Directors of the Centre for Studies concerned is 19.07.2013 and for the rest of the programmes as follows:
